Used 2020 Lexus LS 500 Consumer Reviews
Overall VERY positive, but electronics are abysmal
I knew the electronics were weak in this car before I bought it, but I use Apple CarPlay, and as it gets better, I figured the overall experience would get better. Too much trackpad interface - just too much. It's not AT ALL intuitive, and it poses a conflict of driving on the road and having to push the trackpad button SEVERAL times for simple functions. For example, getting air flow into the rear of the car. There is no hard button to push - you have to go through the menu, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find when you're NOT driving, let alone when you're traveling at 70 mph. There must be 5 pushes of the trackpad to facilitate this. Besides the electronics, the car is lovely. It is responsive, the Sport Mode is very cool and powerful, and the interior is just well-sculpted and pristine. The ride is library quiet, and the luxury is unparalleled. When reviewing, I take into account the OVERALL experience, which in my case is VERY positive. Nicest car that I have owned, and I just gave up the Porsche brand after 15 disappointing years. I had the 2017 Cayenne Hybrid, which I could not wait to get out of, and several other cars before this. I have driven Mercedes, BMW 745 Li, and other luxury brands, but the LS 500 is not only the nicest car, but also the best value. If the company could get their arms around better electronics, everyone would be driving the Lexus.

Best Ever
This new 2018 LS 500 is my sixth Lexus, and it is far and away better than any of my previous cars. I was reluctant to buy it because of the negative review by Consumer Reports, but they missed the mark in this newly redesigned gem that is patterned after their new LC 500. I rate it at the highest level.

Turbo Lag
We have a2019 LS 500 that has a hesitation when I push the accelerator. This is the 7th LS series we have had. We still have an LS 460 that goes when I push the accelerator.
Overall a great luxury car
The base car is well equipped and is engineered and manufactured extremely well. The interior looks great and is clearly thought out. A couple of minor issues. The safety features are very good. The front drivers seat appears to have a little to much of a bolster so it feels like I'm not all the way down in the seat. I am big, so for most I maybe OK. The cars tends to correct itself when centering itself in the lane on the freeways. Maybe that just takes getting used too. Overall a great car.
