You should get one!
I’ve only been driving it for 2 weeks but it has exceeded my expectations (primarily based on other online reviews and a couple of test drives prior to purchasing) so far. Love the styling and overall performance.

Mazda CX-9 touring w/premium package
After 18 mos we still feel this is an excellent car for the money. The power is terrific, super quiet and no rattles, handles well In snow and ice and the safety features are much appreciated. Electronics such as GPS, music, warnings are top notch, albeit does take a little study. The only criticisms are that the third row seating is not really practical and the driver seat is tight for a big guy like me, little space to click the seatbelt. Mazda Corporate customer service is squirrelly. The polycarbonate tail light separated where the black and clear plastic join after one year. This is a manufacturing flaw and we get no support from the dealer or Mazda USA. The dealer quotes $755 for a replacement tail light. Other than this issue the car is very nice.

In love with our 2019 CX-9 !
It's a fun to drive luxury vehicle! It has all the modern technology and safety features!! Love the body style and interior!!
I love my Mufasa CX-9 !! A true Lion King
I love the Tech in my "Mufasa" CX-9 it is truly impressive with one exception, No TPM display. A vehicle of this caliber should have a readout for all four tires, in that way a owner can know how much air is needed when needed. Standout features HUD, Captain Chairs, hands free tailgate, Android Auto and so much more. The downsides are getting into the second row is somewhat difficult , the driver seat not as comfortable as an Infiniti or Lexus and not enough legroom for rear seat passengers to extend . But no car is perfect but my Mufasa is getting there and does so in a very stylish manner unlike the Koreans. I cant wait to see what they have to offer especially now that they are partnered with Toyota. Because of this partnership I bought the CX-9 Update as of June 30th, 2024 I still love my CX-9 ,but as new products roll out year after , there are few things I yearn for . It is still very fuel efficient for a vehicle its size, but its lacking the get up and go that you get from a 6 cylinder ( Zoom zoom ) due to the 4 cylinder. Nevertheless the turbo is still quite punchy. I always use premium gas and as result the vehicle runs like a Toyota. When it comes to long trips the padding is lacking in the right places. Becomes very uncomfortable especially for the left knee. I hope the new CX-90 or CX-70 made the adjustments. Finally I would recommend getting a 2021 vs 2020 due to the wider screen , wireless Android Auto, and wireless charging. Otherwise this is an excellent luxury vehicle whose design language suggest it is " The Japanese version of the BMW X5 "

Almost But Not Quite
The 2019 CX 9 Signature is two stars shy of being a bonafide luxury car. The exterior rear view mirrors are not programable. Unlike older model CX 9s, or any luxury car I can think of past or present, programing the driver seat does not also program the mirror position. However, the HUD is programed with the seat. It is an unfathomable omission. All weather floor mats are included for all three rows but not the cargo area?? A luxury car is what it is in the details. The Signature edition has a lovely interior overall. Contrasting colors in the seats, dash and front doors add flair. There is also matching contrast stitching on the leather wrapped steering wheel and doors. But.... The contrast stitching on the leather that wraps around the shift lever is white. Picky? Maybe. But all of this adds up: Someone at Mazda wasn’t paying attention to the details. But the biggest complaint I have is with the Mobile Start app. It sucks. No other way to say it. It has extremely limited functionality. Most annoying though is that you have to both login and enter the PIN to operate it. No facial recognition? This is especially unforgivable because you pay extra to have it installed and on top of that there is a $65 annual subscription fee. These are some glaring omissions that other reviewers don’t seem to be bothered by. But if you’re able to drop $47,000 for a luxury car, you should know the downside as well as the upside. I concur with nearly all of the positive reviews I’ve read. I love the car overall. But every time I drive it, it’s as if the car says, “Yes, you bought a luxury car. But, it’s a Mazda.”

Phone connectivity not good.
Make sure your phone is compatible with the car bluetooth system. I have a Galaxy s8 and it wont sync for voice dialing or any functions needing the contacts. I looked at the web site and found that only old phones are compatible, like the S6 and Iphone 6. This threw me back a few years, with an earpiece on my ear, dialing by hand!

fantastic drive with just a couple of shortcomings
Drives great; interior finish is luxury standard; exterior design is catchy; trunk room is short compared to rivals; and infotainment system is slow

Fantastic SUV
I have had many different SUV's and this is the best by far.Power from the turbo 4 is instant and seamless . Good gas mileage on regular fuel. The simple 6 spd transmission is smooth and never hunts for gears. No dreaded stop start at corners.Mazda keeps it simple and everything works with no fuss.Luxurious interior is a cut above. An excellent automobile.

Mazda wins out!
I had leased my Mazda 3 years ago. I liked this car so much I chose to buy it outright when the lease was up.
Bang for the buck
Wife loves it. It make her feel young and sensual again. It has been a bang up decision for everyone! I am not joking...great price and I am getting what I wanted out of the deal! Yea..I would have bought another car but like that say whatever gets you rocks off!

Not a nice vehicle
I currently am driving a 2020 CX9 I know everyone have their opinions about a vehicle but I do not know where people say this is a smooth quiet vehicle. Even worse when some of the reviewers say this is the best vehicle they ever owned. What were they driving before a skateboard. The ride is way to firm and you feel all the bumps in the road. Not to mention the humming sound as you are driving. The seats are uncomfortable and even when you roll the windows down it sounds cheap. Unsure if people who say this is a great vehicle were paid or work for the company but nobody in their right mind would say this is an great vehicle.

Mediocrity mobile
Drives fine. Looks decent. Comfortable enough. Buttons, dials and switches are impossible to get used to. Unintuitive interface will frustrate the best of ‘em. Back up cam has the resolution of an Atari game.

Not-Reliable Shaking/Vibration at an idle state
Bought 2019 cx-9 and I have been driving this vehicle since last 2.5 years. Below are the really really bad problems which are completely unacceptable. I had a 13 year old Toyota Camry which was much more stable than this. - [Untrusted stability]: since last 2.5 years, its been 4 times I have experienced, the bad shaking and vibration under driver/passenger sheet - [Unreliable] Infotainment system shuts down, car needs to be restarted to make it functional. - [non functional] The 360 Camera takes 40 to 1.2 minutes to switch to 360 mode I have complained service guys but they don’t have any clue. **I will NOT recommend this vehicle to any of my family and friends.
Great mom car
Fun, sporty, comfortable, roomy. It is the perfect upgrade from my mini-van. Safety features are excellent now that I have a student driver. Driver seat is extremely adjustable...my daughter is 4’ 9”and she was just as comfortable as her hairy monkey man oo oo ah ah who is 5’10”. Can’t wait to try it in the snow!

Best vehicle I’ve ever owned!
I’m 62 years old so I was serious when I purchased this vehicle a few years ago. I knew I wanted a comfortable back seat for my passengers, specifically my son. I researched on Consumer Reports for great ratings and drove the MAzda CX-9 and Suburu Outback. The backseat was the dealbreaker. The Subaru’s back beat wasn’t comfortable for trips.

Quite, it’s not the Mazda of yesterday… I love it
This was the quietest SUV out there. At 58000 miles I had to replace the battery. I have had no issues and love driving this 2019 touring addition CX-9 MAZDA. I would buy it again.
