"Adding" Apple carplay

This is a 2019, NX300, F sport, AWD, with 10 speakers premium sound. I bought it in August 2018 and at that time the salesman assure me that the car came with Apple carplay. When I took delivery the car it did not had carplay. The salesman assure me that software update will happen by September 2018. It did not. I contacted the salesman and he said to wait until October 2018 . When I called again the salesman had left Lexus. I contacted the service department few more time and they refuse to install the software. San Juan Lexus even said that the car did not have Apple carplay. Fast forward to September 2024 reading in the Internet I found a list of Toyota updates for apple carplay. Even with an official Toyota document...San Juan Lexus refused to do the update saying that they knew nothing about it. I contacted Lexus Headquarter who contacted San Juan Lexus. They charged me about $160.00 for the update. I contacted Lexus Headquarter and requested my $160.00 back in cash. Two months later, Toyota Puerto Rico reimbursed the money. All that work get carplay update. Do not let Lexus charge you for equipment included. Again, do not believe the hype about Lexus. As bent as most dealers.

Limited ground clearance and passenger car tires mean the Lexus NX is no better off road than a Toyota Camry, Lexus ES350 or any other similar cars. Performance on Forest Service roads around Prescott and Sedona was miserable. At 6' 1" entry and exit was difficult, the NX is a very compact SUV. 2 shoeboxes almost filled the rear cargo area, don't bother with a Costco membership if you have a NX unless you like frequent trips, one Costco size package can easily fill the cargo area.

I forgot to mention how loud it is in the interior. Once again Lexus said..and this is a quote ..nothing we can do. My interpretation..get over it we do not care. We have not gotten over it...it is even louder. After 2 years my low opinion of Lexus amazement continues. I would not repurchase any lexus. There are more 60k cars in the pond.
