2021 Lotus Evora GT Review

The U.S. sports car market is already pretty slim, and it's soon to become even slimmer with the departure of the low-volume Lotus Evora GT, which ends production after 2021. The Evora GT had just hit its stride, too, after receiving its biggest update in 10 years for 2020. The sports car was a dream come true for driving purists, but it's not without its flaws.

Staying true to Lotus founder Colin Chapman's minimalist design philosophy, the Evora's cabin affords room for a driver and passenger and not much else. The Evora also isn't big on creature comforts, offering the bare minimum of convenience and tech features and none of the advanced safety features you've come to expect on a high-priced performance car. But if you want an undiluted sports car experience, few cars on the market can give it to you like the 2021 Lotus Evora GT. The 2021 Lotus Evora GT is offered in a single trim that's powered by a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 that makes 416 horsepower. Torque varies based on the choice of transmission, with the standard six-speed manual transmission sending 317 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels and the optional six-speed automatic upping it slightly to 332 lb-ft. There's seating for two, though Lotus offers a small rear seat as a no-cost option.
