Love this E250 Luxury model
If you can, order the active multi contour driver's seat. It makes driving a real pleasure. The 40 plus mpg highway adds to the experience. Diesels are making quite a resurgence in the states, and for good reason. The suspension on the Luxury truly provides a much smoother ride than the Sport model. I highly recommend it and, at a minimum, try to drive both before you buy. It is becoming more difficult to find this type of "your father's" luxury car ride. Look no farther than this automobile. Buy one and enjoy the ride! Update as of 4/15/2016 -- Since I penned my original review, my statement regarding a resurgence of diesel cars in the states has taken a turn for the worse, given Volkswagen's troubles with testing. As recently as this week, Mercedes has come under scrutiny for exactly the same testing problems which falsely yield better mpg and emissions than reality might suggest. I will be pretty furious with Mercedes Benz if they were involved with this controversy. I purchased my car with the environment in mind and will feel deceived if they mishandled this ethical issue. Update as of 4/14/2017 -- Not much more to add. There is a second battery in the back of the car that is responsible for certain functions ( my favorite of which is the auto stop where you tap the brakes a second time and they stay on without your foot being on the pedal....great for long stop lights and hills), in any case that battery failed and was replaced under warranty. The ride is still very smooth and people still comment on how much they love the looks of the car!! Update as of 10/19/2017 -- Although the ride of the car still remains quite good, there is an option for air suspension costing around $2000 on the newer models about which Edmunds has written positive remarks. If I were to buy a new E class, I would add that feature.

Great ride, great looks, great performance
Even with the sports cars I've owned, I've not received as many or as frequent comments about the great looks of this car. In nearly 40 years of driving, this is easily my favorite car. Whether it is a trip to Home Depot by myself to load it with project materials, or filled with 2 parents and 5 munchkins for a birthday outing, this car really does it all. From both a performance and luxury standpoint, it is everything that you would expect from Mercedes. During inclement weather, this is absolutely one of the best snow-fighters I've ever driven - and that's just running standard all-season tires. I'm not the best one to quote gas mileage figures because I often run it in Sport mode in a very spirited fashion. And it does that very well, surprising quite a few other drivers at the stop lights.

new owner
just bought two 4 matic 2014's in nov 2016 with 14 k and 11k miles. polar white and indigo blue colors are beautiful. really impressed with the cars. classic grille and tri star on hood-hate the sport package grille and placement of the MB emblem. traded 08 e 350 for one of them. the 08 was a fine car but this new model is better, at least for 2014. Both cars are cpo luxury models. thought both purchase prices were good based on original msrp. have most options but not all of em. great highway car. electric steering at 65+mph straight as an arrow with no vibration. don't buy sport package unless your roads are perfect, too harsh a ride. love the dash and IP layout, analog clock gorgeous, even the fake metal surrounds look good. ride is very good on bumps but not great. handling in corners sufficient, brakes high and tight pedal. must have radio ON to enable back up camera-dumb! leds are bright-love em. wife loves her car too.

CPO E350 4Matic
Bought this car CPO with 2 years and 20k left on the original factory warranty, and 1 year unlimited mileage after that's done. Paid less than 31k for a 65k car that is less than 3 years old. Having been driving it for a month with no issues. Great car and great value for the luxury you're getting. I'll never buy a Merc new, I'll stick to the CPO route due to the ridiculous depreciation. The best cars though!

Regular Electronic Issues
Bought a 2014 e350 convertible with 11,000 miles on it. It was a MB certified pre-owned car. Fun to drive; problem was the drivers side window would not fully close. After four trips to the dealership in 4 weeks, the window would not still not consistently close. Hard to own a car you can't drive in the rain. The dealership was great - they tried the specified MB repair four times but it would not hold. The dealership took the car back with no hassle. MB was not good (: I spent $1,500 on prepaid maintenance that they would not return. Didn't matter that the car could not be used as a regular driver. You should be ashamed MB. My next convertible will be another BMW.
