Awesome Affordable performance
This is my third Miata after owning a 1990 and then a 1994 model. I have owned many cars from cheap imports to a Lexus LS 400. In my opinion the Miata is the most trouble free car on the road to own and operate, and a joy to drive. I put over 100,000 miles on the first one and only replaced an $8 headlight (excluding routine oil changes, tires, and filters). The only weakness I have seen in these cars is that the OEM spark plug wires do not last that long. Replacement spark plug wire set will last for another 100,000 miles and cost around $30-35. This car is always a blast to drive and will never leave you stranded.
Big Time Fun
When you buy a Miata, avoid the special editions. Why? See, you'll fall in love with the car, and when you own a special edition, every little scratch, nick and ding sends you over the edge. You'll end up storing the car rather than driving it. Get a regular Miata with cloth seats and drive the hell out of it. It can take abuse with a smile.

Most fun car I've had since my Alfa Romeo in 1967
NIMBLE is the word! Short throw on the clutch, wonderful acceleration, braking, and turning. Short turning radius. FUN!

Driving a vintage Miata M edition is almost a sin.
I’m the second owner of a 1997 Miata M Edition Mica green/tan interior/ factory hardtop.. I restored it ( body work/dents/plaint during COVID 19 after it sat for several years . It has 87000 miles Mechanically it’s been superb. The ONLY maintenance has been normal wear/tear items. The engine and transmission have never been touched other than oil/fluids plugs, belts, and 1 throttle box and water pump. It’s the cheapest car to own and maintain. There are plenty sources of parts other than dealers. It’s sinful because a an owner must think that he/she is sinning because he/she is having SO MUCH FUN driving it.
