good as new
We have had our 2022 CX-30 Turbo Premium Plus for about 32 months now. Excellent turbo engine. A real sleeper. On the 2nd day we had it we found the glaring blemish. Whenever you lower and then raise the rear seats the sharp front edge of the very thin, cardboard-like (and flimsy) cargo floor digs into the lower rear seat fabric and forces it to bunch up and get trapped on top of the cargo floor. We researched it and found that many customers have had this same problem for all the model years with no resolution from Mazda. We fixed it ourselves. Since we already know what the 2025 are, we might replace it with another one because the CX-50 and 70 lease prices are too high. We do like the CX5 because it has a better ride due to true 4-wheel independent suspension and more hip and shoulder room in the back seat plus they lease very well. The CX-30 especially the Turbo Premium Plus has all the features you could want but the back seat is a little snug for 3. We will see..but the CX-50 does not have a wider back seat.. We will compare lease prices for the CX-30 versus CX-5. Plus now in 2025 it is illegal for NY dealers to charge lease-end disposition fees so we will save money that way also by getting the replacement from a NY dealer versus NJ. So almos t 3 years old and the car feels and looks like a brand new 2025 version.

CX-30 is not without its (many) flaws
Not including the potentially serious oil consumption issue, there are many pros and cons to CX-30. Mine is a 2022 with only 1,000 km on it.. The model I purchase is not nearly as great as the once I test drive. The $2,000 “luxury” package is a great deal with a host of features (which I don’t have) and the seats are literally twice as comfortable as a model without it, (probably including the full leather package). And so, initially, test-driving CX-30, the comfort and coziness of the cabin with the luxury package, and the cars handling / steering responsiveness stand out as great features compared to many other SUVs (or CUVs) that I test drove. I was leary of the infotainment system before buying it, and with good reason. The Apple-Play malfunfunctions all the time, so good luck in using your phone’s nav with the car display. The typical error message is “Apple play cannot be used while Apple play is being used”. The worst part is that you can’t replace this system with an aftermarket stereo. My old 2006 Acura had a far superior infotainment system to this one. Transmission: The car’s is constantly shifting gears up and down between 100-110 kph. And the 2.5 liter engine sounds like a sewing machine. Seat belt alarm; alarms as soon as you start car of undo seat belt; quite annoying. Key Fob is huge! … Almost twice as big as fob for my old Acura, and buttons are super tiny, almost impossible to find when the massive fob is in your pocket. And don’t drop it, or the case with split open on the ground and spoil your spare key that your hopefully able to find. Paint (Machine Grey) is a huge disappointment compared to all the gorgeous metallic paints out there. Silver was not an option this year. Driver’s door wedge shape is “dangerous”; almost knocked my teeth out with it once. Computers. Note that car is run by computers, even the steering. Guessing there’s several hundred of them (to go wrong).

Love my CX-30
My CX-30 is a great smaller size SUV with AWD. I love body style, how it drives, and the great gas mileage.
