2013 Kia Optima EX 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 6A)

While it is a very good looking car, with a reasonable ride and handling.
The gas mileage is a major disappointment.
I would not have even considered the car if I knew its true gas mileage.
My previous car had EPA numbers of 19/24/30 and I normally got about 28 mpg.
The optima has EPA numbers of 24/28/34 and I get about 25-26 mpg.
So with a car with 4mpg better EPA numbers I am getting 2mpg worse gas mileage???
I have had the car into 2 different dealers, both of which say the car is running to spec. The other major disappointment is the UVO sound system.
It is fine as long as you use only the radio or CD, but the USB connection is very buggy.
When connecting the USB to either a thum

Best Features

Backup camera. folding side mirrors. seat memory

Worst Features

Fix Mileage. Seat warmers setting should be remembered, instead of having to be set every time car is started, on the other hand, the steering wheel heater could use to be on a timer, and does not need a memory. Wiper controls and car lock controls are opposite of what I am used to (and what seems natural)

My mileage is worse so perhaps you will feel consoled :( I bought my EX 8/13 based on the ergonomic features AND the EPA mileage estimates. I have NEVER achieved more than 32 between Portland, OR and Seattle WA which is 2.5 hours of highway driving 60 to 70 mph mostly flat with some mild hills. When I turn on the AC, I lose 2 miles and/or its summer and we have ethanol. Both its 3 to 4! Right now I am getting combined mileage of 25 per tank using AC but no ethanol for driving around my local town and making 2 to 3 trips a week to Beaverton, OR which is 60 miles roundtrip of hwy. driving at 60. My 2008 Honda CRX all-wheel drive SUV obtained 24 in the city and 26 on the highway (did not change with air or ethanol). My 2010 Prius obtained 45 combined mostly in town with air and ethanol. My local PDX dealer checked it out and said they could find nothing wrong; try different gas including Chevron. I did and it made no material improvement; Costco gas makes it worst ironically. Does best with Safeway grocery gas. Needless to say I am disgusted. Next stop is the Seattle EPA office to see how to file a complaint. Given that Kia and Hy

Forgot to finish last sentence: Given that Kia and Hyundai were supposed to be in settlement discussions regarding other models...one would think the dealer would be more empathetic.
