We shopped around for Mid size/compact SUV. After trying CRV, CX-5, Tiguan, Pilot, Highlander we settled down on Kia Sorento. The size is just right with lots of room for front and mid row passengers. The third row is good to have. The V6 engine is perfect for the weight of the vehicle to accelerate. The car handling is very nice with active safety features. The warranty is just great, gives peace of mind for 5 years bumper to bumper and 10yrs/100K on transmission. We have owned Toyota's and Lexus cars before and change to Kia brand was a big decision, we are glad we did make that right.

so i am a toyota and honda man true and true, but i was like, surely kia must be getting better than the throw away cars they have a reputation for back in the day. so i started researching online and went to my local kia dealer, spoke with mechanic for a good while, he told me, dont get the ones that have melting engines .. LOL he and the research seems to point to at least one very reliable version, its their 3.3L V6, I asked him point blank, which one will last over 200K, he said that engine is kia's best. so i was tempted by newer 4cl flavors, but this one is perfect for my wife. we got EX, she loves all conveniences, safety stuff, and performance is great. i change the oil myself, pain in butt to take off splash pan every time, but thats fine, its easily done, we have had it 60k miles so far and nothing is wrong, its perfect as it should be. it has timing chain so we should not have any big expenses if we just take care of it, and thats our experience so far. i dont know if i would have any other kia, to me , this engine is their best, its last year of V6 sorento production for the sorento, so we got a deal on it, especially compared to honda or toyota. if you can get one and its been maintained, i fell it almost like getting a honda or toyota. as of 2/16/2023 the sorento is still problem free, the only maintenance I have done is air filters and oil changes so far. I do change the oil every 5k miles even with full synthetic, just nervous because its a kia, not a toyota, so really want to go above the suggested maintenance for the engine. I guess scotty kilmer's got me nervous LOL. So now the 2018 v6 is 5 years old, and although I am skeptical of its longevity, from some people's reviews and scotty's videos, it has been an amazing car so far and with used car market WAY overpriced as of now, i could sell it for what we bought it for.

I had just turned in a 2015 Acura RDX for the new Sorrento. I was not expecting the same amount of car for the price of a new RDX. Boy was I surprised. This is more car for nearly the same amount we were paying before. The only thing I gave up was the sun roof which a do miss a bit. However, I am impressed with the way the Sorrento handles and the engine response. I keep finding things it can do that I was unaware of. I am puzzled as to why KIA did not put in day-time running lights. I have to turn on the parking lights to be seen by other drivers. (??????????)

Good car but brake rotors suck

I really like my Sorento and have only had one issue - the front brake rotors warped at 28,000 miles. Thought the 5 year 60k warranty would cover it and much to my surprise it was on me. Rotors are considered a wear item and only warrantied for 12,000 miles. Read the fine print. 3rd Kia and dissapointed on them. Probably be my last.

This is the fourth Sorento I have leased. Each model has been more improved over the previous one. For the price, the size, the comfort you can't beat it.
