While I was at first a bit hesitant about getting a relatively high ended vehicle the Murano is everything I was looking for and more. I'm real pleased with the purchase. Dealerships may leave something to be desired, but the car is a go.

Tight, solid vehicle. I bought the Sunlit Copper model and there isn't a day that goes by that someone doesn't stop me and ask what it is or compliment me on how it looks! I LOVE THIS SUV! Bose stereo is the icing on the cake! Rides like a dream and handles better than most cars I've had or driven, which are many. BMW X5 was my first choice, but for the money, I would buy a Murano any day!

I Love my Murano! Lovely to look at and great to drive. There is a lot of commentary regarding the CVT, but I like it. I get plenty of power for merging and passing, so I don't understand the nay sayers. The vehicle is wonderfully appointed and very luxurious. I have all the options except 4 wheel drive. (This city girl will never need it!) Perhaps if I were to change anything, I might put in a 3rd seat, but then it would be a minivan! I have plenty of room for groceries etc. No complaints from me! I just love this car!

Overall styling is refreshing when compared to other SUVs. Great fuel economy with good performance. The CVT drives well, but takes some getting use to as you don't "feel" the gears shifting. The interior and exterior has a wonderful fit and finish.

I have owned this Murano now almost 1 year and I must say I have had trouble! the interior back door panels had to be stuffed with foam @ the dealer to prevent rattle noise. The car has had 1 recall (altenator) and now just today I had a breakdown defective transmission. I probably will not see my car for a week, but I guess that can be a good thing. What else can go wrong? I will be going back to Honda or Toyota maybe even American. When this car drives it is nice, I like to say it feels like riding on glass, and it is comfortable but I do not tolerate breakdowns. Good luck I hope my narrative helps.

We bought the base model, but would like to have been able to afford some of the bells and whistles in the SE package. The engine and its performance is a good trade off for 18.6 mpg in (in city) fuel economy. All in all, we are very satisfied with our Murano. With the Nissan dependability this car is sure to have a good trade in value when we decide to buy our next Nissan.

My wife and I were in the market for another SUV. We already have an Acura MDX (which we love), so we wanted a smaller SUV. I had looked at the Toyota Highlander before and really liked it. However, once I saw and drove the Murano I knew it was the car for us. It's the perfect combination of size, comfort, flexibility and performance. I was surprised to see the Murano has many features you would expect to find in a Lexus or Acura...even some features our Acura doesn't have.

Choices: FWD or AWD, SE or SL, Color? Leather/Audio package? Sunroof? In the end, I got the base FWD SL in the glittery Pearl White with the wheels chromed for a little more pizazz. It is an awesome ride & handles nicely. The CVT transmission takes a little getting used to at a slower speed, but the "sport/second" feature makes up for any lagging at slower speeds. It is a head turner as well. Built on the Maxima platform with that award winning 3.5L V6 engine, with the chrome flash of the assertive front grill and door handles, plus my added chrome wheels, you might actually notice me driving around Orange County sometime.

We just purchased this "truck" for my wife and have absolutely no complaints. The Murano replaces a VW Jetta, so we love all of the space, but the Murano does not feel huge. It is larger than the small utes like the CRV that we looked into, but not as much as the Pilot or 4Runner. It fits us perfectly. The interior is awesome and the exterior gets looks from almost every passer-by. So far, we couldn't be happier.

This is a great suv and I really don't have anything bad to say about it. It's very sporty so it may not be for everyone, but its a heck of alot of fun to drive and its very roomy inside. Unlike what Edmunds says, the CVT transmission does not detract from any performance. I wonder if they really tested this model. I personally compared the performance to other Nissan cars with the 3.5 (Alitma & Maxima) and found that considering the weight difference it was about the same, but the CVT was alot smoother.

Having looked at several SUVs (both actual SUVs and crossovers) including the Toyota 4 Runner, Highlander, Lexus RX330, and Infiniti FX35 I found the Murano the absolute best bang for the buck. It offers more cool features (power adjustable seats, memory seating, Homelink systsem, Tire presuure monitors and on and on...) for the money than any of the other cars and it is extremely fun to drive. For an SUV this car handles like a sports car... tight steering and enough get up and go to keep you smiling through the turns.

I test drove many SUV's and nothing compared to the Murano. I see that they rank down the 1 speed transmission. However, even though it takes some getting used to because your waiting for it to shift, it gets up and moves. Especially, on the freeway. I've owned many cars in my life, but never a car like this. I LOVE MY MURANO :)

The Nissan Murano is the best mid-range crossover on the market. It is much too often overlooked. Unlike the Edmunds reviewer, we find it has plenty of power and the transmission is great. In recent snowstorms it performed better than we could have hoped for. On a long trip this summer, we were extremely comfortable and very happy with the gas mileage despite running the a/c constantly. We love the roomy seats you just don't get when there are 3 rows of seating. This is perfect size vehicle for empty nesters. The Bose sound system is awesome and the ride is smooth and quiet. For this price range, this beats all others we test drove.

Just bought it, so the Reliability score is meaningless. It's fun to drive though, and doesn't feel like an SUV. The SE's 6 speed "manual" shift option gives you more control of performance in that you can use the shifter rather than the gas pedal to control the RPM. The gas mileage is great for an SUV, but the rated 20 city will be hard to achieve - with spirited driving you'll easily fall as low as 16-17.

My 2003 Murano sets the pace for all crossovers to follow as far as style, roominess, power and smoothness. For all those who complain of the 'harshness' of the SE models'ride, I guess they have never ridden in a BMW before. The SE trim nets you a more agressive/sporty suspension. If you hate barracuda-stay out of the ocean! As far as the smooth as silk transmission-it not only does not sap the powerful engine but helps to turn in better performance times than all in its class and most in the next class above. Also it out brakes all in its class as well. Can you tell I love my Murano!

I have had my Murano about 6 months. I love everything about it. It drives like a dream and has the creature comforts that I have become accustomed to. The acceleration and handling are wonderful and I can pile a ton of items in the trunk area. I really like the instrumenation layout and find it futuristic in design. It is somewhat novel looking but I enjoy being a little different. I really haven't found anything I haven't liked about it. I was originally looking at the Pathfinder, Highlander and Envoy and I test drove them all. After driving the Murano, I was sold.

I purchased the vehicle based upon the looks, features and most importantly the interior leg room, (I'm 6'4" and have a limited variety of vehicles that will accomodate me comfortably). After driving the vehicle for several days I was pleased to find many luxury features that I was unaware of. This vehicle has plenty of power, a super smooth ride, excellent sound system and all the bells and whistles I could ask for. I recommend the Murano to everyone I speak to.

Very flexible fun to drive, great handling, quiet. Not sure why editors think the ride is harsh. It's just tight, but not uncomfortable at all. Gas mileage on first tank hovering around 21mpg. Interior lighting is poorly designed; both dashlight britness too high and coutesy lights lack britness and footwell illumination.

This is the most fun drive since my old Honda Prelude in '80. Quality of build is top notch, it does everything I ask even recreating the Cabot Trail Advertisement this year! Did fine off road on mountain trails, smooth ride, plenty of power. Center console is a bit awkward and the engineers should have included Mph/Kph conversion on the English/Metric Converter! Dont understand why no running lights on US models, just a cheap relay. Huge room in the back seat, enormous leg room in the front. This SUV is awesome, like driving a luxury car that goes like heck and pushes through snow like its nothing. Safe and steady and Fast, wish heated cloth seats were available. I'd buy it again.

My experience with the Murano has been of superior quality. It responds very well on the road, very stong engine, beautiful interiors, a very ultra modern design, top of the line accessories, includes a bose radio system! That is great. For the proce, nissan could have added a complimentary oil change and some other features, but overall, my rating is a 10!...murano is the car of my dreams.

Nicely styled, good instrumentation, the GPS system is exceptional. ONE BAD ITEM:The SAT XM radio was suppose to be part of my car audio package, but was NOT included, Nissan has refused to resolve this matter-even though 5 dealers said the would be included. NO XM. Otherwise a nice car overall! Comfortable seats, good driving visibility, mileage averages about 20,0 much better than most SUV's. CVT transmission has an unusual feel, however seems to work quite well. Handle well in the snow!

This car is the perfect compromise between sport and utility for a family. Great interior room and incredible looks and performance. Incredible ride. CVT is smooth and powerful - and I love the Ds gear for added power. Even during break-in, I can average 27 mpg on some highway trips. Have had none of the "infamous" rattle problems ... yet (fingers crossed). "Wind buffeting" problems have been fixed - no problems with sunroof or rear windows down at speeds over 45 mph. Got a great deal - invoice in Chicago. Contact me at shindig@lycos.com for more info. For the money and features, blows away the competition.

We looked for an SUV for about a month and this was the last one we looked at. My first thought was wow, looks like a pregnant space potato. My wife likes unique looking vehicles and once she drove it there was no turning back to the conventional looking SUVs. The 3.5L engine matched with the CVT is fantastic. The back seat is exceptionally large and the seating is very comfortable. The engines power and the CVT makes this one of the best rides we've had in the past seven years. Be sure to work out your best deal with about 4 Nissan Dealers. This vehicle is only 2 years on the market and there weren't any factory incentives at this time.
