Used 2008 Nissan Altima Consumer Reviews
Nice cockpit
The car feels light for its size, and quite agile. Only one concern: the engine started to run rough already (some kind of knocking or ticking noise along with rpms).
Like Car But Has An Incurable Bug
I Generally like the car especially the gas mileage. Plenty of interior room, and trunk space. The only negative seems to be paring of the CVT transmission with a 4-cyl. engine. When starting uphill from a stop, particularly w/the A/C on, it feels like the engine is missing or that it is having difficulty shifting gears. I think it is the latter. I've taken it to the dealership 3 times, and they cannot find anything wrong and suggested I use a higher octane gas. That did not work (and defeats the purpose of buying a 4-cyl.). So, I use the shift control in the "manual" mode when going up a hill from a stop and do not experience the "missing" feeling.

Best Car I Ever HAd
I bought this car about two years ago and it is still fun to drive. The suspension is sporty and it really shocks people at the "get up and go" it has. I put on an nismo exhaust and cold air intake and it sounds aggressive and just down right mean. Plus it really helps with the mpg, i love the keyless entry and the push button start. I would 100% advice people to look in to this car. I looked at the camry and accord i just didn't feel the same amount of excitement i do from my altima. All around great car
Poor gas mileage, no suspension at all!
I'm leasing an 08 Altima 2.5s, which I'm ok with, as long as it takes me to work and back, not for fun. But I do not like a lot of things about it: GAS mileage is not going over 23.5 mpg probably like 60-40 hwy-city driving. I am not an aggressive driver, I accelerate slowly, computer shows that I'm getting 30-40 mpg but it's wrong all the time. It rides like there is no suspension at all, very stiff ride, noisy engine. I don't know if that's only my Altima, no good MPG, stiff suspension.
2 years old & not happy
Had owned a Maxima previously, that's why went back to Nissan. Not as pleased this time. Before 2 yrs old battery went dead. Replacement on stock battery was 50%. After market battery would have been 100%. Since new battery the brake light (indicating emergency brake is on) comes on randomly. Also the slip light & VDC light come on randomly. Seems to be sluggish at times.
