Severely Underrated SUV
The first time I drove the Nissan Armada was a mistake. I was moving across the country and was given the Armada instead of the Suburban I had requested. Was I upset!!! I attempted to exchange the car for another SUV and was out of luck. I wasn't thrilled about the look and wasn't happy about the lack of cargo space. Well, after putting 2000 miles on the rental, I was sold. It got me across the country safely during the winter and in comfort. The SUV had power... tons of power. This beast could pass a car on the road effortlessly. It was quiet, smooth and unbelievably comfortable. I'm not a techie and enjoy simple things like a nice quiet cabin & smooth ride, easy access to the infotainment, a nice sounding stereo, moon roof, cup holders and brakes that don't squeak. In short, everything I needed was in the Armada SL and more. When it was time for me to trade in my Durango, I drove all the top SUV's before looking at the Armada, including the Suburban, Yukon, Telluride, Expedition etc... When it was time for me to drive the Armada, I knew immediately that the search was over. Nothing drove as smoothly as the Armada or felt as luxurious. I now have 57'000 miles on my big blue beast and have never had one issue. I've averaged about 16 mpg over the life of the car, terrible mpg for today's standards, but it wouldn't stop me from leasing/buying another Armada in the future. I was hoping that Nissan would have a new look for the 2024 model with better gas mileage, but it appears I'm out of luck. Before settling on an SUV, make sure to put the Armada on your list. The reviews have been harsh... too harsh.

Not Prefect so is MB and Bimmers/solid as rock
Definitely not a Gas sippers like Highlander Hybrid, luxurious X7, nor MB GLS 450. Yet, it growl like meanest vocal and powerful like the Tenor, Luciano Pavarotti. The engine sound really makes you want to push down the throttle, again and again. Soooo damm GOOD! Does Hybrid can reach 60MPH in 6.3 seconds? NO absolutely impossible, but the 5.6 litre Armada does. Does Bimmer X7 .4.4 or MB GLS AMG63 has price tag as reasonable as the MSRP of the ARMADA Platinum so like middle income earners, like myself, can consider to have one in their Garage. Oh!, don't forget all the bells and whistles that comes with standard unlike the x7 5.0 and AMG. In addition, end of the year or/and because previous generation model, you'll get hefty discount, like myself, did knock off $12K from fully loaded ARMADA Platinum's MSRP. How about that?! Already SATISFIED 100%. Outdated Infotainment ? Once enter into the driver's seat or any seats, you are deeply mesmerize by real leather seats unlike similarly equipped or better equipped TOYOTA SEQUOIA TRD PRO, which has leatherette not real leather. OH?!!! and don't forget even the 3rd row seat is REAL LEATHER!!! Anyone can adapt to master uncommon tech device and smallish buttons :( :) Just relax and tune for the Pavarotti's powerful tenor tone. The standard 13 speakers BOSE will please your ears. REMEMBER STANDARD for Platinum trim. Does MB or Bimmer included or Toyota Sequoia, GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe, Caddy's Escalade? Find yourself at the dealers. Silk smooth 4 corner independent suspension soak up the little ones, compare to solid real axle which is bit more bumpier. Remember the Armada can tow up to 8,500lbs. Steering feel loose but always nearly stay center and adjust accordingly with how the road surface is slope. However, body roll is very minimal and can confidently push this 6,000lbs beast to cornering. Alright, the Armada so far averaged 15 miles per gallon with UNLEADED not with Premium Unleaded gas. Of course been soft on the throttle, but don't know until when because the engine sounds so temptingly excellent feel like driving Mustang GT. Put 4 stars because of gas per miles gallon, but overall especially compare to 6 figure name brand vehicles? I'm not an automotive analyst nor critics drives tons of new fancy vehicles every year, but for the American Middle Income Earners, definitely consider to have this Armada PLATINUM!!! Recently, 2300 miles trip down to California. Comfortable cruiser on the tarmac. 20.07 MPG average. Quiet unlike no other . Reliability is on my hand like confidence after 5 years. No issues at all. Too bad Nissan will no longer offers 5.6 However, twin turbo 3.5 pro 4x with rear locker is rear deal that many armada enthusiasts been waiting for!!!

Armada -meh
The 2020 Nissan Armada had a nice soft ride and road handling was good. The suv drove more like a car than a truck. Plenty of room inside for our family of four and all our gear. On the negative side, gas mileage was low (15 mpg) . Air/wind noise above 55 mph was noticeable and annoying on long trips. The entertainment system is at least 4 years behind the industry. My 2015 Toyota had more advanced features than the Nissan. Most aggravating negative and the major reason I got rid of it was due to a vibration that started around 40,000 miles. Vibration would occur around the shift points (1200 and 1800 rpms) and tachometer would bounce around until it shifted. There was a very noticeable feel in the gas pedal and a audible droning sound especially if the car was under load. Multiple visits to the dealer and I was told they couldn’t duplicate it. I even drove with them and reproduced it easily but they said it was within normal behavior limits for the car. Well if that’s normal or acceptable for this manufacturer , then I would recommend to stay away.
Do Not Buy!
We bought a used 2020 Armada, low mileage and one previous owner. Worst vehicle I have ever purchased. Engine makes strange noise that dealership can't explain. Gas mileage is beyond awful. No where what website suggests. We have a seat that rattles that we've tried to fix several times. Now we're experiencing electrical issues. Driver's side no longer unlocks using the touch option. Touch screen glitches and moves around without being touched. Also, the navigation maps are so outdated it's ridiculous. Streets and business no longer there several years before 2020.
Could be so much better.
At this price the doors should be so “tinny” when you open or close them. Bring your largest gas card; this thing is a fuel hog; 5 hours of highway driving +$50 refuel. No car should be without Apple car play, particularly at this price. Very smooth ride on smooth roads, almost limo like. Very jumpy on turns with any roughness in the road, not very poised. Cruise control radar is very twitchy, better to run with it off if possible; it can make the truck brake very far behind the car in front even with the setting set as close as possible. Seats are ok, they feel flat and hard after a few hours behind the wheel, the leather seems to hold onto any stain. Needs an optional roller shade over the rear deck.

Like it again and again
Price tag much affordable compare to other same class SUVs very comfy and reliable good power towed 6’ by 12’ trailer from Pennsylvania to Florida fully loaded with ease good gas mileage for 6000 lbs truck with 5.6 engine highly recommend
12 miles per galon
The worst financial decision made. I had the car for 3 months, and I consider I wait to long to sell it. The gas consumable was ridiculously abysmal. 250 miles per 26 galon was the most. I have a 2007 Nissan Armada also, and no comparison. Don’t make the mistake I did. There are other cars in the market. Costumer service, hotline, the worst ever. They don’t even know basic math, and I spoke to more than 2 representatives. Do all bad around. I bought a Suburban 2021 and it heaven compare with the Armada.
