Fun car!
Just bought a 2014 with all the options (leather, sunroof, tech package, navigation). Fun car to drive! Too soon to rate the reliability but so far we are loving it!

Does everything great. New tires at 60k miles & brakes are still in great shape. As a 215,000 mile Subaru Outback owner from 2005 - 2013, I was surprised how well the Mazda AWD performed. It is very quick to correct motion in foul weather. I have high hopes for keeping this well into the 2020s. Update at 90k miles: No surprises, just works. Phone music integration is sometimes frustrating, but it does work. Update at 110,000 miles: Nothing new to report, it just works, still attractive and a pleasure. Compared to some newer cars the transmission & engine integration is not as smoothly refined as the latest models. That comes down to software. Paint is holding up great, but would be better if people would be more gentle in parking lots. A number of dents.

CX5 review
I was extremely happy with the car. My repair expenses were limited to less than $500 over the period of six plus years of ownership. I had to replace two sets of tires and one battery and I had 71,000 miles on the car. My car had the original brakes and when I traded the car the brakes were good for another six to none months. I did change oil and filter at least twice a year in the last seven years

Give me a brake
Somewhere in the back end body metal wise it creaks and rattles, I'm thinking it's the rear covers over the glass in the hatch, go over 60 or in a strong wind and they rattle like mad, with only 25 miles on the car. when I hit 15k on milage the mpg dropped dramatically, from 33 to no more than 25 mpg. at 30k my brakes starting fading and shuddering on braking at freeway speeds, I've replaced the rotors and with less than 1k on them the shudder came back, I've tried the reseating the brake pads to no good effect ie breaking them in properly. on the road. The electrical system kills the battery , replaced battery and a few days later it died as well I would not have another Mazda like this. Not reliable at all.
