Very Happy!

After over 4 years we are very happy with our first Jeep. My wife wouldn't trade it even up for a new Cadillac. Very reliable. Feels, looks & rides like the day we brought it home. Comfortable and ample room for good size adults in front seats. Only new tires, one recall, and 3 warranty repairs (that were fixed right the first time) through 50K. No, it's not perfect. It's not a big SUV. No back seat leg room. Rear seat does not fold flat and it does ride a bit rough over bumps(but it is a 4WD Jeep). You aren't going to haul a lot of stuff or big stuff in this, but we new all this and bought accordingly. Would highly recommend as long as you check everything out and know what you are getting.

Had Ford Explorer since 1995 so this is a down size. Might take a while to get used to but figure it looks good, drives well, and is sporty -- so what the heck! (Did love my Explorer though!)

This vehicle is fun to drive and handles well. I haven't had any mechanical problems with it. The fuel economy is a disappointment. I usually get between 15-18 mpg. The interior is very cramped and not meant for anyone with more than one child.

This Suv has been the best car I have purchased.Being an outdoors person I enjoy taking my Liberty out for sport but also use it for daily use.I would highly recommend this SUV to anyone who wants a car with power and a SUV that will get you where you want to go.I dislike the gas mileage but I enjoy driving my Liberty so its worth the price.

Vehicle rides firm simular to MB, BMW etc, all wheels stay on ground for better control etc. Great to drive on beach and mountains. Plenty of power to pull my 17ft boat. No problems to date. We feel we got what we paid for knowing fuel mileage is low ave. 18-21 mph.

My Jeep has been great. Very reliable and can handle all of the elements, snow, rain, wind. Excellent at high elevations, grips the road. A little bit of a bumpy ride but hey it's a Jeep. No mechanical issues at all. Regular maintenance. Very zippy. I have driven it in the mountains and across the rivers and it can handle it

The automatic transmission combined with the 3.7 liter engine has a slight hesitation when accelarating and occurs around 42-45 mph. The Jeep more them makes up for this problem in many other ways. It is very fun to drive.

i love my jeep. this is the 2nd jeep i have had and i will not change for anything else. i driver a jeep liberty and i get my compliments on it every time i drive it. it has a bomb stereo system and the heated seats and leather interior are definitely a plus in the winter months. one of my co-workers liked my liberty so much he now drives one himself. i get 19 miles per gallon and that is the only thing that i would like changed. i can go anywhere with my 4 wheel drive and believe me we do! i had a jeep cherokee laredo before and sold it to my daughter and she still drives it everywhere.

Liberty Review

This is my second Liberty. First 2003 model was hit by a 18" diameter tree that fell into the road while driving at 40 mph. Hit at left side "A" pillar and vehicle drove under. All windows but right side shattered but roof was sturdy enough to prevent any injury to me,my wife, and 4 yr old son who was in the back. Vehicle was totaled so I got a 2004 Liberty a week later. I love the manual transmission; much more sporty feeling than automatic I test drove. Better mileage too. My 2003 manual started out at approx 18.5 mpg in mixed driving. Then increased to 19.5 around 5000 miles as engine broke in. A K&N air filter and synthetic oil for engine/differentials,increased MPG to 20.5/22.5 HWY.

I drive about 80 miles a day to and from work. Even driving 70 MPH to and from work, I average 19 MPG. I have taken it offroad (mostly on hard and soft packed roads) in southern Utah and it performs very well. I wished the rear seats folded flat (as in the PT Cruiser). Only real complaint: lack of cubby holes to store odds and ends. I did replace the tires within 200 miles of new with a slightly larger set.

I love my jeep. I put All terrain tires on it and there hasn't been much I can't get through. I have even done off-road courses with about 200 Wranglers, and I kept up with them. They all gave me high fives that I was using it off-road. It is also my daily driver. I have a Limited so it looks good and is a comfortable ride. IT has been my most favorite vehicle. Don't complain about the gas mileage, the vehicle weighs 4500 lbs and is built like a tank. I love the power it has and I have pulled about 10 people that were stuck this winter alone. Even a big 15 passenger van. This is not an Escalade, it is a great everyday, comfortable driver that can handle anything you throw at it.

I special ordered a liberty for my wife to drive back and forth to work adding skid plates, limited slip R/E and selectrac trans as we have to drive on a steep shale rd to get home. At 15K the trans started to overheat and we took it to Lithia dodge in Concord CA, they told me that they wouldn't cover any damage because we "rock crawled" the vehicle. I tried to get help from Jeep.com and couldn't even get them to give me their last name (plausible deniability?) I finally paid $2200. to get the trans repaired at a private shop. (Lithia wanted $8k). It broke down again after a few months and the private shop narrowed the problem to a factory defect in the t/case. Don't buy one!

Be careful when considering the Liberty. The off road suspension design shakes you like crazy on even the smallest bumps. The seats are as stiff as concrete and the shape numbs my lower back and legs. The full economy is aweful. 18 mpg is the best I can do.

The Jeep Liberty is just the vehicle I needed for my life style. Lots of outdoor activities, such as hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling require a vehicle that is capable off road. While it is very capable, it is also quite comfortable. It was relativly inexpensive to purcahse compared to other off road vehicles. It also rates high in crash tests. I have owned the Liberty for one year now and am very pleased with it.

Once again, Jeep has built a very reliable vehicle that lives up to its offroad name. The engine is good, The 4WD and towing are better. Stearing is very nimble and the Curise control handles very well. Now that I'm used to her size, I parallel park deftly into spots my roomate with a Civic only tries if he's feeling cocky. :)

The Jeep Liberty is an exclent veh. It handles very well and is very comfortable. The Liberty loves the snow and rugh terian. The more the better. Great for sking and camping. You'll be the only one bot stuck. The ONLY drawback it that the Liberty runs very very rich. That is that it doesnt come near the sticker est. of driving milage. Other than that it is a dream. With the slect a track option it runs a little better but not by much.

I find that the Jeep Liberty is a solid reliable vehicle. Fit & finish is of high quality. Excellent driving manners, with plenty of power. The 3.7 engine performs beautifully. However the drawback to the Liberty is that the driver seat doesn't have enough cushion. The interior lighting is very poor. Engine can be loud when you accelerate. It's a Jeep, and I mean it does have a rough side to it. I have to say in the snow there is no other vehicle I would rather be in. It's a blast to drive when snow starts to fly. Would I purchase another Jeep? I would consider it. I would look at the fuel consumption to determine if it would be worth my while. Aside from that I would say yes, I'm am pleased with it.

I love my Jeep Liberty, it's fun, sharp looking, fun comfortable, very reliable and I feel very safe driving this vehicle. The vehicle sits tall and I feel like my vehicle can get through any puddles or debri in the road. I wouold not change my vehicle for another vehicle. I love the interior of the vehicle, it's sharp and very modern looking. The stereo is awesome and very clear. Also the engine is powerful and appears to be a little SUV, but when you press on the gas, there you go. Excellent purchase choice.

The jeep had the best feel to it by far. It drives like a Jeep yet has a refined element to it. The size is perfect, not to big, not to small like the Rav4. Everything about the interior is absolutely AWESOME!!! And the styling is the best of the small SUV's by far. It's easily the funnest SUV to drive. Drive one and you'll see what I mean. I purchased the G-package and my total cost for the package was around $2700 and then it had a $1600 manufactures rebate. Not to mention the $1500 rebate on all Liberty's. If you're in the market for a small SUV but don't want an SUV that is too small, buy this one! I can't say enough good things about it!

I picked up my '04 Liberty 2 weeks ago. Have to travel 45 miles each way to work - all highway miles. I am so glad I purchased the Liberty. I just have a Sport model, but it has the anti-lock brakes and speed control. I also love the aluminum rims which were part of the package. This vehicle makes me feel so safe. It is smooth and sturdy. Even the gas mileage isn't as bad as I thought. I agree that this vehicle is so much fun to drive, you don't mind the gas as much. Highly recommended!

One of the main things that sold me on the Jeep Liberty over other similar vehicles was the fit & finish and build quality. No rattles, squeaks, or anything. Very solidly built. More so than many higher priced cars. It is also a great buy as it has many standard features, a powerful 3.7L engine which actually sounds like it has power, and a nice look.

Great car, fun to drive... The only thing i don't like about it is the rear tailgate, the fact that it doesn't have a handle, and the window controls on the center counsel, it can be annoying to open and close the windows, but besides that the handling is awesome for an SUV, and the power is pretty good. OFF-ROAD the car performs really well, better than most other SUVs.

This is a review on the 2003 Limited. I have been extremely pleased with the overall reliability of the Liberty. It has not had any mechanical problems to speak of yet. It handled great in the snow on forrest service roads this past winter. The highway ride is a little bouncy, but that should be expected in an off road vehicle. The mileage averages around 18 normal driving, and 21 at 70 miles an hour on the highway. A very fun ride with excellent exceleration. A very nice combination of ruggedness, and refinement!

I asked to try a manual 6 cyl. I went for a ride around the block. It was sweet. The purchase went wrong from the start.Getting on the interstae, it could not get up to speed to blend into traffic. My heart was in my throat. Chris Myers exchanged the oops 4 cyl. they sold to me as a 6 cyl. I haven't been satisfied since. I've had difficulty with the back hatch doorlock since I bought it. They "fixed it" but still won't unlock at times. The purchase agreement was to have a roof rack installed that I could leave on or remove as I wanted. They put on a skimpy aftermarket roof rack screwed to the roof. It looks sad!

VERY COMFORTABLE, ALL CREATURE COMFORTS AS NEEDED. IN 10 MONTHS OF DRIVING I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS, OTHER THAN FUEL MILEAGE. ON HIGHWAY I GOT 20MPG ONCE. I bought a slightly used 4wd/4cylinder Sport a year ago with only 4,000 miles on it. The 4 cylinder engine needs to be bolstered a bit to handle the weight of this vehicle. It is very sluggish without much power. Thankfully, I have a 5 speed which helps acceleration. Other than that, it is a great vehicle. Very secure feeling; lots of style both inside and out. Seats are a bit hard and there aren't enough cubby holes to store things, not even an ashtray for loose change! I haven't had any troubles mechanically yet. I really like the ruggedness and it's great for increasing the testosterone levels! Great sound system; very good vision while driving--few blind spots.
