Used 2013 Nissan Altima Consumer Reviews
Break pedal
Has anyone else had an issue with their break pedal make squeaky noise. Im not talking about when its time to change break pads. This noise is coming from the bottom of the car when I apply the breaks. When I put the car in park, the car will rock back and forth(like all cars) just a tad, then rhe noise goes along with the rocking. Its very annoying. I wish I never seen this car, but i fell in love with it. When it idles for about twenty mins, say im sitting in it with it on, then i put it in reverse to leave a parking spot it dies on me. It starts back up though. Cant wait to trade it or sell it.

First Nissan we ever owned
We bought a brand new 2013 Altima 2.5L in June of 2013 for my wife. Was totally amazed at gas mileage, highway approx. 40 + mpg. To be truthful it was a very good car for us, UNTIL my wife tried backing out of a parking place and it would shutter and the engine dies over an over. Had to call tow truck to haul it to the dealer. Dealer calls the other day said we need a new transmission. I'm like WTF? a new transmission at 74,000 ???. After all my wife drives very careful not to abuse anything. The dealer said it would cost approx. $3825 for a rebuilt tranny. So I got online and could not believe all of the bad news about 2013 Altimas 2.5L transmission issues. It seemed to me from all websites, blogs etc. that there should have been a recall on the faulty transmissions they were selling. Now I know the warranty for drive train is 60,000 miles, my point is because there's an epidemic of these trannys going out before and shortly after 60,000 mile warranty. THEY SHOULD'VE HAD RECALL. I've called Nissans customer care and I waiting to hear if they'll cover the cost partial or in full. Will update when resolved. UPDATE: 3-5-2019 Well Nissan customer care agreed to pay 70% of the cost to replace the transmission with a remanufactured one. So that leaves us paying $1147. Not fantastic but we'll accept it. I just want to say that from the first time calling NCC about the transmission they treated me like I was family, everyone I spoke to there was 5 stars. I'm not just saying this because they're covering 70% of the cost, they were fantastic period. I wish Centralvalley Nissan where I purchased the Altima were just like them, but quite the opposite. Anyway I believe Nissan stands behind their product. Thank you Nissan customer care.

Great Car Except for Transmission Rumble
We purchased the 2013 Altima new and kept it for 50,000 miles and 5-years. The car was very comfortable, drove well, and had plenty of power for a 4-cylinder engine. Fuel mileage was excellent. Highway driving mileage averaged between 32 to 40 MPG depending on the wind direction. The only big problem we had with the car was the CVT transmission noise and rumble. It was worse in cold weather, but was always there. It was actually embarrassing to drive with a friend in the car the transmission noise. It made you feel the drivetrain was about to fall out of the car. The dealer replaced the alternator under warranty once and the noise got better for a while, but came back after six-months. This would have been one of my all-time favorite cars if the CVT transmission was quiet and vibration free! The dealer refused to fix it and said it was normal. That was laughable.
Good!
I have a 2013, 3.5S. I got it because it was on end of year special and I expect excellent things from Nissan. Normally, I go for smaller and sportier. This one is very sporty, lots of get up and go. The sound of the engine is actually throaty, with a growl, surprising. Not loud, but it sounds good. It handles pretty well but the stock tires are just ok in winter conditions, found out just today. The seats are comfy and with this version the stereo/high tech is minimal but still what I need. The configurable display is actually pretty techy but I guess I'm saying the S version stereo is minimal. Dunno if it is ok to say, but for 21K this was a steal of a deal. Had to buy at Xmas though.
Very impressed
I have been a Lincoln Town Car owner for over 30 years. When Lincoln discontinued the Town Car I was very dissapointed, and did not like the newer Lincolns. I leased an Altima 2013 S for my Wife, and was very impressed by the ride and the gps, and the ride. She gave up a Lincoln sl 2005. I decided to get one for myself, and traded a Lincoln Town car 2007. Best move I ever made. The Altima 2013 SV that I now own is amazing I took a trip from Florida to Mass. and back and used a little less than five tanks of gas. The ride was as good as the Lincoln and half the cost. Great car have no complaints. Want a good car buy this one.
