Piece of Garbage
I bought my Sedona used two years ago and have had nothing but problems. After three months the check engine light came on and when I took it to the shop, the mechanic said the hose used to transfer the anti-freeze to the radiator was missing. He installed the hose but apparantly didn't check the rest of the van. Less than two years later my engine blew and its not covered. The warranty and the KIA name are a joke. I take excellent care of all of my vehicles and this one is plain old Korean garbage. I will never buy a KIA again.
Crash Test
My wife and I bought a 2005 Sedona that has 16,500 miles on May 21. Three days later while driving home from work I had an accident. A lady in a Lexus pulled in front of me and I slammed into her going approximately 50mph. After recovering from the initial shock of it all, I got out and found, to my surprise, very little damage to our van. The lexus was totaled. The van sustained damage to the front end and radiator, but had no intrusion into the engine. I was also very pleased with my lack of any serious injury, an air bag burn to my hand was all that happened. And now I have become a believer in the Sedona and its high crash rating.

A great 1st Minivan
This is a great first minivan. With our 2nd child arriving we had to get a bigger vehicle. We priced out other minivans & they all came up way out of our budget except this one. This van is affordable & within reach of the average family. With the standard features & price, made it a great buy! It's comfortable & our family loves it. I'm sure you can find more refined & luxurious minivans out there, but for more money! It drives great, it's fairly powerful, & comfortable on long trips. Plus the long warranty & 5 star rating from the NHTSA makes it an exceptional value. Don't rely too much on Consumer Reports or auto enthusiasts reviews, take the opinion from someone who owns one.
AWESOME!!
I would recommend a Kia Sedona to any family that needs the room. All the power and style of a car put into a van. 10 thumbs up!
Not so good after all....
My wife and I bought our Kia new in '05 with the hope that we were getting a decent vehicle...WRONG! Overall it's okay. However, the rear brakes make a groaning noise that the dealer can't seem to fix. The horn works intermittently. Every so often the A/C stops working. There is not as much cargo room as I had initially hoped. Unless you are a child, getting into the back seat requires you to be a contortionist. The paint must be the lowest quality possible, it gets scratched just by looking at it. The fuel mileage isn't horrid, but you can get comparable mileage from a Suburban. Which is what we are looking into trading in for. Do yourself a favor, avoid Kia.
