Disappointed

At first I liked the vehicle. I bought it used with 30,000 miles noticed the corner of the radio screen looked like it had gotten wet turns out that was the beginning of the “delaminating screen “ issue that Jeeps have. It’s out of warranty & Chrysler/Jeep won’t fix it because they say it’s company policy to fix it if I was the first owner but since I am the second owner I must spend $1500 to replace it. I paid $29,000 for this vehicle to have extras like heated seats & navigation and I am down to not even having a radio to listen to. A screen pops up asking if I want to change the phone settings and you cannot get that screw to go away therefore you cannot used anything and have to listen to a constant beeping as the radio self changes stations, from Xm radio to am/fm radio, sometimes the screen switches to the back up camera so while driving you are looking behind you which is dangerously distracting if you are able to use navigation it resets itself to the address you happen to be passing by at any given moment it will randomly call p we poke usually the first person on my contact list who has become used to getting hang up calls from me or it will call every person in my recent list which is also very distracting trying to hang up those calls quickly before someone Answers it constantly saves favorite songs & artist’s by itself and changes radio stations and goes through the preset stations constantly it’s a shame to have an expensive vehicle & it be this useless the check engine light has been on for months because of an emissions leak and I replaced the recommended part but the light comes back on

Spent a lot of time on research-not dissapointed

We spent a lot of time reviewing the options for a late-model, true 4WD vehicle that we wouldn't be afraid to take off-road that would also be a great long-distance driver. We also preferred to have more power and, since we were going to have to do cross-country drives we wanted to have adaptive cruise control. I test drove several different vehicles including the 2018 Toyota 4Runner TRD-Pro. The 5.7L V-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk was the obvious choice as soon as we test drove it. After 8 months of ownership and 3 round trips from the East Coast to the West Coast, and numerous shorter trips in between, we are more convinced than ever that the Jeep was the best choice.

I took the plunge on a 2018. Went for the overland over the trailhawk. Opted for more bells, whistles and luxury versus the go anywhere. For the amount of 4x4ing I will do the Overland should work. Everything is good except for annoying rattle in the drivers side door. The dealer will fix if they can.

Excellent Experience

In another two weeks, my 2018 GC High Altitude will have reached two years old. So far, I've been extremely happy with almost all aspects of the vehicle. So far I've found only two things I have any brief with. First, I was hoping it would give me better mileage than I'm currently getting considering that I do not drive the car aggressively at all. No matter how gently I drive the vehicle, I can't quite reach the official EPA estimates. Second, much as I love the start/stop function as a way of saving fuel, it seems to work very inconsistently and intermittently. Many times I'm stopped at a stop light and the engine doesn't shut off as it should. But apart from those two complaints, I really do like this vehicle and am very glad I made the purchase.

I love the safety of this vehicle, I love the 4x4 options as I live in MN and winter driving is so unpredictable. I love the size of the Grands and yet so easy to drive and handle.
