I chose this over the Lexus LS. The cars are similar in size, comfort, driving dynamics and cabin noise. The difference is that the K900 is half the price. This car is a pleasure to drive and ride in. Acceleration and shifting are smooth and effortless. Gas mileage is poor in city. Navigation interface is poor, like Mercedes. Parking cameras, LED headlights, heated/cooled seats, and sound system are all excellent. Have had the car for over a year. I would buy again. Updating review after owning vehicle for about 3 years. I still enjoy the smooth ride very much. I have purchased new tires and done regular maintenance on the vehicle and it is running strong and quiet. The last 6 cars I owned, I owned for less than 3 years each so the fact that I am keeping this vehicle means something to me.

Buy a low mileage one owner and save half the original price. I bought my top of the line with 19K miles in November 2016. black with white leather; love the heads up display and 17 speakers and all the other features; I paid 29K which would not even buy a low mileage Lexus ES with half the options. Inspect it before buying; and try to find a K900 dealer near you; you will love the car. I re-badged it with the Korean badges and get asked daily if it's a Lexus LS; everyone is stunned at the quality and features in a KIA. I love saving the money and could care less about brand status; it is a steal deal for its car class!! after 13 months of driving, I would say the seats need more contoured padding; a little too flat. Jan. 2019 Update after over 2 years ownership: excellent car and no regrets after buying. best car features; ride, and quality for the dollars. recommended as a used car for anyone. July 2019 Still excellent car; dependable and best value. rare car; few made and great pricing. recommend highly. Jan. 2020 still love and recommend this car for quality and value and comfort. Jan. 2021 4 12 years; I'm particular and expect quality. this car still exceeds my desires 100%

So I keep reading these reviews that say that the K900 feels cheaper than and has an 'Interior quality and driving experience don't equal those of more elite luxury sedans".... You know why? Because its almost half the price... For the price of 1 S550 I can buy two of these so I will live with a button or two that are not up to par with MB.... Speaking of MB, if I compared the K900 to what it really should be weighed against because of price I would be comparing it to the E350. So for 60k in an E350 I would have heated vinyl seats and nav and thats about it... You know what else I love? its the first new car ever that has had ZERO issues... no "reprogramming issues" (BMW) or "our techs know about it and are working on a fix (MB). Car has been problem free since day one and a joy to drive... I'm 6'2 and 250 and fit comfortably and the kids feel like they are being chauffeured around in the back seat. Not all of us want to take corners at 70mph and I really enjoy the fact that there aren't allot of these on the road. I get thumbs up all the time and get questioned about the car every time I am getting gas (which is allot!) Lease rates through Kia are amazing, about $500 a month. My complaints about the car? Gas mileage... but its a heavy V8 so I get it. I wish the rear side sunscreens were power. Only other issue I have is Kia dealers need to step up their service departments for a better experience. But for the $500 a month I'm saving I will deal with it!

Trouble free after 43,500 miles

Car has been trouble free, other than having the tires changed to continental's, every thing works fine. Would have given a better rating except for a couple of things. No apple car play, no rear entertainment. No hud. The problem was I purchased a 2015 CPO car so got great price. Live in Arizona so wanted a light or white interior, couldn't get it with the VIP package in white interior at that time. Fuel economy could be better , but I'm getting combined better than the highway mileage listed for car. Would have been better with the VIP package After 54,000 miles, traded for a 2018 Genesis G90. I've owned 6 KIA's, sorry to leave. Kia doesn't have the new K900 out that includes everything I want hope they follow Hyundai's lead with new luxury brand. (just don't think they will) Car was great, no problems at all excellent car Wish I had a K900 with VIP. Would still be driving it if it had VIP and I would be much happier than with the G90 Every trip we take with the Genesis, something goes bad. 5 trips 5 major problems. Even the service was better at my KIA dealership Than at Hyundai dealerships. Maybe will change if Genesis has it's own dealerships

I bought my 2015 K900 used at a fantastic price. I am using it a lot more often than my Mercedes and the value you get with this car is absolutely amazing. I have had different Mercedes and BMW cars and I could say that buying this car for the price of a used 2014 BMW 535 or a Mercedes C class 2015 is totally a no brainer!!! No comparison whatsoever unless you are driving the emblem and not the car in which case changing the emblems to the ones used outside the US is only a couple of hundred dollars and then you have to answer questions from people who stare at the car and ask you what car you are driving

Great luxury without the high maintenance cost and typical breakdowns with most luxury high-end cars. It is a reliable, sharp looking and luxury ride without worry of high cost and high maintenance bill that you would have to pay $4000 plus for an extended warranty for some German made luxury cars and a less expensive Japanese luxury car. An engineer at KIA from R and D said KIA buys their engines currently from Toyota. Essentially, you are buying a Lexus for half the cost.

Got a 2015 K900 Luxury V8 with VIP package with 43k miles for $22,600 out the door. Incredibly smooth ride and acceleration. Good braking, heads up display, impressive sound system and limo-like back seat the kids all love. Panoramic moonroof is a cool feature too. My son calls it the "Rocket" Taking it soon on my first extended road trip. Gas mileage is probably why the new models went with the 3.3L V6 Turbo. Gets 25+ mpg at 75 mph on the highway. 15-17 MPG in city driving. Great car for tall kids and families! Update: After 16 months of ownership, still love it and reliability has been bulletproof. Heads up display has made me long for it in all my cars. Comfort, power and safety!!

We have two identical K900s that we bought in October 2016 we have taken both of the cars in since day 2 with small to large problems. Kia Motors was aware of some of the issues prior to us buying our two cars. As an example, the cruise control set speed indicator and speedometer do not match, ex. If the cruise is set at 70 mph it says you are going 75 mph on speedometer they still have no idea how to fix it from Kia Motors and its been over 4 months since I reported it. Backup camera wouldn't show picture had camera replaced. Auto Hold Brake feature on both have issues, on one it lets off the brake when it shouldn't which could make you get into an accident. Our other K900 is also having an issue with Auto Hold but it now doesn't work at all and has lights on indicating it knows there is an issue. For both, parts have been ordered to replace a different module on each respectively one a Trac module and other an ABS module, but it sounds like the Field Technician is guessing at least with the ABS module been waiting for ABS module since November 26. 2016. Trac module was ordered in late December. Fuel door doesn't open now without using manual release in trunk along with pushing the door open. Vibration, tire and alignment issues continue to be present even after multiple times of tires being replaced. Finally, overall customer service satisfaction from Kia Motors in handling my cases is Extremely Poor, I asked Kia on December 19 for a callback and even after multiple attempts to speak with upper management and for callbacks, the first time someone called me back was on January 12. I only received a callback because I had to file a BBB Autoline complaint since they never responded to my lemon law notice even after 30 days and even though I already had an open case. Also, be aware although Kia promises on their site that K900 customers should get a Cadenza or K900 loaner car don't bet on it. My dealer only has 2 loaner cars in its tiny fleet, an Optima or Sorrento don't expect to be blown away for the start of a luxury car experience. I think it is funny that the dealer employees have to be K900 certified but they don't follow Kia's rules even though they know the rules. And if you're wondering my dealer is the largest in the world so why can't they follow the rules and meet customer expectations.

Quieter than an s class , fast as a 7 series, reliable like a 460 and 2/3 the price. A real value. The soft, quiet ride is great for the 75+% that I drive the car. Handling is not German buts it’s way more comfortable . I’ve now had it 18 months and 21000 miles. My comments are unchanged but warranty service from the dealer is like you expect from s Kia Soul rather than a luxury car!

Bought a used 2015 VIP package model with 18k miles. For the most part over the 3 years of ownership I enjoyed the comfort, smoothness of the V8 engine and all the luxuries included. I did encounter reoccurring suspension issues and tire wear replacing struts 4 times including tie-rods and not to mention so many alignments. If considering buying one be sure when you test drive it on the freeway for a while with a few passengers onboard to gauge the overall health of the suspension. The suspension design is inherently weak with the back-end wobble and front-end excessive yaw indicating strut replacements are needed. It’s a shame as I liked the power and comfort this model had to offer. Eventually sold it at 48k miles due to continued suspension cost, lack of Kia dealership enthusiasm and no suitable aftermarket suspension upgrades available.

Buyer Beware

If you are thinking about purchasing a K900, my advice is DON'T! I have had my K900 for less than 1 year (and less than 9,500 miles). During this time the vehicle has had to be towed TWICE back to the dealership because it either would not start or was unable to be driven. In addition the car is on it's 3rd battery. Lastly, when the car was less than two months old the Entertainment system had to be replaced. The most recent service took the dealership 5 days to fix (and a factory engineer had to be called in because the dealership could not identify the problem). I have had more service issues on this car in less than 12 months than all of the cars I have owned in my life combined (and I am 58 years old, so a lot of them). Fortunately because the car was under warranty I have no out of pocket expense, just a lot of frustration and inconvenience. The car looks great, is comfortable, a lot of leg and head room (important because I am 6'3"), great pick up / power but extremely poor in its reliability. One other thing to consider is if you are purchasing the vehicle from an out of town dealer because their pricing is better than a local dealer beware that not all Kia dealerships offer the K900 and only those that do can service it. Unfortunately the nearest Kia dealership to me that can service the vehicle provides TERRIBLE service (and I have purchased vehicles from a "sister dealership",same owner, different brand) and their service department was great. You have probably heard the saying that the two happiest days for a boat owner is the day he buys the boat and the day he sells it. I feel the same about my K900 and can't wait until I am not upside down and can get rid of this albatross.

I've had nothing but problems from day one with the Kia K900. Shortly sfter driving the car off the lot, I felt a vibration coming from the front of the car, immediately brought it back to Kia... They claimed that the tires were "out of round" because the car sat on the lot for so long. So they balanced the tires and told me to put miles on the tires and it would go away. I brought it back again... They replaced the tires, it still didn't fix the vibration. They replaced the wheels, then told me that the car was fine... I took it off the lot, and to my dismay, the fix didn't work... Then hey replaced the drive shaft... It still didn't work, the vibration was still there. Kia corporate got involved... They sent out a specialist, with a newly designed drive shaft.. Promised me that installing this newly designed drive shaft would work because they have had numerous customers that have had the same problem with their K900 models, and it fixed the problem 80% of the time.... I had to wait for over 25 days for the drive shaft to be installed.... And it still vibrated... The magical drive shaft still didn't work. Kia finally admitted that this was a problem inherent to the car's design and engineering and that it will never cease to vibrate as it does. Furthermore, they informed me that The vibration is within the normal operating specs of the vehicle, and there was nothing more they could do to address it. All of the above transpired within two months of driving it off the lot. I just want to give them their car back, get my money back, so I can move on from this nightmare...they've refused to take it back. They've refused to give me my money back. It's been two months since they acknowledged that they can't fix the vibration... I now have to sue Kia to get them to take their defective designed car back and return my money. Don't waste your money or your time like I did. There's a reason why they're leasing a 60+k luxury car for 399/month..... Seems like a great bargain...right? Don't buy a Kia. I did, and never will again.

Onboard Entertainment System is woefully poor

Let me start by saying I love the car. The ride and comfort are exquisite and the car has a rich look and feel. However, the entertainment system is a mess. Pandora only works with iPhone unless you use the blue tooth option which will play the music but you have to control the app from your Android phone. I thought using the Uvo App would fix the problem but the app does not download to my phone. Very frustrating. The system is complicated and not very intuitive.

Here is the best way to put it: It is a lot of car for under $500/mo. It has great value when comparing to A8, S550, or BMW 7 series. I would say K900 is behind germans brands by about 30-35% in most categories. But it leaves Germans in the dust when it comes to value. When compared to above mentioned german brands where my payment would be 1k or more per month--I am paying $465/mo on a lease for luxury package This is my first Kia and I am impressed.

I bought this car in 2017 (35,000 mi), now in 2020 (65,000 mi) I live in San Diego. The ONLY problem I have had was the pax headrest rattled on bumpy roads. Took it to the dealer, fixed, no problem. I have owned MB C230, BMW 540i (V8), and 740i (V8). I will NEVER own a german car again (lease only if must), they are HUGE $$$ drags (nothing drives as well as a BMW I will admit). The K900 is fantastic, I enjoy NOT having to take it to the mechanic. My major complaint is the handling, too floaty and the car will let you throw it into a corner (BMWs will). Also a minor bummer is the auto cruise was programmed inverted: when a car leaves the lane in front of me the car brakes, when a car moves into my lane the car does not anticipate and brake to let them in UNTIL they are right in front of me, I think the software is backwards. To compensate I turn it off and on. That said it have never hit a car in LA traffic, and we go from 85 to zero a bunch and fast. Overall super car!! Update July 2021, 72,000 miles: had to replace shocks and struts, no aftermarket parts so it was $2000 for parts and $1500 labor, more at dealer. Still screwy auto cruise. Engine has always has a noise when cold I thought was squeaky belt, turns out to be a known internal issue. As the second owner of car they will NOT cover repair. Typical! Hope it doesn’t blow up on me for a while. Other than that it’s still a good car. Brakes hold since I bought it at 35000 miles, they are long lasting, so I’ll stick with stock.

I bought this car against all advice from the so called reviewers and pundits. got a top of the line model for 60K. The car is soft and that makes it great for highway cruising and long distance driving which is what my main driving is. 40K and so far no trouble that has not been covered. One head light self levelling blew which is expensive if it happens after warranty. Also I has one airbag sensor fault. My audi A8 and BMW 7 series had many more problems when i reached year five that i had to sell them or go broke fixing the damn cars.

Great car. Well built and reliable. Nice looking.

This is a great car for those who want a full size sedan with a very comfortable ride and powerful engine, yet don't want German expense and unreliability. Given the soft suspension, it naturally has a lot of body roll in the corners. It does have a lot of grip though, because the tires are 245 in the front and 275 in the back I think. This also gives it a great stance. It's a beautiful design too with the glass roof and beautiful rear end. The front has grown on me also. Extremely reliable. I have owned now from 30k-80k miles and have only had to change regular fluids. It has never let me down other than a flat tire one time. It has a nice spare though. Drives like new. The parts are all much sturdier than your average Kia. More like an early 2000s Benz. It does have some detail and thought put into it, as it is a flagship Vehicle for Kia/Hyundai. The carpets are very plush. There's a lot of leather in the car. The dash is all leather/vinyl and is very nice. It has a great leather smell when I don't air it out for days. The back seats are huge. It's been great for road trips with a big trunk also. You can have 4 adults very comfortable in there. The auto trunk, backup camera, sensors, sunshades, and other features are nice to have. The entertainment system is not bad. It has been a very inexpensive vehicle to run. They have not lost much value from when I bought mine.

The 2015 model is luxury at its best. The features, feel, everything about it. I believe the stigma of it being luxury and a Kia doesn't do it justice. Everywhere I go, people stop, stare, come ask me what it is, rave about it, etc. It's a jewel that didn't get its optimal chance. I completely LOVE it!!!

I always liked the Hyundai Equus but it was above my price when new. Found out that Kia was purchased by Hyundai and the K900 was a re-badged Genesis with the Equus V8 GTI engine. I was showing my son some K900's online one day and found a beauty for sale in the Cleveland area. It was such a good deal, I bought it sight unseen. I flew in from CT to pick it up. I have never regretted that decision. The car is amazing. Solid as a rock and extremely powerful and comfortable. The AC compressor blew out while the car was still under a 5 year warranty so the dealership replaced it for free. It had a trunk leak, and that truly is a design problem, but it's been fixed as well. Only other issue is the door handle stops on these cars were poorly designed and they keep breaking. Right now, February 2022, I cannot find that part anywhere in the world. They are literally sold out everywhere on planet earth because they break so often. That is a problem of owning a limited edition luxury car; many things can break and parts can be hard to find. Other than that, I love the car. I will drive it into the ground. The only thing missing is lane assist. It was an option at the time and the lessee didn't order it. Lots of ways to listen to music. It has a hard drive for the "jukebox", which you are supposed to be able to load with a thumb drive, but it has never worked. Heated and cooled leather seats, even in the back seat. Update from August 2022, everything still is good with the car. Looking for a software update but Hyundai only offers road map updates. It would be nice if I could download apps and run them on the vehicle (like Google Android Mobile) but software is not available.

It’s like driving your sofa down the highway. 2ed review Still love the car. Although after an electrical issue with the radio(only issue I’ve had) I have concluded that Kia is not ready for prime time. First dealership said that they couldn’t find the issue and returned the car. The next dealer called in a Kia engineer. It took 8 months to find the issue(still not repaired). It’s going on 10 months now. Still waiting for a part to arrive( to let you know this issue started long before the supply disruptions). It would appear to me that Kia does not have competent engineers. I’ve changed my rating from 5 to 2 stars. Not because of the car but the incompetence of Kia dealerships and Kia itself. I’ll never purchase another Kia. If you do, choose your dealership carefully.

Briefly, I owned a 2015 K900 VIP, great vehicle in every way and after life events 7 years later, I needed to find another vehicle...saw a rare K900 in a dealership lot. Bought it. All the options: adaptive cruise, ac/heated seats x 4...soft close doors....german quality in build and interior/tech/touch. Well done Kia. The newest version is another masterpiece.

1970's Luxury

Goodness, this is a Buick, Chrysler, Lincoln of the '70's. Don't expect much more. It's a grand highway machine, lousy on gas around town, but thrifty (25+ MPG) on what it does best -- highway cruising. On recent trip down I85 for a few hundred miles we enjoyed a superb sound system, more than adequate gas mileage, and miles of blissful comfort. Buy a '70's Time Machine, you won't be disappointed.

This vehicle is a joy to drive, every bell, every whistle and beautiful lines and design. All the options of a 7 series BMW or S550 but not the maintenance worries. Bullet proof car. Very proud to show off the KIA label on this beauty.

I have owned mine for over 5 years. Everyone who gets into my car asks what car this is as I have the optional badges which don't say Kia. Everyone is very very impressed with the ride, tech, and overall comfort. Wish it had apple car play and massaging seats but other than those, I absolutly love my ride. Purchased as a used vehicle, you can't beat the bang for buck.
