Great looker
Well I have to admit Iam a first time Jeep onwer and I have to say I am loven it. Great feel, and it's a SUV you can d anything with. We have a cabin up in the woods and live in the city, this SUV give you the best of both worlds.
Liberty Means Freedom
Liberty means the freedom to be different than the rest. If you want 30-plus miles per gallon, buy a Neon. If you want perfect road manners and car-like handling from your SUV, buy the Escape. And if you want to look just like everybody else on the road, your choices of cute-utes are plenty... No doubt you'll be happy with them too, because you got exactly what you were looking for-- a big car that's shaped like an SUV. If, however, you want real SUV performance mated to civilized handling and some rugged, good looks-- the Liberty is not only the best choice-- but really, it's the only way to go.

myjeep
The Liberty provides a confident ride. When Shutting the doors you get a sense of excellent build quality. The V6 offers ample get up and go power on the highway when needed. The Select trac feature on the 4wd model of proficient in snow and sno/ice conditions and very capable off road. It was an excellent choice for me.
Renegade
Seats tooooo small. Gas economy a joke. Sticker promises 17-21. You get only13-17. Air conditioners vents badly designed
jeeps rule
this vehicle has a nice fit inside and out the v6 is very quite compared to the old inline 6 they used in the amc days. it has a car like ride which is a first for a jeep. my old cheeroke sounded like a truck and hopped and skipped down the freeway every time, but it was a very dependable machine it passed many broken down fords in its day
So far so good!!
I love the overall apperance of this automobile. It is so cute. The interior is really spacious and comfy. I had only owned cars, 3 of them, and was getting fed up with all of them riding and pretty much looking the same. I traded in my 2002 Dodge Stratus R/T, horrible car i was so dissapointed with that car. I am so far very happy with my purchase, i like the ride it drives much better than my old car, and i like the fact that it has very little road noise. Love the white gage faces and love the clean, neat dash fixtures. Jeep is all around so far the nicest automobile i have owned!!
4th Jeep
The Liberty handles well in city traffic, and is competent in the sand dunes and mud holes. The '04 Liberty does preform better than our Cherokees. We can't wait to try it in the snow and ice. The 2nd day we had the Liberty I tried to stick it in the mud, all I got stuck with was dirty jeep.
Love It
My Jeep is black with the high contrast interior with leather heated seats. I live in a nothern suburb with lots of dirt roads. Traded in my convertible because it just was not the ride for dirt roads, I used to avoid them. Now with the jeep I try to avoid the paved roads, especially when it rains. The 4- wheel drive is excellent and easy to use and the radio controls on the steering wheel are a nice touch. I have put 4500 miles on it and have not had to go back to the dealer for anything. The only thing that could be better is the fuel economy, I average about 16.5 MPG.
Lovely little suv
Love it, the reson why i brought it is because my daughter had it as a rental. we took it for a drive and fell in love with it, it was my wifes desion to get it and are glad we made it. i was it had the trail rated bage because i own the a 2004
Only a jeep thing
I love this Jeep. Its outstanding preformance and fun to drive. No other compact SUV can come close to the Renagade.
Happy with change
We decided to trade our very nicely equiped Grand Cherokee Ltd. for an 04 2wd Liberty Renegade. Retired, we didn't need the larger vehicle and felt we could live without the thirsty 4.7L. I was concerned about performance going to V-6. Not any more. We are very happy with the Liberty's performance, fuel economy and overall handling.
Just missing a Bag of chips
I hate the window controls, and the remote entry is a bit wierd. Other than that, I love the Jeep Liberty. Even if the gas mileage is way less than I was told at the dealership, it is still better than my last truck.
jeep
This is a great car - I love the way it drives and interior
Liberty Brakes Danger
I brought my third Jeep, a Liberty, in February, 2004. I now have 28,000 miles on it and the rear brake calipers locked and I had to have it fixed somewhere other than the dealer. The wheels were smoking and all they could say is that repairs are only at the dealer. I will never buy another. They just don't care!
Dynomite in Disguise!
Drive those overweighted, bulky, over priced Tahoe's, Yukons and Suburbans over the CLIFF! Slip into this off road warrior with civilized highway performance. Dependable power, tork and speed with a refined 3.7 litre power plant. Forget about towing the camper, BRING ON THE ENTIRE HOUSE, ALONG WITH WIFE AND KIDS!
Give Me Liberty
Spunky SUV that grips the road and trails. Switched to the Liberty from a Chevy Suburban. Love the size when it comes to parking, but plenty of room for me and both kids. b
Love Jeeps
My jeep will go anywhere. On or off road.Great head and leg room. Handles well at city and hwy speeds. So far the only thing I don't like is how she loves the gas pump.
LOVE THE LIBERTY!!!!!!
Bought the 2004 Limited 4WD Liberty 4 months ago... This car is awesome... great for driving in new york city (and can parallel park it with ease!)... the gas mileage is really not that bad for and SUV. The car looks great, drives great and can hold a lot of cargo. And although most people don't like the window controls on the center seat, we've grown used to them and for the drive and passenger seats. I actually like them better than the on the door version. However, for the back seat, I think they should be on the doors.
Very Happy!
After over 4 years we are very happy with our first Jeep. My wife wouldn't trade it even up for a new Cadillac. Very reliable. Feels, looks & rides like the day we brought it home. Comfortable and ample room for good size adults in front seats. Only new tires, one recall, and 3 warranty repairs (that were fixed right the first time) through 50K. No, it's not perfect. It's not a big SUV. No back seat leg room. Rear seat does not fold flat and it does ride a bit rough over bumps(but it is a 4WD Jeep). You aren't going to haul a lot of stuff or big stuff in this, but we new all this and bought accordingly. Would highly recommend as long as you check everything out and know what you are getting.
Scottish Jeep Cherokee review
Changed to Jeep from LR Freelander for off road ability. Now used extensively offroad in Scotland French Alps. Tiring to drive round town due to weight and control effort required ( manual . Great long distance cruiser- lots of space and very civilised. Chassis build quality is fantastically 'vault' like but surprisingly it's unreliable with fan belt sawing thru badly positioned coolant pipe in first 1000 miles, frayed wire causing warning lights to come on and diesel leaking from injector. Superbly plush suspension offroad though surprisingly low ground clearance at sump means lots of noise when rock hopping though no damage to date.
REAL off-roader
Actually I rateing our 2003 model. Almost 50000 miles w/o any problems. Although gas mileage isn't as high as we'd like, but's it's a real jeep off road and still fun to drive on the pavement.
Jeep Liberty
Easily moves in and out of tight spaces. Quick response time.
Love My Jeep
I love my Jeep Liberty. It's fun to drive, is solid and well built and very comfortable.
Love my jeep
This is a great car!!!! The style of it is great...It rides great...The four wheel drive option to use it or not is wonderful...It rides great in the snow...My only disappointment is it is terrible on gas...I get about 13 miles to the gallon and the sticker said 21 mpg....
One year and loving it.
I have owned my Jeep for a year now and have loved every minute of it. It is an absolute blast to drive. At this point in time, I have no complaints. Fun, fun, fun to drive. I traded tires and now have BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As. The Jeep was great in the snow. What a mountain goat!
I'll Never Have a "Car" Again!
I never thought I'd be driving an SUV, but I LOVE this truck! I've always had cars but saw this in the show room, loved it's ride, and had to get it. The inside is total luxury while the outside is still that rough and tough Jeep with some sleekness to it. I just got her and had the opportunity to take her out in the first snow yesterday. It was like driving on dry pavement! I highly recommend this vehicle!
Complete and total adoration
I absolutley LOVE this vehicle. The Jeep Liberty is the only vehicle I have ever owned that has as smooth a ride on road as off.The interior is spacious enough that five people can be seated comfortably, and still have plenty of space for your cargo. The Liberty is so wonderful, after taking a ride in mine three of my friends went out and purchased one of their own.
Good Family Truckster
We bought this vehicle with 22k miles on it about 3 years ago. It now has 75k miles on it. We have had basically no problems with this vehicle, and the engine seems bulletproof, which is pleasantly surprising to me. The 4WD is incredible in the New England winters, and the 3.7L straight 6 is quite peppy (but loud). We have taken this on a few long road trips and it's not too comfortable for extended periods of time. The seats are hard and offer no lumbar or lateral support, and also no adjustable head rest. The radio and HVAC controls are large, easy to use, and located right where you want them. MPG is tolerable if you are easy on the gas.
Liberty, Great idea!
We wanted a reliable 4x4 that could take us ANYWHERE on the Big Island, accommadate everything and look tough in doing so. Having a brother do all the research was just a bonus. Gas mileage leaves something to be desired, getting only 15mpg, however it is a V6 and we live on a mountain so...The toughest decision at this point is whether to have the windows tinted silver or black. Have considered getting another Liberty but think a Wrangler will be in order instead.
Highly recommend
I have enjoyed my Jeep Liberty from the very start. I bought it in June 0f 2001. I had literally one of the very first on the street. It got a lot of looks and many great comments. I have just turned 30K. I have had a few very minor concerns, nothing even worth mentioning.
The "Just-Right-Mobile"
All I can say is that this vehicle was a splendid surprise. I went from 95 Cirrus to a 98 Astro (Great) to this cute little Liberty. I bought it used with 4000 miles. It immediately had some serious vibration and lurching (it was fine on test drive) and took it back the first day and they gave me a nice loaner and promised to resolve it in a timely manner. They showed me what they replaced and why (all brake associated). They were professional, made sure I had my registration plates (no paper tag!), full tank, and a letter of apology for the problem with a coupon for free oil changes. OUTSTANDING. Factory defect on the bumper, repaired with new bumper and paint.
I love my car!!
I have had my car for about 4 months and I absoultely love it!! I find every excuse I can to drive it. I love being up high in a SUV, I feel so powerful!! I love the color of my car, it is blue. I was warned about the gas mileage but I have found it to be better than expected. I highly recommend this car to anyone.
I love my jeep!
Perfect for my lifestyle. I drive 30 miles one way to work every day and live on top of a montain with a 1/4 mile driveway straight up. I usually put it in 4 wheel drive to get up the road.
great
i love libertys they r awesome
loads of fun,power and comfort
First Jeep I ever owned and Daimler- Chrysler has built a winner. My Liberty Limited has been flawless in all kinds of weather and in every driving condition both urban and back roads. Only complaint is the soft pedal Chrysler brakes. They need more muslce and firmer touch.
Rob's Liberty
I traded a 2000 Ford Mustang for my Liberty and haven't looked back. It has been an absolute joy to have. The only negative I've noticed is that gas mileage could be better. Interior room is adequate and I'm over six foot. Room for the kids and their stuff too. Peppy six banger and smooth transmission and transfer case make even off road use easy and fun.
2004 Jeep Liberty Limited Edition
This is not my first SUV. This Jeep far surpasses any other SUV in comfort and style. I chose this Jeep because it ad all the luxuries of more expensive SUV's at a much lower price. The engine is sound and the ride is smooth. This is the quality vehicle Jeeps are known for.
Love at First Blush; Built to Last
Love it! We just (as in 3 days ago) bought a Liberty Limited from Fitzmall.com in Maryland. I did a lot of research and it came down to the Liberty Limited, with the 28-G Package, Leather heated seats, moonroof, 17-inch wheels. It's a beautiful auto. It runs superbly smooth and clean. It is a jeep truck and the engine sounds like it. It has a lot of power and it is very tight at cornering.
Buy One Before They Go Up In Price!
I traded in my 540i BMW for this wonderful Jeep Liberty Limited Edition! The leather interior is outstanding and reliability super! Buy one now before Jeep realizes what a super vehicle they have produced!
Liberty Sport 6 cyl. of off road fun.
Excellent off road vehicle.I drive it at least twice a week on the beach. It handle well and nothing slows it down.It is a BLAST to drive. The jeep also handles well in the snow and heavy rain.I would reccomend it to anyone who plans on using the vehicle for occasional serious off road use.I have driven other small SUV's off road and their is no comparision.
Nothing better in the snow
I bought my jeep last December, just before one of the biggest blizzards in New England for the last 20 years. Couldn't resist trying it out in adverse circumstances and took it out in the teeth of the storm. I was impressed to say the least. I made it up ramp with a 12% grade, passing a F150 that couldn't make it. The gas mileage is poor -- especially in the city. If they can't design it to get better mileage without affecting performance, they should increase the size of the gas tank. A vehicle should have a range of at least 300 miles.
jeep liberty
it is great and i love it
Best SUV out there by far
preforms like no other king of the road
5 yrs old, 130K miles, and still going
I love my Jeep Liberty. We bought it new from Carmax in 05 as a 'last year's model'. We've just done regular maintenance and kept good tires on it. We have towed with it and it handles well. I stand in agreement with the other owners that it does need a larger glove box. I have had to replace the 6-disc CD changer, but only after 5 years of reliable playing. The only thing I don't like is the fastener for the sun visors. It is in reverse from the standard position and makes it hard to unhook while driving. I have actually snapped off the hook 3 times. Minor, but irritating after 5 years. I'll drive my libby till the wheels fall off.
Cheap PLastic Parts/Beware of RECALLS
Truck Vents,Plastic body parts/mud flaps fall apart.Beware of NOT getting Recall notices promptly! Ball Joint recall found by Chrysler in 12/03, My Ball Joints failed unexpectedly in 2/04.They never sent recall notice until mid Feb. The company takes their sweet time contacting you, very uncooperative with the assistance I needed. This was a serious issue that was not approached immediately by this company and they say "You had Bad Luck"?? I say I had good luck cuz this could have cost me much more than $$ it could have cost my life when it fell to the ground while driving, without warning.
Eli-Star
Best car I ever owned.
Definite Jeep Fan
The name Jeep should sell itself. You are either a Jeep person or you're not. The Liberty rides a lot like the Wrangler but much quieter a little more smoother. It is the perfect vehicle to tote the kids around to practice or take to the beach. The gas mileage is not that great but I can get about 300 mpg in the city and about 350-400 on the highway. I love how the vehicle handles and rides. If you are a fan of the outdoors and enjoys fun vehicles then the Liberty is for you. Please note, it will not impress those who are use to a high end car.
Buffy's
I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY JEEP!
Down sized
Had Ford Explorer since 1995 so this is a down size. Might take a while to get used to but figure it looks good, drives well, and is sporty -- so what the heck! (Did love my Explorer though!)
Mountain Jeep
My Jeep has been great. Very reliable and can handle all of the elements, snow, rain, wind. Excellent at high elevations, grips the road. A little bit of a bumpy ride but hey it's a Jeep. No mechanical issues at all. Regular maintenance. Very zippy. I have driven it in the mountains and across the rivers and it can handle it
