Happy but glad we purchased an extended warranty
We love our 2018 Sahara and traded in a 2016 two door so we could more easily accomodate the grandkids. It actually gets better fuel economy than our two door. Im guessing the 8 speed transmission makes it more efficient. The entertainment system has been replaced three times. My impression is that Jeep used refurbished parts for some warranty work. Covid created a terrible supply issue. Additionally we encountered an issue with the gas tank continuously shutting off the fill up nozzle. The Jeep dealer replaced the tank and that fixed the problem. We purchased our two Wranglers, a Compass and a Grand Cherokee from the same dealer- Bournival in Portsmouth NH. All they sell are Jeeps. That probably gives them an edge when it comes to service and diagnosing problems.
I can’t see
Spending that kind of money on a vehicle that has no Volt Meter (for charging) or Oil Pressure Gauge. It’s beyond me to think that a supposedly rugged vehicle designed for off road use would not have either of those tools. Nice to rent but I would never own one.

Nice summer ride but not perfect
I love my jeep but if you go to look at one look at the location the light on and off switch is , it is in a location that you will hit it with you knee getting in , just replaced one 110$ before the first oil change , I am 5 foot ten ,I have no idea what a taller person would do , why in the world jeep relocated the switch on the JL to that location I will never know ,I guess to sell replacement parts , the part was 61$ ,at least it broke with the lights on so I could drive it ,other than that it is a great jeep ! after 2 years, Still love the Jeep , one of the simplest things you can get , the heat control and all the on off switches are easy to use , it has a back up camera and will work well with the phone ,nothing was hard to figure out , it is fast and is good on gas , my only regret is I did not get one earlier! Still love my Jeep !!!!

Lovely Idea - Poor Execution
Bought the Jeep only slightly used with 7,900 miles on it. It was listed on the carfax as a corporate fleet vehicle so I didn't think anything of it. Since travel is limited due to COVID I have only put about 5,000 miles on it in 6 months. 3 months in I experienced my first 'death wobble', and soon after it kept happening more frequently. Driving at highway speeds of 65-70 mph and going over any uneven road, obstacles, or bridge bumps would cause the back axle to wobble side to side. In addition the steering wheel would become more loose than usual and because it is shaking other essential components can loosen causing more long term issues as well as lessening the effectiveness of your brakes. Highway speed wobbles are more violent and you have to pull over for it to stop because stabilizers are ineffective over a certain velocity. Obviously I took it to the dealership because there is a drivetrain warranty. However since they could not recreate the issue they did nothing about it. It is also not a simple diagnosis seeing as it could me any multitude of causes from alignment, drivetrain, suspension misalignment, etc. I had a personal attachment to the vehicle because I saved and wanted to buy it for a long time, so it was an milestone achievement. However it's simple math for me because I am not willing to gamble safety for aesthetics or offroad capability. I'm trading it in for a RAV4 XLE Hybrid lower price, similar size, more creature comforts, better mpg, and to top it off it actually comes standard with power locks and windows...

Bob Spurlock and Perkins Motors
There should be no surprises with the new Wrangler JL, but lo and behold. The new JL has greatly improved in highway drive-ability. It’s quieter with a wider wheel base and better handling the the JK. We bought a certified preowned 2018 Wrangler Sport S JL Unlimited with 2,400 miles. It came with quite a few features that were not standard on the Sport S and the deal was too good to pass up — especially the certified preowned power train coverage. They have a new sales manager at Perkins and are really pricing Jeeps to move them off the lot. I really took time with this purchase. I did test drives on 3 different occasions over the last 3 months. Joe Spurlock was exceptionally patient. He treated the family as valued long-term customers from the start. No pressure with this guy. He’s relaxed, fun to talk with and gives the customer time if they’re still undecided. I give him 5/5 stars. If you’re in the Colorado Springs or Front Range area and shopping for a great deal on a Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep stop in and see Joe Spurlock at Perkins Motors. — Scott Trapman, new life-long Jeep Customer

Great all year round vehicle
The new Jeep Wrangler JL is a great all year round vehicle and great for traveling in.
My Georgia Peach!
It only a took a quick search on a Sunday evening to find the 2018 Jeep Wrangler that I wanted; low mileage, manual shift & great Carfax report... not mention a great buy recommendation from Edmunds.

Fun not worth the money
I have a great time driving it but the paint is terrible and they won't cover the problem they made and your left with a $5,200 bill to get the paint corrosion fixed on all four doors all eight door hinges both sides of the hood a fender and the windshield surround. Don't waste your money on a car that will look like a 10 year old car in 10 months

2018 Jeep Wrangler JL
The JL wrangler is definitely a well built jeep. But you need to pay close attention to the auxiliary battery. I get about 22.5 MPG

Never been a Jeep guy but...
I've read a lot about the steering on the new JL, and while I did notice it I figured it was something one had to get used to. Mine is a 2018 Sahara hard top bought in 2018 and is te same model year, so I got one of the first ones. I drove the JK and then the JL, it was noticeably better in every way. I just took it in for a service and was informed there had been a recall for the steering stabilizer everyone has been complaining about. They installed a new bigger unit and I was shocked at the difference in steering! Anyone still dealing with this issue should go get the upgrade ASAP. I liked the Wrangler so much I went out and found a 2014 Grand Cherokee 4 x 4 limited that I'm modifying for overland adventures. I only gave 4 stars because nothing is perfect.

The new JL Jeep!
This is not the CJ 5 I had 35 years ago, it is amazing how refined and improved it has become.

Looks cool… in the service bay….
I’ve always wanted a wrangler. Finally, no more minivan and the time had come. The top comes off, it’s 4WD… what’s not to love? The squeaks and rattles I expected (fiberglass top and FCA… duh). The steering issues that would not allow me to turn the wheel at highway speeds? The differential that needed to be replaced? At 2yrs old and 20k miles? I started to think I owned a Ram since the loaner truck was in our driveway more than my red Jeep. Jeep’s response (corporate - not the dealer, they just sell and Service this crap) was to blow us off and basically write it off as Oh well (it’s a Jeep thing?). I would hate to take my mall crawler off road for real. I would need a 2nd one for back up. Or my husband’s 96 Landcruiser with 300k miles. Go get a Toyota. Maybe a Defender? At least you’d get valet service and super nice loaner cars (because it will break). Don’t buy a Jeep unless it is your toy and not a daily driver. Besides, they’ve lost that rough and ready image since every teen girl and midlife crisis Karen has one. Update- I still standby my previous review, but I love my Jeep. There IS something about it regardless of it’s quirks. It isn’t as special as they used to be. A Rubicon that spends its life in the Starbucks drive through is sad. New tires and mine has been down plenty of “roads” in name only :) It’s boxy and obviously a truck which is precisely why I love her. Apple CarPlay is the piece of tech I “need”, but all the lack of other crossover/minivan luxuries is part of it (I have a Sport S - real 4WD means you shift it!). Although the practical bug has hit my family (third row, towing - replacing my 2018 Unlimited with a 2012 LR4 bc I can’t afford an 80 series Landcruiser to replace the one we used to have!!), I will miss her truly. She made me smile on the rough days after work, tops off!
