Used to love the car, but so unreliable...

I used to love the car until recently, but I now cannot wait to get out of my lease. It is the perfect size for me, comfortable, easy to navigate, and have everything I need. However, I clearly got a defect car with a bad ignition system. The car is only 15 month old, and I got it as a brand new. I have less than 5,300 miles on it. Everything was fine for the first 1 year. Then in this April, I drove 30 miles away from my home, and parked on the side street for coffee. When I came back, I was not able to turn on the engine, and MB Roadside Assistance told me that the key didn’t recognize my car. I had to wait for 3 hours to get my car towed. It took 2 weeks for MB to replace the igni

I have owned BMW’s, Jaguars etc and for the first time ever, I now own a Mercedes-Benz (We’ll call it MB). Although I have owned the car for a few months only, so I far I can safely say ‘no regrets’. After shopping for a new car, I finally had narrowed it down 5 choices… The Jag XJ type, the Licoln MKS, Ford Explorer and the MB GLK. Then it all came down to the Lincoln MKS or the GLK (what a contrast hu?) and I chose the GLK. Well, one thing led to another at the show room and I ended up driving the c250 out of the lot. Why? Let’s just say it drove like a champ– and with a twin turbo (fully warranted under MB for 5 years and a special offer of free services for 3 years) it feels like you ar

TOO MANY ISSUES - Stay Away!

Keep in mind I owned the car for only 10 MONTHS due to so many problems. Here we go- Replaced spark plugs two times, the second time I had replaced all ignition coils as well. I used NGK Platinum Iridium plugs, and OEM Beru coils. Two months later, the driver side door handle broke internally (common issue). Wasn't surprised because just like everything else in and outside the car, it was made from cheap plastic. Dealer said it would cost $800 to fix because a new door panel would need to be installed because the little handle couldn't be detached from the door panel itself. So I just ordered a new door handle + other misc. tools to fix the door, costed me $30 but about 3-4 hours of my own labor due to the over-engineering of the door. But saved myself HUNDREDS. Car had an oil leak the first week I got it, had that fixed, then 10 months later, another oil leak happened again. Had to get speaker on the dashboard replaced due to it failing and making it impossible to listen to music without hearing a loud rattling and static sound. Had to replace a coolant hose because it was leaking on the exhaust (not sure how or why the car didn't catch fire) but that was made from cheap plastic. Engine wasn't getting up to normal operating temperature in cold climate, had to replace thermostat. Cost $600 and seemed to help the issue somewhat... car still took a while to warm up compared to a lot of other cars. Power tilting, and telescoping steering wheel kept getting stuck... had to literally bang on the steering wheel to get it un-stuck. When I got it unstuck the 4th time I decided to just turn off the convenience feature for peace of mind. Overall, I replaced about a dozen things (wish I was joking!!), hard for me to remember all the things I had to get fixed because it all happened within 10 months. But these were the more major things that I only remember. With that said, the car a lot of the times felt like it didn't have power when stepping on the accelerator. Even after the spark plug and ignition coil change. Could've been another issue I'm sure. The turbo lag is REAL, so except a delay when putting foot down and actually getting power. Also cabin noise wasn't great! Happy to have ridded myself of the worst car I've ever owned! This experience has made me never want to be a MB customer in the future.

C300 4matic AMG trim

Purchased my 2013 C300 4matic AMG package from an off lease company 2 weeks ago with only 21k. The car is finished in magnitte black mica with all of the AMG touches you would expect from Mercedes. From the exterior the car has a lowered ride heigh, specifically tuned for the AMG models as Mercedes claims, lowered exactly 0.5mm / more aggressive front styling / side sills and rear bumper matched with an AMG rear trunk spoiler which is very inconspicuous until up close. Nice touches. On the inside, it keeps going. 2 tone suede inserts with faux leather sides, the front seats are heavily bolstered and could feel it immediately while sitting, let alone driving, no movement of any kind coming from my 5'6 140 pound body. Feels like a glove around you. Interior dash is brushed aluminum with clear and easy to read dials of all kinds, the COMAND system is amazing and simple to used compared to MMI and other units. The black headline is a nice touch as well.the 3 spoke multifunctional steering wheel is firm and has a solid feel to it, it's also stitched in red to to match the Interior accents, the biggest obvious part of the AMG package is the red seatbelts, Terrific addition to set it apart from other models and this feature is limited to only the AMG package. Throw on factory 18' AMG sport rims and low profile tires and the car is now more set apart from the crowd. Overall I am pleased with this car, VS. a BMW. Why? Because Mercedes is more then a status symbol, often it's overlooked for its mechanical achievement and reliability as opposed to be related to having money. Update: now with 51k on the clock this car has been faultless. 2 Minor things to note are the tires and windshield wipers. Went through 6 since purchased car, can't find wipers except for dealer. Mechanically 110% sound

Update still have my car September 2019 and still loving it. Matinence can be a bit pricey but knew that going into it. Plan on having it for a long time ❤️
