Beautiful car! Better ride!

My wife and I love to travel and have gone through three ES models before this purchase. Just love the ride and luxury interior. Decided on the 300h this time and are very pleased. Still a smooth ride with plenty of pickup for the interstate on ramps. But now we add the 40+ mpg for both in town and long trips. It’s a beautiful ride.

ES300h Ultra Luxury

This model has all of the bells and whistles that I wanted. Plus some new features I didn't know it had. For example, a forward camera that also provides a visual image when pulling up to a curb so you don't hit the front grille area. After driving the car for six months I still love it but with two noticeable issues. 1) I received a Recall Notice that certain engine blocks were defective so the entire engine must be replaced to avoid a possible fire. A defective engine will be replaced free of charge. 2) The steering column and seat height requires constant adjustment to avoid having my knee hit the steering column when braking. Evidently the steering column is slightly lower than previous models. Being tall I didn’t have this issue with my 2005 Lexus ES 330.

First of all I’m such a lexus fan once I had my first Lexus never looked back! My current hybrid is so smooth and I can’t remember the last time I had to put gas in it! I’m loving the smooth drive, beautiful interior and exterior, luxurious car and the fact that I can enjoy it without putting gas for over a month is a dream😄

Full set of modern safety features. Roomy trunk. Great deal on lease. Very comfortable. Hybrid drive very smooth and efficient. Able to connect Android cell phone to screen; can use Google Maps. Poor choice of exterior colors, but they had one my wife liked. Dealer sent out person to do orientation for all the features; he stayed 2.5 hours till we knew all the features and "buttonology."

Thought I was going to replace a Toyota Avalon, but I am so glad I purchased the Lexis ES300 Hybrid. Smoothest ride ever, lots of innovative technology, great styling. I am going to really enjoy getting 44+ miles to the gallon!

Just bought our first Lexus for retirement travel and cannot believe the 44 mpg and the power in sports mode. I have a Toyota Tundra 2018 that cost $70+ to fill up to travel 500+ miles. The Lexus cost $35 to fill up and travel 450+. I have fun driving and saving money! This is the best hybrid in a luxury class!

I have owned multiple Hybrids and Multiple EVs. After 4 years on a model 3 Long Range l, i decided to move on for practical reasons but honestly, the overall brand That leadership had created no longer match my values. Two years inro my ownership there continues to be no comparison when you compare the Luxury and finish of the 300h to the M3. The ride is smooth and the torque on sport mode is not to shabby. I was getting 45-47 MPG when I first purchased the car but since writing the original review getting more 43 MPG but I think that's based on where I am.driving more than a degradation in MPG I like the tech in the 300H and while the M3 has more bells and whistles as far as some of the useless tech ( netflix), the constant updates and changes to the UI are actually confusing. Also, when I saw all those poor Tesla owners having their cars towed During the height of winter, it reinforces my theory that the battery tech in the infrastructure still is not there Even with the Tesla supercharge network, I always got nervous about what would happen if something mechanical happened to the car while on a long trip your options are really limited in terms of getting the vehicle fixed Because even when I had a minor issue in my home area, I was waiting 2 to 3 weeks just to get An appointment. I can only imagine what might happen if I was two or three hours away from my home. . Unlike the M3 Tesla M3 Lexus is real refined luxury and refined finish.By the way no unexpected service costs and I can safely say 2 years into my original review still 5 stars. I do believe once the infrastructure is built out I will go back to an EV, but I will never ever buy a Tesla again.

As a Lexus owner for the past 30 years, I was ready and willing to buy my 3rd, a 2020 ES350h sedan. While I liked the car's styling, ride quality and pricing two big flaws in its interior design kept me from buying it: (1) The interior navigation screen is just stuck onto the top of the dash, rather than integrated into it (as is the case with every other car in this class). Worse than its appearance was that the screen is not hooded or shaded in any way so that the outside light coming through the windshield directly behind the screen makes the screen difficult to see. (2) The touch pad controller, which is the only way to interface manually with the car's electronics was terrible -- worse than every reviewer says it is. Although the input sensitivity of the touch pad has 2 customizable settings other than standard, the interface experience remained very "twitchy" and difficult to use even at the least sensitive setting and even after I spent 1/2 hour in the parked car working with it. I would hate to have to use this while driving. I'm was unhappily surprised -- Lexus has been building luxury cars long enough to know better.

Luxury with poor assembly

Pros include the fuel economy, regardless the driving mode, the super comfy seats, and the smooth ride. The greatest con is the surprisingly poor assembly, interior panels crackling, rattling (seat belt fastener, roof carpet, electric cable under the seats hitting the air panel for rear seats, panels under the passenger side leg area, also something deep under the dash, front top speakers rattling, too, cockpit cover further sides not fixed, rattling… incredibly loud wind noise from the top glass. Very disappointing.

I agree with all the typical pros about this car. Comfortable, quiet, reliable, great gas mileage... I even disagree with the most common cons. The infotainment system function is not an issue for me. The acceleration is very good unless your looking to drag race. The one real negative is the SatNav. The 12" display is great but the technology of the information is pathetic. It is slow to pull up your destination. It often says it can't find your destination. It often gives bad directions. The ETA estimate is always way off to start the trip. I end having to use Google maps off my phone instead because it is so bad. The rest of the car is great.

Amazing Quiet Sedan With Exceptional Fuel Economy

My car is a 2020 Ultra Luxery. Been driving this car for month getting 46.4 MPG. This car is so quiet the ride so smooth that I go looking for places to drive to. Love the Mark Levinson sound system. Apple CarPlay on the 12 inch screen. The triple beam headlamps are amazing at night. A few things I would change to make it perfect. Redesign the front console by removing the touch pad, make it a touch screen (which they have done now) put better cupholders, and move the USB for CarPlay to the center console out of sight. Make it a plug in hybrid. The only thing that would make it even better is a 40-50 mile capacity battery with plug in hybrid. That’s it, this car is very close to perfect.

Lexus ES 300h review

Maine Max , 02/08/2022
2021 Lexus ES 300h Luxury 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
4 of 5 people found this review helpful

I picked up my Lexus almost a year ago. Beautiful ride and I have averaged over 46 mpg. I drive my car very carefully and do not accelerate quickly at all. I get by far my best mileage around town. I love in a small town in Maine. One thing that takes a little getting used to to maximize mileage is get up to speed with the gas engine and then maintain with the battery to use it as efficiently as possible. The ride is very smooth and comfortable and with the 4 cylinder engine, there is plenty of power, though I rarely use the power. One of the big reasons I purchased my ES 300h was the great resale value. An old friend from years ago told me you have to look at resale value when looking at cars. Also, dependability is critically important and the Lexus reputation is so good. The car same with the top of the line stereo which is incredible. I would normally never paid this month for a stereo system but the sound is perfect. Would I get another, absolutely but would also consider the ES 350 with the 6 cylinder engine. I love the mileage in my ES 300h and recommend it to anyone looking to own a car for a long time, wants to dependable ride, safe, and great resale value. Previous car was an Audi Q5 TDI which I absolutely loved as well. Very different cars.

I bought the car expecting to get 44/43 mpg. I have had it for 6+ months and the best mpg has been around 38. Took it to be inspected and was told that 37/38 is acceptable. I do not agree as I was told it would be better. Sad this is a LEXUS????

Car is very responsive, excellent ride over bumpy roads. Super gas mileage, @ 40 miles / gallon. But you will need an on-board grandchild, if you're of a certain generation, to get the electronics to function reasonably well.

2021 Lexus ES300h

I leased the car May 30, 2021 in Seattle. I heard a lot about Lexus having great comfortable vehicles that is why I got this car. Currently I completely disappointed. The registration plates came but the screws to attach are missing from the car. I have not been able to adjust the seat to comfort level at all, I keep on sliding forward and have to constantly adjust the seat position. The seat is very hard and uncomfortable. The road noise in the cab is extremely loud with all windows up - I thought I was buying Lexus which is supposed to be quite in the cab. I can feel the tire rolling on the pavement through my feet. The car does not lock on its own when I leave the car. Should not have bought this car. The 2019 Acura TLX I had for 3 years was a way better car then this Lexus 300h. I will not recommend the Lexus ES300h to anyone. Very disappointed with the Es300h and I am looking at ways to break my lease now.

2020 Lexus ES 300h. All the uber drivers have white late model es300h. Guy from Pakistan and he told me he drives 12 hours and his dad the other 12. Gets rid of it at 1 million km. Could tell the shocks were blown and the steering wheel leather was replaced and the seats were taped but other than that the motor will run forever.
