Great vehicle!
I bought this Jeep two months ago. Within a week I noticed the transmission slipping, rear-end popping and the wheel bearings making noise. As the second owner, I transferred the warranty and the dealership replaced the transmission and fixed the rest of it with 45,000 miles. I thought I made a mistake but now that its fixed, its doing great and I love it. It really is as capable as my wrangler I traded and I can actually use it during the week. Not just let it sit at home as just a weekend toy. Mine is an automatic and I usually let it shift about 2500rpms which takes off pretty good and doesn't get left in the dust completely. I also do alot of city driving and this gets me about 18-20mpg
Fun!
OK to be honest, besides to fuel economy, this Jeep is nearly perfect! I have already been in the snow and ice with it and it handled great. An outstanding winter vehicle. This Liberty handles great in all weather. I found that my Jeep gets about 18-20 miles per gallon which is good foor an SUV. I noticed this particular Jeep is getting harder to find because everyone is buying them up.You cant go wrong with this Jeep. Highly recommended!

Power Window Regulator
From reading most of the reviews, everyone really likes this vehicle and so do I. There is one thing you need to know (and you can check it out on Google) The power window regulators have some parts made of plastic. This week was the third time my back windows broke (dropped down) First time it was under warranty. Second time dealer charged me $200 and I hope the third time will not be more than last time. Just thought you might want to check this out. I would trade it on a new one, but I understand they all have the same problem. Guess you could look at it this way. Seems only one breaks each year, Oh I forgot to tell you. The brake has nothing to do with use, they just drop down.Back to Shop
Love my Liberty! Highly recommend it!
I'm the first and only owner of this vehicle and love it! Except for minor issues with the window regulators, I love my Liberty. Has 112, 000 original miles. 4 x 4 works like a charm. I've had this vehicle through deep snow, mud and hot humid summer heat all without issues. It is a work horse. Shame they don't make this anymore. Daimler Chrysler made some positive additions to it while they owned Jeep. It rides very comfortably and smoothly. I like that the doors automatically lock once you take off with it. I have nothing but positive things to say about the 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport. If you ever get a chance to get one that is well maintained, I'd go for it.

Riley
Town driving - also road trips of 200 miles one way. All maintenance has been done at the dealership of purchase. Oil changes every 2000 miles. Tires rotated and balanced every 10,000. Garaged. Bathed and waxed regularly.

Driving Excitement
The Liberty is fun to drive and easy to maneuver in and out of traffic. Very sharp, responsive steering and brakes! A great buy. This car made driving fun again.
Great fun
I have the 5 speed. This has been a great vehicle to own. I now have over 19k on the car, and it's still going great. No problems and it still has that awesome pickup, especially with my 5 speed. And in the snow, this baby goes. Worth every dollar.
Our '04 Liberty (Libo)
On Sunday May 30, 2005 after 4 days of online research I found the Jeep Liberty. I thought it would work for our situation. I test drove an '05 Sport on May 29. It was a basic model and those seats were flat and hard. Not to mention the price without 4WD or option even with discounts and low interest & incentives. I continued my research. I found an '04 Liberty, Columbia edition 4WD on an internet special & $10K less than a new one and it only had 12,900 miles. It was put in service March '04 and traded in on May 5th of '05. Lucky me. I walked out the door with the Libo for $17,000, warranties and ttl included. Shop the internet the deals are out there. We luv the Libo.
Hawaiian4x4
I'm averaging almost 23MPG (sometimes over!) and am pleased with the engine power, quality of exterior & interior appointments. I HATE the power window buttons on the center front of the console compartment (almost like an afterthought); on the doors would be much better! At just over 14k with no problems and varied use, I'm pleased with "Herbie". Nice style, comfortable ride & drive below 70MPH, steady & predictable in 4WD as expected from a Jeep. Yes, I'd likely buy another one ... a CRD next time!
UNCOMFORTABLE!
I am not a large person; however, the Jeep Liberty makes me feel like I am in a Barbie toy car. The seat is so small -- a friend that is 6'3 and 181 lbs finds it very uncomfortable as well. I like the bells and whistles. The ability to drive through high water is fantastic in hurricane ravaged areas. But, my bum is always numb after only 20 minutes of driving!
My JEEP Liberty Sport
My Jeep Liberty has been a great vehicle. The overall exterior design is very sleek I think. The interior is very comfortable. It handles great with six cylinders and 4X4. Its a very fun vehicle to drive on the highway or offroad!
MY GREAT LIBERATION
I HAVE HAD GREAT EXPERIENCES WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF JEEP DEALERSHIP.
4WD, Necessary?
This is a review of a 2002 Liberty Sport 4wd, automatic. The car has gusto, powerful engine. The ride is bumpy and uncomfortable on long hauls. Just drove from NY to Florida and got body aches to prove it. The gas milage is poor at best. The rear seats don't fold flat which I didn't think would be a big deal...until I had the thing fully loaded, at that point I was very annoyed with the difficulty of loading the rear on an angle. This Jeep is about utility, it was great in the NY snow storms of this past winter and it does have plenty of room to make the rounds at the local stores and trips to Home Depot. In a word a 'utilitarian' SUV.
Good vehicle
I have been very happy with my purchase!

Fun for All
I bought a Black Jeep Liberty Renagade in January of 2003. I have driven it for over a year and I am very pleased. It handles well, looks great and is fun to drive.

Jeep Liberty - Limited Edition
I have not had my Jeep very long, but it is comfortable, and handles very well. The night I bought it there was a bad electrical storm with loads of rain. The 4WD handled beautifully and was easy to turn on and off.

Fun Ride
It's a great ride that is sporty and fun. With lots of nice options.
1 year with jeep
Put a lot of miles on Liberty and has been very reliable. Transmission, however, is awful. Never seems to know what gear it is in and performance is sluggish. Worst problem, however, is the poor handling on wet roads. I have changed tires but it has not helped. I have owned a lot of SUV's but have never had a problem like this. Anyone have any suggestions?
