Vehicle2013 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C250 Sport 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl Turbo 7A)
ReviewHaving traded in a G37 for this car, I am totally disappointed.
The engine is noisy and is now making a clattering sound that the dealership is trying to figure out.
I never had any sound issues with the G37.
Also, the performance is terrible.
I got the same mileage with the 328HP Infiniti as I do with this Mercedes and I didn't have to deal with a turbo and the lag.
By the way, the turbo lag is terrible.
If you stomp on the accelerator in E mode, you can fry an egg in the time you will wait for the transmission to get in gear to move the car.
All in all, this car is a terrible disappointment and I cannot understand why it gets such great reviews.
Worst Featuresget rid of the turbo and put a real V6 in there please. It mixed driving is only going to get 24 mpg, you might as well put in a V6 to get more power.

only the C250 has this problem. the people leaving positive reviews have the C300 and C350 variants. I test drove the C250 first and hated it for the same reason you said, it lacks power. same goes for the BMW 320. the C300 is a much better car than the C250 and the G37. even though the C300 is rated at only 250 hp, it is just as fast as the G37, but the COMAND system is a much better GPS/entertainment system than the garbage Nissan sticks in the Infinities and Nissans (both brands the same exact electronics and there is no distinction between the two brands). I own the C300Report it

In all fairness you went from a 328hp car to a 201hp car; you have to expect to notice that. You talk about stamping on the gas in economy mode, but the whole point of economy mode is for better mileage not stomping on the gas. I also don't really understand why, if performance was your priority how you didn't notice that this vehicle was too slow for you during the test drive.Report it
