1999 Mitsubishi Galant
This car has been great to drive. It runs smoothly all the time and has had no major mechanical defects. I normally drive cars into the ground, but I dont think its possible with this car. It has 115K Miles and is going strong.
Excellent for the starters
I tried 10-15 used cars of different make before buying Mitsubishi. But the Galant gave me the smoothest ride, and even one full year after purchasing, it is as smooth as ever before.

Best Car
I haven't had no bad problems with the car, just a flat tire and a shield rattlen.
Great Car - Terrible Dealerships
Just coming down to the end of a 5 year lease on this car and am considering buying it at the right price. I still enjoy the look, the ride and the overall good reliability thus far. The dealership in Mentor, Ohio, where we got the car from are 100% con artists and getting it repaired at another local Mitsub. dealer was just as bad. At least it is now out of warranty and I take it to my own trusted mechanic. It is too bad that the owners of Mitsbu. do not get it together and treat its customers like they do at Lexus & BMW.
Great Car
my galant is lowered, black and 18s. Its great drives really smooth and has a great look.(Beamerlook)Everybody asks me if i bouught a bmw.I love the way this car drives, looks, and is comfortable.
Great Car
I've owned this car for over a year now and i love it just as much as the day I bought it. I've had several friends tell me that if you removed the badges it could pass as a bimmer. Great power for a 4 cylinder and the fake wood paneling make the interior very nice. Alloy wheels, spoiler, and moon roof are a must. The car is a little heavy though, maybe some weight reductions.
Best japanese car I've owned
OK, so it's not a Honda or a Toyota, but that could be a good thing. Styling is great, especially with a spoiler and it will kick butt with the V6. Want to spend 10-15K more for a second faster in the 0-60 range? Then I guess this car is not for you. Want a stylish car that you can probably pass down to your kids after 80-90K miles? Then this one could fit the bill.
Think Again
The 1st month the car was floodeddue to poor window seals. Both interior door handles broke off (recall) and I have had proably 10+ recalls. Tried to turn it in under the lemon law but it has to be the same problem 4+ times. I have has alignments and it still is not striaght and over 70 mph it rattles. The resell value is terrible and to fix any small part as in light covers is very expensive.
Strong daily driver
My 1999 Mits Galant is one of the best cars I have bought so far. Strong engine and Transmission, OK suspension, roomy and classy interior, and great body style. Only improvments needed would be the suspension. It seems that Mitsubishi wanted to make this car more sporty and stiffened the shocks and struts.
Three years together.
I got my present Galant ES used, with 17k miles in October of 1999, when it was under a year old. The design of Galant is sharp and stylish. They preserved that agressive edge which BMW lost in their newer "soapy" vogue of recent years. It's close to 55k now. I still love and enjoy the car. The 4-cyl engine actually feels like 6-cyl. It has 2.4L, so it is plenty of power on low RPMs. I had three safety recalls, free of charge. Just regular servicing thereafter.
We had a love/hate relationship....
I hated this car, but loved it so much at the same time. I totaled it not too long ago, and for one final time, it saved my life. I walked away without a scratch. The car, on the other hand.... It was pretty bad. My car had not been properly maintained (thanks to the person who had given me the car), so it had a LOT of issues. Aside from the issues, though, it was a great car to drive. I loved the way it handled. I always had fun driving it. I took it back and forth from Indiana to Virginia three times. We had some issues, but it got me there. It was pretty hard saying my final goodbyes to this car.
My old, boring, and outdated ride
This car may be fast because of its engine. My father thinks this is the best car he has ever had. This car may have a powerful engine I agree, but in my opinion I would say that I don't like this car too much. The reason is that this car has shown its age already. Go anywhere like hotels, restaurants, or even just shopping malls. Many of the cars I see are new or younger than this banger. Every time this car is in use I feel I'm lagging behind because this car is old while those people they have fairly or brand new cars. This car is outdated already. We have a 2004 Dodge Durango but we seldom use it because it's a gas guzzler. We also have 2004 Camry but my father says this is much nicer to drive.
