2024 Mazda CX-90 Consumer Reviews

Nice but does not compete with Premium brands
I read a few reviews stating that the CX-90 competes with premium brands and it does not. The ride quality is good but the acceleration is lacking compared to the GLC300 and the X3. I would imagine the CX-90 competes more with the X5 in size but I would not even remotely consider the CX-90 to be in the same class as the X5. The power and delivery of the B58 straight six is unrivaled in this class. The CX-90 electronics are lacking with no touch screen or wireless Android Auto or CarPlay. The shifter layout is funky and I can see new users stepping out with the vehicle in reverse. I had a sketchy incident with the car in EV mode. I was making a u-turn on snow and the touched the accelerator and the car almost spun out. It seemed to apply too much power even though I barely touched the throttle. It was fine when the engine was running. Aside from that, the CX-90 was very competent in the snow. My experience was in a week long Turo rental in the Rockies. I own a 23' X3 and drove a 23' GLC300 as well as a 23' X5 so the CX-90 misses the mark when compared to any of those vehicles. The only advantage the CX-90 has is that it can be purchased as a Hybrid. It is not a bad vehicle but I would not compare it with MB or BMW.
