MX-3 - princess of power
I've been driving my 1995 MX-3 V-6 for 6 years now and I'd rank it with any coupe of any make, price range or year! Peppy, great looking, reliable, like any car of the Mazda line. Give it regular mechanical maintenance and a little body TLC and it will love you back. A Porsche tried to race it on the highway the other day--and lost.
Great Car!
I bought this car 5 years ago and it had over 140,000 miles on it. I have never had a serious problem with it. it's so much fun to drive. I highly recommend it to anyone. Great value, very reliable and great design.
Gas Milage Joy Ride
I have had my Mx-3 for a year now and I have had nothing but fun with it. The only real work done to it was the usual water pump and timing belt replacement. The car is economical and sporty at the same time. I love the gas milage compared to the typical gas hogs. I would suggest this car to anyone, especially those looking for a car you don't see everyday.
Good Summer Drive
Great car for the summer. Lots of fun to drive. Never have had problems with it until i wrecked it in the winter. Not the cheepest car to have body work done but has some nice aftermarket kits.
Red, A Partner To Endure With
I love my MX-3, even though the dependability rate is low I have not had any major problems. I replaced the radiator at seven years old and the axels at 6 (accident). She still runs well and looks good. The interior holds up wonderfully and with a monthly shampoo, and bi-weekly vaccum she is a sight for sore eyes. The look, ride, and control of the car I rate a 9. A 10 if she had leather seats.
A really reliable car
I've had my MX3 since 95. Bought it new and it has been a great car. Other than normal stuff like brake pads, tires and oil changes the ONLY major fix was a new set of spark plug wires, which took the {bleeping} mechanic several attempts to trouble shoot so it cost more to fix than it should have. It has decent performance, but it's real strengths are handling, and the interior space/comfort. I have carried an entire Futon home in that car, and was able to close the back hatch! This car has been VERY reliable, like most pre-Ford Mazdas. (don't buy a Tribute, or a Ford Focus!) The interior is constructed from very high quality materials. Bill V.
Excellent
For a 10 year old car, with 110k miles on it, this has given me fewer problems than every Civic my friends or I have owned. Nothing beyond routine maintenance and gives me better mileage than a comparable Corolla. Not to mention the most important part - it's a lot more fun to drive than either of them.
AWESOME CAR!!!
This car is great!! Handles well both in the rain or snow. In fact it makes it hard for one to trade it in! But people often hit the front of the car (SUVs) due to it sits so low. Needs more power but not much to maintain! Costly for repairs or maintance but worth it. I'm not looking forward to replacing this car... Great first car or just driving.
MX3
Not bad the drive is very smooth and comfortable. Pickup is a little slugish and the visibility out the rear driver side is very poor.
economic yet sporty!
this car is SO fun to drive. while it has its fair share of mechanical issues and kinks. it is still incredibly reliable, and should last a longggg time if maintained properly. if you plan to buy this car do your research! mx-3.com has a tech forum which details most of the common problems found on this car. most of the problems are minor. that aside, the car is zippy, its sporty, and its FUN. it handles like its on a RAIL. not only that it gets good mileage, and it's easy to maintain. i wouldn't trade my mx-3 in for anything out there today! :)
94' MX-3 GS
This is a great little v6 engine. I bought it used with 183,000kms and it now has 200,000.... i have not had a single engine related problem and it runs good and pulls hard. Also has original tranny, and at 200,000 kms, thats one good reason why imports are great and GM's SUCK !!!
Reliable
This car is very reliable with a unique look and a good balance of pickup and power while maintaining 25- 30 mpg. I replaced a rusted muffler at around 50k miles, both CV joints at around 60k miles and the roters and pads at around 73k miles. I consider all of those to be standard maintenance.
good car
I have been the first owner of my car and aside from my regular maintenace of the car, I have had no really major problems. Well worth the money spent.
I Love this Car!!!
Beautiful car, especially in Brilliant Black (which I obviously own). Very roomy for such a small car. Great handling, great performance for such small displacement. I have very little rust and it is 13 years old! A/C is still going, that is a plus for me. Only problem I've had with this car, is that the valve cover leaked a little oil onto the manifold cover and smoked a bit (which could happen to any car), but some gasket sealant can solve that problem. I've only sat in the back seat of my car once, just to see how it felt. They could be a little more reclined, but I'm not riding in the back so it's not my problem... HA HA!
Knigh Rider
The car is fun to drive. It is pretty fast on the street as well as on the hgihways. No major repairs except clutch replacement and shaft bar in 4 yrs.
Mazda's forgotten sports car
I bought this car new in 1995. The looks and handling is what sold me and after 7 years, it still looks great (most people I know think it is a MUCH newer car, the usual guess is 1999 or 2000 model)It is the most reliable car I have ever owned, no problems at all in the entire time I've had it. The main difficulty that I've had is the lack of aftermarket support, making any improvements (such as trying to increase power, the one thing this car could use more of) a challenge.
Good Price, Great Car
I bought this car new February of '96. I've had very little problems with the mechanics of the vehicle. Mostly just routine maintenance (oil change, tires, battery) although earlier this year I did have to replace the right half shaft. It was only a $120 repair and considering I've had the vehicle for more than 7 years I'd say that's not bad. I will be in the market for a new car soon..but I'm not parting with my MX-3. I will probably keep it till it won't drive anymore and fix it up with a body kit or something next year.
mx3owner
This is a very economical car that hates gas. I have no problems with my MX-3. Excellent handling and fun to drive.
Love to Drive
This car is fun to drive, and believe me I love to drive it.
Excellent Car
I've had an mx-3 for a couple years now and like it very much.
Fantastic car
My wife bought her MX3 GS new in 1994, and it still has under 40,000 miles on it and is still like a new car. Granted she has not put a lot of miles on it, and it is garaged all the time, but this has honestly been one of the absolute most trouble-free cars I've ever seen. Add to that that it is fun to drive, looks good, it's comfortable and relatively economical. After 18 years of ownership my wife still loves her MX3 and never even considers that she might want somethng newer. Only regular upkeep (oil changes, 1 set of tires, 2 batteries, 1 tune-up and we did the 60K scheduled maintenance at 30K just because of its age), and 1 minor repair (cracked air hose). Hard to beat
94 MX-3 GS
Awesome little car!! One of the best cars one can buy for bang for the buck. A total blast to drive. Very fast and very quick.
WOW
Well, I love cars. I love fast cars. I love fun to drive cars. My Mx-3 1.6 DOHC is awesome. But honestly it's got no pull in the bottom end. But wind her up, and she gets going. It corners like a dream. I can easily take a 90 degree city street turn at 40 with out gettin at all afraid of loosing it. It's a great car for windy fun roads. I love the styling and the room for such a small car. I can fit my whole drumset in it and still have room for a passenger! What a great car.
fun car
I bought my car new in 96, it was a leftover from the previous year. I have had no problems at all and it is a blast to drive. It would be nice to have more power and a little softer ride, but the stiff ride makes for great handling. The only thing I didn't like is that it didn't come with a factory clear coat, so I had it repainted with clear coat. It's style is still more current then some 2003's
more than happy
I have owned my Mazda MX-3 for five years now, and I have never had any major problems with it. It still looks great, fits in with all the new sporty cars, and is fast! My only problem with it is the placement of the cupholders, and that the backseats are a little too small. It's so easy to find replacement parts for it anywhere online, and the gas mileage is incredible. It's such a reliable car, and is so cute for anyone. I'm more than happy with my purchase.
very good car
good car over all needs more space the car is small but is very reliable ann economical in gas
