Awsome reliability
In 2015 I bought a new Frontier SV crewcab because it was the most uncomplicated and best price at the time. 220,000 kms (138,000 miles) later its simplicity and durability continues to impress me. Basic maintenance has been oil changes, air filters, brakes and tires. The only other repairs has been the rear axle vent and a rear axle seal due to the plugged rear axle vent. I can't say enough about how impressed I am by this truck. So much so that I recently bought a low mile 2019 Pro4X. It will be my nice retirement truck as my 2015 has slowly become a well used and dinged up work truck. Frontiers are not the coolest mid size truck but I'd have to say its proven to be the lowest operating cost and most reliable truck I've ever owned.

Edmunds Educated Me
When shopping for a used pickup in 2020, I looked at Edmunds everyday for three weeks to educate myself about the features available. Edmunds helped me to become familiar with the prices and features of various model years available in my local market inventory. I liked that for several model years Nissan didn't make lots of annual changes and that parts were affordable. This vehicle included the factory backup camera, short bed, factory spray bed coating and Utili-track rails and 4 tie-down cleats. . In determining if I wanted to buy this particular high-mileage (115,000) truck, I scheduled time with a mechanic and took it there during the test drive. For $59 the mechanic gave me a written evaluation. It took about an hour. The car lot that was selling the vehicle agreed to do everything on the list including a transmission flush, oil and filter change, differential check, new wiper blades, and other stuff. It was great to have the written list to back up my request. Update: I bought this 2015 pickup in the Summer of 2020 and 4 years later it's still doing great. So far, I've replaced some hoses, tires and fixed an oil pan plug leak. Thanks Edmunds and thanks Top Notch Autocare in Tucson, AZ.

shopped for a 2018 bought a 2015
I ended up with a 2015 with 45000 miles on it. Not many bells or whistles but i only wanted a work truck. Price difference between 2018 and this 2015 was almost $9000.00 the main reason i went this way. So far looks like it will be a good truck for what i want gas mileage seems on the low side for a 4 cylinder other than that pretty much what i expected for the price. Time will tell .

good for just getting around town....
trying to use the 1/2 doors can be a challenge in parking lots where room may be a bit tight. it has zero acceleration (a prius beat me from light to light last week). i got stuck on flat ground in "wet" grass and had to be pushed off of it. it barely could handle a trailer that is 18"x4'x8' with firewood. i made the error ONCE of loading the small truck bed in addition to the trailer. i had to leave the trailer and come back for it later. climate control is as basic as it can get. dash vents, floor vents, defrost or 50/50 floor & dash vents, done. the interior feels very cheap and comes apart easily. i closed the drivers door one day (owners manual, two markers, dozen 60p nails, roll or survey tape), the weight pulled the door panel from the door. i drive appx 300 miles (290 highway) a week, it takes every bit of 20 gallons for that (appx 15mpg). 100,000 mile update : the heater core has drenched the entire passenger side with antifreeze. still trying to remove the smell (3rd cleaning so far). three estimates to actually fix this have ranged from a paltry $1280, to $1500. they have to remove the entire dash and pretty much all the components of it. the bypass "fix" was only $75 (but no heat or defrost now). transmission will drop two gears when trying to accelerate on the highway (6,000 rpm) just to keep up with traffic. If i could realistically afford to ditch this piece of crap, i would in a heart beat. it's useless to tow anything over 500 pounds. there is some good however.... you can change your own oil, and the tail gate works well. battery post eroded and it is a proprietary item only avail from nissan, so bring your wallet (set me back $30 because of that special design). no, i do not suggest this unless you are a 1st time driver lack of power won't get you in trouble, only fits one other person and two book bags. can NOT off road by any definition (even open fields would be a risk). the half doors are awkward but kinda work for putting work stuff back there (people do not fit).

Great Truck as long as you don't have problems...
I had a 2008 Frontier SV Crew-Cab 4X4 4.0L 6cyl 5A truck, loved it. Once I sold it, bought this one: 2015 SV CC 4X4 4.0L 6cyl 5A with Value Package, no Nav. Great truck, except for the bluetooth. It always defaults to automatically replying to text messages (Nissan Consumer Affairs and the dealership both acknowledge that this is a defect), but Consumer Affairs will not provide any support/update/fix, other than "We are aware." Test out your phone's connection before you sign on the dotted line. Like I said, love the truck, except for the faulty software programming and the significant lack of support from Nissan.
