2024 Kia Seltos Consumer Reviews
Pricing
Truly an awesome, affordable vehicle.
The Kia Seltos is a SUV gem. Tons of extras including all wheel drive, little to no road sounds while driving, heated seats, power seat for the driver, with a spacious interior and great gas mileage. I’m averaging around 34.5 miles while driving in town and on the high way. A bargain and the warranty is terrific. If your looking for a compact suv give this one a test drive.

Great styling, electronics and a joy to drive
Picked up this brand new 2024 Seltos SX with all the packages. The dash is full LCD display without the typical boring dual round speedometer and Tachometer. The display above the wheel has so much information and has a background that mimics the current weather you are in. If it is stormy, you see dark clouds with lightning. So cool! The electronics are mind blowing and haven’t figured them all out yet. It has a large 11 inch display for navigation with split screen for backup etc. It has lane assist and cruise control that keeps you a distance behind the car in front. Almost self driving but it expects your hands on the wheel and will politely signal to put your hands on the wheel. It has three modes of driving, normal, sport and smart. Very responsive off the line. It feels like you are driving a vehicle from the future. We bought this car after selling our Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD with hemi 5.7L engine. Was shocked that my first fillup was only $28.00.

Everything is perfect for me!
I love all the safety features, it even drives itself! My husband and I are both tall, he is 6'9" and fits comfortably. It has great acceleration and gas mileage so far is doing ok at 24 mpg, I have only made short local trips so far. Handling is responsive, controls are well placed and intuitive. The only thing I wish it has is a heated steering wheel. Seats are heated and cooled both.

MY PERFECT RIDE
I have a 2024 Kia Seltos EX Plus fwd. i really like this SUV, it rides good lots of room. On the highway I average about 33 miles to a gallon. It power is average for a 4 cyl. engine, it's not a race car and it's not a snail. I went from a Kia Soul! To a K5. I am really happy with my Seltos UPDATE: We purchased our 2024 Kia Seltos EX in late July 2023. We have had Kia's over the last 20 years. The Seltos EX with the 2000 engine seems to be perfect for us. We are in are early 70's. The 2024 Kia Seltos EX is the perfect SUV for us the 2000 engine is not a snail and produces an average of over 30 miles to a gallon it is comfortable, and the leather like interior and color are great. We went on vacation to Beaumont Texas about 4400 hundred miles. Our Seltos averaged 34.7 miles per gallon we drove the speed limit in Texas, which somtimes reached 80 MPH. The Seltos did not hesitate in power nor did it use any oil. The Seltos was perfect in performance and comfort. I am in AW of the performance of the Seltos. Just over 9000 miles now, and still one of the best trucks or cars I have ever driven

Love my 2024 X-line!
I bought my 2024 X-line back in October and love it. I had to claw back one star for the disappointing fuel economy when I drive over 105 km/h on the highway. It is impressive up until that point but drastically drops over the 105km/h. But if you drive the speed limit you’ll be fine. Lol I’m 6-2” and so comfortable to drive. Impressive tech and pretty easy to navigate. I was hooked by the pep in its step. Tons of get up and go. No road noise and interior fit and finish is next level. I am interested to find out how the Seltos performs for the long haul. I feel the reliability and things like service and parts will play a role for the long term satisfaction and I will update. But the first taste makes me feel like I will be a long time Kia customer. UPDATE: I wrote a review on my 2024 X-line and have to update on the one star I clawed back for poor fuel economy. Since then I feel my Seltos has “broken in” and on my recent 3000km road trip I got between 6.6 and 7.5 litres/100km. I apologize to my American friends but you’d have to do the conversion to mpg. Suffice to say it improved significantly. I am very satisfied with the recent mileage. It still performs best at 90 km/h and at that the consumption continually plummets. It even can achieve 7.5 litres/100 km with the cruise set at 115 km/h. Super! The next update is a slip in the area of tech. Two issues here. One is a dealer admitted “glitch”. I had the message on my recent road trip that states oil change is due. Reset oil life after service. This message comes across my display every time I start the vehicle despite having reset the oil life on the car and the app. Not a show stopper but a bit annoying. I hope Kia figures out a fix and can update the software or whatever needs to happen. Also the Apple CarPlay occasionally glitches. It is not my cord because it charges the phone but CarPlay won’t work. It’s happened a handful of times but there is a possibility it could be my older IPhone. I’m will to accept it. The Bluetooth still works. So not debilitating. So those are the only two issues. I still love the car and would highly recommend seriously considering a Seltos if you’re in the market for a smaller SUV. My wife has a Volvo XC-40 (2022) and we both agree the Seltos is a better value for the dollar. And I don’t have to burn premium fuel. That helps the bottom line$

Not sure why I haven't bought a Kia before?
The supposed "cons" of this car weren't that bad. Sure it's not a V8 engine and can't take corners like a Lambo but it's just fine to drive and picks up enough to hop on a freeway without issues. I like the double screen on it and the customization. It drives smooth and even as a 6'2" 220 lb man, I think there's plenty of room and is comfortable enough. For the price and the best warranty available, so far I'm very happy wit this purchase.

Nice car
It is well made, reasonably quick, and the all wheel drive w/ 8 speed tranny is very good. I like it a lot. And I like the great warranty, which I hope to never use. This vehicle has amazing bells and whistles.

2024 Seltos, you can't go wrong!
Although I've only had my EX for a few months, everything is great. Thoroughly pleased with car. Wind buffeting with an open sunroof is a little annoying but cracking the rear windows solves that.

Zoom, zoom, but not a mazda
My wife just bought a sx turbo, I wanted a lexus..after comparing prices here in Canada there there was no way to justify the vast prices difference, ya I know the brand snobs will not agree, but this kia has every imaginable option you can think of for $20k less than the Lexus. Lots of power, great handling, lots of rear seat room..

Snappy drive
Had this beauty from new with 45 original miles. We're up to about 2300 miles. Our impression so far is very good. It's a little snazzy in styling, looks a bit like a futuristic vehicle. It handles pretty well, taken a few longer trips and it's nice. Way too many controls and features to list. Good gas mileage, varies between 29 and 37 so far. Only drawback is factory Kumo tires that provide a bit stiff ride at times. I'll be switching to Nitrogen gas in the tires, I've had good fortune with Nitrogen. Interior is pretty comfy, I'm only 5'10" tall, so judge it accordingly. Like the sunroof.

Kia got right!
Just leased out from my 2021 passport into a kia seltos. It's perfect for what it is. Considering current interest rates it was very affordable. It's everything I need it to be. Small but capable, infotainment better than expected so really the car is everythingyou need it to be. It's not not much different than a mini skirt. Long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to keep thing's interesting..

Nice car, but ...
Just traded in our 2021 Kicks SV for a 2024 Seltos EX. The Seltos is a sharp looking car with tons of tech, it's literally like driving in a computer around town. It rides nice, is quieter than our Kicks was but... I miss my Kicks already. My wife wanted the Seltos, got it in Pluton Blue and the dealer included pinstripe, tinted glass and free oil changes for life. So why do I like the Kicks better? Adaptive cruise control, brake hold, and comfortable cloth seats compared to faux leather (vinyl) seats. I think Kia should spend less on the computer bells and whistles and put adaptive cruise control and brake hold in their middle trim package like Nissan did for the Kicks. IMO, those 2 features make all the difference in enjoying driving short or long distances. The lane control feature is too corrective as I think I'm going to cancel it and after trying the self driving mode I found it way too sluggish, I actually didn't feel safe. I do like the interior size, it's wider and roomier than the Kicks and does offer driver's side power seats which is nice, as well as heated front seats. It has good acceleration and a smooth quiet drive. Steering is stiff but I like the smoothness of the wheel cover. I can't say enough about the dash display, but you should just go test drive one to see for yourself. Again, I would have gone with a new Nissan Kicks but it was the wife's turn to choose our new car.

Traded my 2019 Sportage for 2024 Seltos S
So happy with my Seltos S. Was originally looking to trade for another Sportage, but just couldn't find what I wanted. Then the dealer suggested I test drive the Seltos. So glad I did, it had everything I was looking for and more. The Seltos is typical of the KIA brand with a quiet ride. Great gas milage, awesome info/entertainment system. Love the cloth & Syn text seat material. Black and blue color is very eye catching. Think I will enjoy this SUV for a long time.

Pearl. One fine car!
My wife has always named our cars, and we generally lease every 3 or 4 years. We're now in a Pearl White 2024 KIA Seltos, and it's a wonderful, solid vehicle with outstanding fuel economy. We have heated seats ( nice in the winter ) satellite radio which is a must have for us, plenty of head and leg room as well as storage. We've gotten over 43 MPG on long road trips! Seats are very supportive and comfortable. Really. We have nothing bad to say about this vehicle. And we highly recommend it for anyone wanting a very fine great running and comfortable car.Great job to KIA!

Not worth it
My brand new Kia Seltos SX trim gives a loud humming noise very often. And today I found that the digital display did not work when I started my car after 1 day. Probably because of the chilly Chicago weather not sure though.

I love Carole Sophia, she's my new Kia!!
My seltos has turbo and is so fun to drive. Carole Sophia is her name and she is Mars Orange. I love how Carole will tell me when I need to take a break if I get sleepy at the wheel a light with a cup of coffee comes up on the screen, very sweet car.

Great small SUV
I traded my 2022 Seltos for the 2024 EX Pluton Blue model. It has been flawless. Great gas mileage, nearly 40mpg on the highway. Kia did right on this one. I also have a 2022 Teluride (great family car).

New car
Love the car. A little delayed on the pick up.
Great value for todays market
Ample storage and good handling,
Love it.
Love it. Smaller of the Kia SUV’s but very roomy. Loaded!
Trash.
This car is designed for very young buyers. Senseless electronic shift control; cannot decide to move, shift through 5 gears under 20mph, or hold onto a gear 2000 rpm past reasonable. Leave a door partially latched? It will berate you with ww2 style submarine dive alarms. Move the car without latching your seatbelt, prepare for an audio beating. Want to set your cruise and decide when to slow down in relation to the car in front of you? Nope, not for you decide; no turning the slowdown feature, only shortening the range. Want a light show in your dash and door speakers with your night time radio? No? Too bad, you get pulsing rave LEDs anyhow. Taller than 5'-6"? Prepare yo hit your head on the roof stretching in the front seat. Need the parking break? Better hope the battery is charged, it's electric. Pray to God you actually get the car in park, I've had it roll several times. Any saving grace? Yes; 10 gallon tank and it's pretty efficient.

Avoid if you have vertigo/motion sickness issues
Unfortunately, I had to sell this almost immediately after purchasing it, because it was making me sick. I have a vertigo issue due to a brain injury, and for the first time ever, driving a vehicle triggered my vertigo. I haven't experienced this as the driver of a vehicle before, only as the passenger. I test drove the vehicle twice but the test drive routes were so short, that I unfortunately didn't catch the vertigo issue before I purchased the vehicle. I think what triggered the vertigo was a combination of an awful suspension that makes for a pretty bumpy ride, and the rearview/side mirrors had a slightly distorted reflection compared to other vehicle mirrors. So if you have a vertigo issue (or even a binocular vision issue, which I also have and which contributes to my vertigo issues), you might want to rethink getting this vehicle. As far as pros of the vehicle- it was beautiful inside. I got the 2024 EX trim. It was spacious for being so small. I really loved the wireless phone charging. The infotainment system was nice and somewhat easy to figure out. I like that not everything was on a screen, there were some actual physical buttons below the screen too. The gas mileage is supposedly really good but I didn't get the opportunity to test that out. Additional cons to this vehicle- the digital dashboard has terrible graphics, especially when you set it to look like a traditional speedometer and tachometer. I personally hate the digital dashboards as it is, so it really didn't help how awful the graphics were. The rear AC vents don't have a lot of power, even when the air speed/power is set at the max. One of the reasons I got this vehicle is for the rear AC vents, so if that is a reason you are looking at it, make sure to test out the rear AC vents at max air speed. The infotainment system feels way too far away, I had to almost fully extend my arm to touch the screen/buttons, but I am short, so not everyone will have that problem. The EX doesn't have a power liftgate and I feel like it should, but maybe that is something that comes with one of the higher trims. But for being a mid level trim, I think it should come with it. Another con is that if you drive at night, there are these weird lights that flash inside the door and under the steering wheel/glove compartment area. If you are listening to music, it flashes to the beat of the music which is very distracting and honestly seems dangerous. I could not figure out how to turn that feature off. It was unfortunate I had to lose money by selling this vehicle soon after purchasing it. It only had 280 miles on it. It's also too bad that the dealership didn't try to work with me on maybe returning it or giving me some sort of good trade-in deal for a different vehicle (Sands Kia, in Arizona). I took quite the financial loss with selling it because the value of the vehicle drops dramatically as soon as you purchase it, unfortunately. But I ended up purchasing a 2024 Chevy Equinox after selling the Seltos, and this vehicle is much more sturdy and has a smoother ride. So if you also have a vertigo issue, you might want to look into an Equinox instead.
