20,000 Mile, 4 Season Review

I still am giving the NX Five Stars, even though there is one negative which has been irritating me for 6 months, Lexus has still failed to deliver the second set of keys for my vehicle. I was one of the first people to get the 2024 model in June and it was initially promised in August. I learned only when taking delivery that the chip shortage prompted Lexus to only provide one set of keys initially. The NXh has been through all 4 seasons in NE Ohio and several long road trips fully loaded. This includes snow, high mountain passes, off road, high temperatures and downpours. This was also my first hybrid. Since I was extremely happy with my 2019 Genesis G70, my first choice was a new GV70. It test drove very nice, but the NX 350h was far more technologically advanced, that goes for the Volvo XC60 I was considering as well. I rely heavily on consumer reviews and the Lexus NX 350h was a real mixed bag of people really liking or not liking it. I am convinced the bad reviews were either heavily biased or the people just didn’t know how to operate the car! The technology on this car is amazing and can be intimidating for someone who does not read the owner’s manual! Fortunately, in the 5 months I was waiting for the car, I downloaded the Owner’s Manual and MultiMedia Guide. Reading these really prepared me for the arrival of my NX. The Tutorial Part 1 and Part 2 on YouTube by Melissa O’Connell is a must for going over the features of the car inside and out! The customization on the NX is incredible, but you have to be familiar with how navigate the various menus and it takes a while to digest each option. But when you do, it will be a car that will fit perfect to your needs. The amount of room in the NX should not be a surprise, I looked at the specifications for cargo volume and I saw for myself how much room there is before I purchased the car, for a compact SUV, there is plenty of cargo and legroom space. My wife and I have a lot of gear we pack for trips and have no trouble finding room This car is everything I expected and more! I was a little apprehensive about getting the Rioja Red interior, but it is not overpowering and blends very well with the Black Prism. With the Atomic Silver exterior, it is a great match. After driving it for 20,000 miles so far, I still get a charge out of starting the ignition and not hearing a sound and starting my drive on all electric. In colder temperatures, it will run less frequent on electric. The transition to the gasoline engine is seamless. The fuel economy, low 40’s city, mid 30’s highway, in colder temperatures, you can subtract 5mpg! 95% of the time I drive in the Eco Mode and there may be a little difference in fuel efficiency with 87 octane gas, but not much. I did get significantly worse fuel economy while driving out west which may have been because of the higher ethanol content in the gas because it immediately improved once we got to Illinois. The NX drives extremely smooth and is as quiet as any sedan I have had. The engine does not have the power as my other sedans, but that is an easy tradeoff for great fuel economy. It certainly has adequate power and quickness. The instrument panel and MultiMedia screen are all very easy to use once you read the instructions. I have the 14” screen which really makes viewing easy. I do like the heads-up display, but don’t really use the digital mirror much, it is harder on the eyes and not as clear. If the cargo area is full of gear, the digital mirror would come in handy for better visibility. Lexus clearly goes out of its way to make this a very safe vehicle with a plethora of features. The seating is extremely comfortable for long trips, no fatigue or discomfort. The climate control system adds to that comfort with uniform heating and cooling. The run flat tires are much quieter than I thought they would be. For being a compact SUV, the standard 18” wheels look great, would not want any bigger. The compartment under the cargo mat really comes in handy for those odds and ends you don’t want to clutter the cabin with. I don’t understand why they have a compartment for the tire jack and accessories when these are not included with the car since it has run flat tires. Every other feature in this car is very well thought out. Another negative thing I can say about the NX is sunglass compartment, if the lens has any curvature to them, they will not fit, my Oakley’s and Ray Ban’s will have to find another place. To date, the NX 350h is without a doubt the finest automobile I have ever owned, zero issues. Considering I have driven my Volvo’s, Toyota’s, Acura’s and the Genesis 40,000+ miles a year for the last 35 years, that is saying a lot!

NX350h is very comfy and well appointed. Very quiet in EV and handy for in town use. Panoramic rear view camera is really great! AC is handling Las Vegas summer heat with no problems. After six months the mpg is 40.9 with primarily city driving. We've taken a couple road trips to N. Calif. and the cruise control is great, nearly self drives! It can slow for traffic ahead, even to a full stop. Very comfortable ride.

Nice Car

After taking delivery, my wife drove her car 80 miles in through western Washington in stop and go traffic without any issues. The technical features of the car were very well set up and explained before she drove away. I would recommend downloading and printing the Lexus Personalized Settings worksheet before completing the process. We reviewed and made selections at home before we met with the technology representative. We knew how she wanted the car set up before we took delivery. The NX lives up to the “nimble crossover” moniker. It is not a sports car. The nx350h is a very capable compact SUV, well equipped for this retired couple. Like our 2 previous cars, our Lexus was assembled in Canada. 8 month update: still very nice. We have learned that not having the key in our pocket makes washing the car easier. The car and key communicate when in range, locking and unlocking the car doors gets distracting. The seats have a lot of adjustment and we experience no lower body fatigue on longer drives. The standard stereo is very good. The storage under the rear deck is ample. The climate control is intuitive and it works to maintain the temperature requested. As noted in another review, the adaptive cruise control works very well. This is our first experience with this kind of feature. The lane assist feature can surprise the driver when road configurations change, i.e. new guard rails, zip lanes etc. My wife disabled this feature until we understand it better. It might be useful on longer trips over the open road. The warning buzzers are polite but just loud enough and we appreciate it. The owners manual is many pages long. It is also user friendly. The paper version has a guide in the front where you can simply locate the feature or switch that you wish to learn about. The manual directs you to the reference page and your questions are answered quickly. If you download the electronic version of the owners manual the reference page is highlighted allowing you to simply select the page and it takes you there. The owners manuals are easy for us to navigate and understand. We are still pleased with this purchase.

The seats are very comfortable and the ventilated and heated seats are a very nice touch. The screen is very responsive and the UI is on the more basic side but in a good way. It is intuitive and easy to understand. The Mark Levinson speakers are a wonderful addition and sound very crisp. The engine is on the louder side when speeding up, such as getting on to the highway. However, at normal speeds it is very quiet and the EV mode is perfect for neighborhood driving as it is very quiet. Space and great and the size of the car makes it very maneuverable and tight spaces while still providing space for storage. Also, I love how the taillight looks with the full led line, which makes the car stand out and also looks great at night. The led headlights are also very bright and the turning headlamps are very helpful. The 20 inch run flat tires are somewhat noisy but the ride remains stable and comfortable.

Nice, but disappointing gas mileage, some quirkies

Had our 2024 NX350h, Luxury, 20" wheels, for about a month. In mostly suburban driving I've been able to average only 32.2 mpg (indicated) on premium gas. I'm a very conservative driver and easy on the gas pedal, so very disappointed. Average temp has been mild for Wisconsin, maybe 38 deg. In rural driving at night I've noticed that there is a sharp definition in low beam road illumination between area that is lit up, and where there is no light above. It is DARK above a certain point. I'm used to there being at least a little illumination above a certain point, but this car produces zero light higher up. It's like there is a shutter halfway across the headlights that blocks all light above the illuminated area. You have to keep the lights on high beam in the country, especially in hilly areas. Also I've noticed that sometimes when you're trying to coast up to the traffic light the car will decide it needs to regeneratively brake and I have to give it a little gas (annoying). The swipe your foot under the tailgate to open or close it doesn't always work. It just beeps and nothing happens. Yes, this occurs with the car OFF. Finally, there is no car locater "beep" using a button on the key fob. I guess if you want to get out your smart phone there is an app to find your car, but it's not as convenient as just pressing a button on the fob. I tried using the emergency horn button but its range is VERY limited. It's a great ooking car inside and out, and comfortable, but compared to my old 2015 Lincoln MKZ hybrid, it's lacking a lot.

Great car with two non-critical strikes against it: confusing and ill-designed dashboard ergonomics (excessive use of highly reflective piano black on console and dash, highly reflective glass on map/apps screen and instruments screen, some tiny buttons on dash…) and gas consumption below stated goals. Oh… and that 800-plus pages manual (plus another one for electronics, both translated so-so from Japanese. Otherwise great ride and plenty of torque and power for its size.

I have had this new NX 450h+ for the past ten days and love every single minute driving it. The interior leather is so soft with the palomino, golden tan color that spells Luxury like the model of this car. I am still learning about the advanced technology of this Lexus vehicle. The plug-in hybrid model is what I was looking for. Can’t beat the 84 MPG gas and electric!

I migrated to NX450h+ 2025 from Toyota RAV4h Lim 2021 (annoying inter-stare road noise and low comfort passenger seat) traded in for Lexus 350h Premium 2022 (nicer finish, well thought controls, less road noise, a bit better acceleration). The latter I traded in for my actual 450h+. Also my wife drives a Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid Lim 2023. Pros: - best comfort cabin compared with other 3 - well thought battery (average 42 miles in sport mode for my daily traffic) life for regular sub-urban commuting. Better than Tucson PHEV by 40%. - Best all-around safety features. - Best sound system (Mark Levinson) - Comfortable for long trips. - Best infotainment system, albeit the infotainment display could be a tad higher. Cons: - Noisier than Tucson PHEV on interstate but quieter than RAV4h. - The USB port can’t accommodate portable hard drives, which is a draw-back since the audio system could play hi-res audio files (e.g. FLAC, AIFF), but the USB port/audio system can’t support 1+ GB HDD, required by hi-end music.

Overall, I've been very pleased with my Lexus NX hybrid. I purchased my car a few months ago and have put 2k miles on it. I have a base model and love it. It has every thing I need and I've been able to average 35 mpg. If you're looking for an AWD SUV with the quality of a Lexus, but don't want to dish out $70k for an RX, I would highly recommend the NX.

NOT EXACTLY WHAT YOU EXPECT FOR THAT PRICE RANGE

I purchased the Lexus nx 450h 2024, this plug in hybrid car drives smooth only when it’s on EV mode , once you run out of those 40miles per charge ; it starts making these annoying and uncomfortable noises coming from one of the batteries . If you got this car you would know what I’m talking about . You do save a lot of money on gas by charging your car and if you don’t work far away from home , you will be saving a lot of money on gas for sure . The car does have great features including a nice big screen and parking sensors but in my opinion the seats are not comfortable, if you get the self parking option don’t even bother because it’s not worth it . The car it’s going to take way longer to an expected to park , not to mention that if the car senses any movement around it will press the brakes so quick that you might scare anybody inside the vehicle . I feel like for that price range the sound system should’ve been better , the seats should’ve been more comfortable and at least the range of EV should be at least 80 miles per charge . Most of these cars have a gps issue that need to be taken care of like my car, and if you ever want to buy it make sure you test drive it when you see that there’s no EV charge at all so you can run the car on hybrid and notice those annoying noises the battery makes all the time . This is a smaller suv so if you want something with enough space for your family , this is also not the car for you . Hope this helps new people trying to buy this car . This is just an honest review !

Great gas mileage

I’ve put 1,000 miles on so far. Gas mileage is very good — my commute is 21 miles, non-highway and usually going about 45-55mph. I typically get around 42mpg and I drove very conservatively one morning and got 46mpg but I admit that I only did it because it was early in the morning on a Saturday when I’m all by myself. I wouldn’t normally drive the way I did to achieve the higher MPG. Infotainment is responsive and easy to use. The digital rear view mirror is nice and I do like having the Lexus Integrated Dashcam. It is not going to be the best video quality dash cam but it looks seamless with the car and no wires. I’ve had a dash cam for years so it’s something I wanted to continue having and the integrated cam is a nice replacement to what I was previously using. One thing I don’t particularly care for is that the radio doesn’t automatically mute whenever CarPlay is running. I’m trying to listen to Siri over the radio and the only solution seems to be to turn the Siri volume extremely high. One of the more common complaints is that there isn’t a spare. Lexus has gone to flat runs on all NX models and therefore there is no spare. Some say they drive rough. I personally haven’t noticed a difference but I also have 20” wheels which I think are supposed to help. Hybrid inventory is limited. Some of the upgrades on the Premium that I got that I enjoy would be the 14” infotainment upgrade & the illuminated door sills are nice. However, the 20” wheels I’ve already mentioned is something I normally would not have wanted but they only had 4 NX350h’s (some were already spoken for) and all 4 were gone by the end of the week I purchased.

We love our new Lexus NX 350 AWD SUV. Roomier with more luxury feel and ride compared to our 2016 Lexus 200 Sport Turbo. Only thing missing is the parking assistant we use to park in garage etc. For retired couple like us this is an important safety feature!!!! Otherwise, ranking would be a 5 star. Lexus quality is important for us as we keep our vehicles for many years. Would have preferred a Hybrid but not affordable.

I waited 10 months for my 2024 NX350h. It is my first Lexus and I am disappointed and wish I still have my Honda Pilot. For one, there is an intermittent rattle coming from the dashboard. Lexus doesn't know what to do because of course, the rattle disappears when I take it in. For what I paid for this SUV, there should not be one noise. The gas mileague is good, the interior cabin is stylish, but there are quirks or "work arounds" using the technology. I am disappointed to say the least and considering selling it.

I had many Lexus and it is a great car but it has to problem The seat stitches are closer to the middle but if it can be moved to the border line feels better The other problem is with the front viper is not going all the way to the end from driver side and that is a big issue for visibility Another issue is with the front seat belts that are loose and making noise by the plastic cover it would be better to use softer plastic Also the arm rest and dashboard are making noise on the bumpy roads I had to use stool leg floor protectors to fill the gaps and prevent the noise

Traded my 2013 RX 450h with 90,000 miles for a 2024 NX 350h. The 2013 was the best built vehicle I’ve ever, or hoped to ever, own. The NX…..first of all, I’m paying 7.9% interest to Lexus because “hybrids are in high demand”. Crazy on my part I guess to think the interest rate should be based on the term of financing and ability to re-pay. Incidentally, my wife and I both have credit scores in the 800s. By the way, I was not informed of the interest rate until I had already signed or initialed at least 20 times. When I took possession of the NX 70 days ago, the odometer showed 2 miles…..now 1,760. At the 14 day point, I begin to get notifications…….problems with the Supplemental Restraint System AND the Headlights System……CONTACT YOUR DEALER. WELL, I’m thinking that this is a Lexus and it will correct itself. At first the notifications were sporadic. Now, they are constant. For one thing, cruise control is non-functional….assumable related to the notifications. So, I have an appointment to drive to the Denver-area dealership….20 miles….and leave my new car. Hey Lexus, I’m shocked.

In shopping for a new vehicle I was looking to keep the price under $45K. After shopping around I wound up paying $55K and as of now I'm glag I did. The comfort and refinement of the ride is beyond anything I've ever experienced before. The technology is amazing and not all that difficult to use and makes car care a breeze. I've ony rated the vehicle a 4 but if this car is able to stay out of the shop for the first few years of ownership I will rate it 6 stars! I justified the price of this car by telling myself that this could be the last car I may ever have to buy. It's way too early too early to judge that. But what I've experienced with this vehicle so far it makes me hopeful!

Great visibility and handling

Any reservations about this car were eliminated as soon as I stared driving it. Seats are not only comfortable, but adjust high enough for a petite person to see well. Drove home on a windy day and the car really held the road well. Rain sensitive wipers came in handy when it started to rain on that first drive. Will just take time to get used to all the technology, too much to retain in initial orientation to the car. Passengers in the back say there’s enough legroom. Would recommend this car!

In general, this is a new computer not just a car. While the improvements are good, they take a lot of getting used to. Everything is on the large screen you just have to find it! Even the good old easy to open doors now require an unlock button and then a push/pull sequence. (I don't like it.. The gear shift also requires some learning as you need to push and slide. Overall, it a big upgrade from the 2019 NXt.

Great SUV for a small family

We bought the NX 350 Luxury gas version and we are very happy. We are a family of 3, my daughter is 11 so we found this vehicle good for our needs. I was initially looking at a RAV4 Limited, but could not find it so we went to Lexus dealer and when I saw the NX in person my family was happy with the space. Originally when I used to see it in video it looked way smaller then in person. So it's always good to see it in person and as well test drive. When we test drove this NX nothing else compare to it, the feel the drive, the technology and reliability (As there are other luxury brand that are nice but not as reliable as Toyota/Lexus). We want to keep our vehicle for a while and Toyota/Lexus reliability is important for us. The NX is similar to the RAV 4...a bit smaller in cargo space and in rear set, but not by much. So if you want a RAV 4 reliability with luxury then the NX is for you. Now it is important we understand that despite the reliability we also need to take care of our vehicles, especially with all these turbo engines. The manufactured recommends 10k per oil change, but that is insane. It is better to do it at 5k. Some people do it every 3 to 4k but for right now I will keep it at 5k mile per oil change. Now why gas and not hybrid? First it's very hard to get a hybrid right now, limited supply. Second I prefer the feel of driving this Turbo engine then the Hybrid as I did a test drive in a NX hybrid...and I prefer the feel of the Turbo. Now the one I might consider in the future is the plug in hybrid because that is the future of Toyota/Lexus and it's the bridge between ICE and full EV. But at this time we are staying with the Turbo since we will not benefit from a home plug for a plug in. Once we have that resolved I will upgrade this Turbo for the Plug in version which has better horsepower. But other then that can't go wrong with any option you choose, if you want something fun and agile get the turbo. If you care more for gas saving get the hybrid and if you want the best of both world and future proof get the plug in (if you got a place to plug in). And if you are more concern with cost then I recommend RAV 4 limited if you can find one. It is much cheaper, gas will cost you less since it does not take premium and insurance will be less. But if you can afford it Lexus product are nice to own, even if it's a "glorify Toyota".

Poor performance within 6 months

I got this vehicle 2024 NX350h 6 months before … within 6 months I had problems like 1. Hearing outside noise inside the car even just above speed on 45 2. Engine makes dragging noise even when I drive in 40m/h .. I reported to the dealer and also to Lexus corporate .. they all looked into it and said the vehicle is performaning as it has to be … if these issues happening within 6 months then it is not worth to buy by spending $60k and mileage is like any normal vehicle as 30-33miles per gallon even in hybrid and advertised as 40 and above .. totally it’s not worth for the money snd not be brand as luxury

Lexus NX350h Disappointing perfor & Poor response

I bought new 2024 Lexus NX350h 6 months back. Within 6 months, the car was performing very poorly. Engine is making a very bad dragging noise even in speed 40m/h. It is kind of pulling the car very badly and very poor pickup. Also anyone can hear the outside noise inside the car even under speed 45m/h. These 2 issues were reported to Lexus corporate, They responded that the car is behaving as expected. Marketed as Luxury car with high price ( above $60k) but performance and service is worse than cheap car. Mileage is market as 40plus but never crossed 31 either city or highway. Total disappointment.

I was looking to switch from a 4 dr sedan to a small SUV and got a great lease price on an NX250. I held my breath and signed the paperwork because all of the reviews I researched said , "it's a nice SUV but nothing special" WELL, I AM HERE TO TELL YOU THAT IS WRONG!!!!! I know great driving/handling cars, my wife will only drive a 3 Serie BMW, she has a 2024 330ix and it is a champ. My point is that the Lexus IS NOT a world apart, it is really smooth driving, has good steering manners and the brakes a excellent. My main area of concern was the 2.5 liter 4 engine at just 205hp. I am here to tell you it is NOT an issue mated to the 8 speed tranny, there is more than enough power unless you are a road warrior. You can get on a highway without difficulty and move around in traffic with ease. I really do not understand the issue if you do not have a turbo or hybrid!!! BEST OF ALL, IT RUN ON REGULAR AND GETS EXCELLENT MPG!!! The exterior looks are sharp/aggressive and the interior is well designed, comfortable and the finish is def premium. CHECK IT OUT, you will not be sorry.

I really love this car. The interior is amazing and the color way is perfect. The car drives so smooth you can barely hear it and the supporting alerts make it so I can drive safe. Overall such an amazing experience and car.

I like the fact that I am sitting high and looking down. I was disappointed in not getting a nice clean car. The drivers door at the bottom was all dusty, the car not totally clean. When the car is placed in reverse I am hearing sounds.

I passed on the sports car because I wanted something that could hand more than just looks. My Hybrid gives me a sporty vibe with room to do what I need to in the city. Atlanta traffic is insane but my gas tank doesnt feel it.

I got a Lexus Phev, it is everything one expects in a Lexus, which is excellence. Car is doing great. I think I have bought $30 in gas since I got it 9 mo ago. It did well in the small amount of snow we got this winter.
