Used 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV Consumer Reviews
Looks good but poor quality
Originally went in to buy a Wrangler but fell in love with the look of this while I was walking on the lot. I wish I hadn't. Mere days after purchasing, I was trying to show some of the features to a friend and the Jeep shut off. Battery was defective and took 4 days to replace. My car was in the shop for 8 of my first 12 days of owning it due to a chip in the paint that they couldn't get right, in addition to the battery issue. Over time, the navigation would put me in the wrong location and the time would steadily increase one or two minutes incorrect. Eventually, my GPS had me located 20 miles off the coast of New Jersey in the middle of the ocean (I'm in Maryland) and the time was off by about 30 minutes. I took it in for service and they said I needed a new radio. I've been working with Chrysler and they've recommended replacing the radio 4 times, after the first 3 attempts were all "defective" per their "expertise." I had been working on this case for almost 4 months and finally just pulled the plug and sold it. Terrible customer service and a lack of empathy for someone who spent $40K on one of their vehicles. Steer clear of this one. Jeep has good brand recognition from the olden days but quality has dropped tremendously.
Excellent vehicle
I leased this vehicle in 2018 and I just bought it after the lease. I know this vehicle and its beautiful and the Color is just right. I got the White wit the Black 20 inch Wheels and put red Caliber covers on it and people thought I had a SRT. The vehicle is highly dependable and that is what I needed. Im satisfied with this one.

Continuous Rattle and seat issues
2018 Brand new Grand Cherokee. At 22 months the sunroof starting making a rattling noise continuously like someone was hitting a metal pipe on the glass. I told them that it's obvious the sunroof is the issue and needs to be replaced. After constantly bringing the vehicle for a total of 9 times they agreed to replace the sunroof. In between those times they blamed the following items on the rattle: passenger head rest, panels in the trunk, removed and reattached the front bumper, took the headliner down. Jeep kept my car over 3 months trying to fix the rattle. After the sunroof was replaced I drove it out of the lot only to hear a new rattle in the front passenger corner. Turns out the clips behind the dash were loose and they told me they have no idea why it did that because they have never taken the dash out. Add the fact that the seat kept creaking at every turn. Only took them 4 times until they basically changed the seat out. The climate control also sucks in this car and doesn't even come out hot and when you split it for the upper and feet area there is almost nothing coming out at your feet. Jeep Corporate got involved and their only solution was 5% off a new jeep. Why would I make the same mistake twice. I will never purchase another Chrysler vehicle. The car does drive well, has good HP and features but what's the point if you have the car falling apart around you. Way overpriced.

Awful start-stop and unconnect, unusable manual
This is my 3rd Jeep Laredo and this is the worst. The start-stop is terrible. It immediately turns the Jeep off when stopped, even if stopped at a stop sign for less than 1 second. There is no option to delay the start-stop so its a complete waste and I always have to turn it off. Another example - pull into a parking space and it turns off and then turns back on when put it in park. Bad lazy engineering. This is a Jeep, not a Honda. Didn't buy it for gas mileage or wanted camera assist parking that doesn't work properly and beeps if you turn it off. Overly paternalistic. Unconnect - If I am using a flash drive/mp3 player, the Unconnect always defaults to the beginning after the Jeep has been turned off. So, if I am listening to a book on tape and was listening to page 45, it starts at page one when the Jeep is turned off. Unnecessarily annoying. My 2014 Jeep audio system never lost it's place and there was no terrible start-stop or parking assist. Jeep should make a model without all these terrible options or just go back to being a Jeep. The owners manual is unusable. Every page is filled with CAUTION and WARNING messages like "don't put your hand in the engine fan blades" that its impossible to find useful information.
