Dependable, comfortable transportation
I bought my Jeep from my dad after driving it around for awhile. Now after a year of ownership I can say I love this vehicle. It now has 106,000 miles and I still average 18.9 mpg (even with the optional 245 width tires). This has been an incredibly reliable vehicle and is extremely comfortable on long road trips. The 4.0 litre straight 6 (with K&N filter) gives decent power. Oil consumption between oil changes is barely noticable. I will probably never sell this vehicle. I like the exterior styling - it has a good rugged look. The suspension is tough and does its job well off road.
2004 Spec Ed. 4X4
This is my 2nd Grand Cherokee Spec Ed. I traded it in with 13k miles (trade in was $20k even if I didn't want to purchase a new one - I only paid $25k for it) After driving my new 4X4 Spec. Ed, I love it! I've had a few off road drives thus far without problems. The quadra trak II works well.

Great
This is the best car in the world I love cars but none have worked as great as all the others have problems and waste too much money on gas. I love my ride!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoyable
I have put 2500 miles on a new GC and no problems, I traded a '99 GJC Laredo for this one. The '04 has the H.O. V8 it is great for passing. I like the 6500# tow rating. The GC is just the right size for what I use a vechile for. I'm using high test gas in this one even thought the factory says engine will run okay with 87 octane. My is inferno red.
Buy the limited
Absolute perfect car for reliable performance and go in the snow.
Wonderful
I have owned many car brands over the years, from Japanese to German. This is my second Grand Cherokee since 1993 and I found both to be the most reliable vehicles that I have owned. My current Jeep performs terrifically in the city and on roadtrips. It is comfortable and stylish. The 4X4 is irreplacable in Massachusetts - I never have trouble getting around in the worst of snowstorms.
2004 Jeep Overland
Good looking, handling, pleasure to drive.
Great Jeep
I owned a 2002 before this 2004 and both Jeeps have been perfect so far. I like the ride, comfort, and style of the Grand Cherokee. I can't think of a thing that I don't like.
IT is the best in the snow, and beach
i like it over all it DOESN'T ride as hard as the infiniti fx45 and the bmw. It is the most wonderful car of the years!!!!!! It doesn't cost as much as the bmw and infiniti fx45 and fx35.!!
This one's a winner
Just got a 2004, graphite Overland with GPS. Traded in my 2001 Limited This is a sweet ride. Much better seats than in the Limited. Side support and heating function much better.
Long Term Jeep
I was a "dyed in the wool" GMC owner (1999 GMC Yukon SLT-4WD)until I went shopping.... The Jeep was almost as comfortable (albeit smaller), had more bells and whistles for the $$$, and the price was hard to beat. I have yet to take it on a long trip and the climate hasn't changed in order to test the A/C so "the jury is still out" but if first impressions are important, this JGC-Limited has definitely made a positive one. My wife has a 2000 JGC-Laredo and loves the body style as well as the way it "zips" around so we'll see if I feel the same after four years of ownership.
hello
It is very fun to drive and it turns sharp to . it also gets going in a quick amount of time.
Love the car but a big time gas guzzler
I just bought my Jeep it had about 6100 miles on it already. I love the car its very comfy and feels very safe. Except for when u turn fast or slow it seem top heavy. Also the mpg is not that good. I drove my car for 3 days and already was at half a tank. Its a big time gas guzzler.
FIRST SUV
ALWAYS WANTED A 4X4 SUV AND I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE GOING WITH A JEEP. I LOOKED AROUND BUT GAS MILAGE WAS A BIG CONCERN WITH OTHERS, PRICES WERE PRETTY EQUAL.
great little truck
The jeep handles wellin all situation. The 4.7 is quick off the line, and just loafs at70. back seat a little tight for six footers with tall driver and passenger up front. Pulls my popup like it wasnt even there. After almost seven thousand miles I have no complaints and I spend a lot of time in the car. Not as cushy a ride as the 2000 Lesabre it replaced, but a whole lot more fun to drive.
Transmission
I purchased a Demo with less than 6K on the speedometer. The transmission failed within 1ooo miles of my purchase. The Dealer repaired the auto, but, is this something that should (can) happen this early in a car's existence?
Love It!
I've had 1994 & 1997 Explorers and 2000 Grand Cherokee. They were all reliable but I love this one the best of all. I will most likely buy it at the end of the lease.
Great SUV!
This is my first Jeep and I absolutely love it! Got it with the 4.7 V8 with Quadra Trac. If you're like me and you want your SUV to have real capabilities (towing, off road/inclement weather, cargo etc.) the Grand Cherokee is the way to go. Yes, it rides like a truck, but that's because it's a truck, with truck like capability! Looks great at deer camp as well as cruising downtown. My wife has a Trailblazer, which has about 40 more HP, but it's a dog compared to the Grand Cherokee. Few minor issues since purchase, including worn out sway bar bushings, and a popping sound from steering whee -l- both replaced under warranty with redesigned parts. Fuel economy is decent. Again, it's a truck, it's not supposed to get 30 mpg.
My 4th Jeep-My dream Jeep
My 4th Grand Cherokee-I just love the way it drives, the Overland is an exceptional vehicle-interior quality at its best-love the fancy features like the rain sensitive wipers and GPS. And last the off road capability is something more than an experience!! Thank you Jeep team for making such a wonderful vehicle-love it
Jeeps for business
I have owned Jeeps for 25 years. This is the 10th large Jeep. They are great for business use traveling the midwest in all sorts of weather. I used to travel in a BMW 733i, but have only traveled in Jeeps for the past 6 years.
ALMOST SATISFIED
First year I had the car about 6 times back to the dealer. Changed shocks, alternator, battery, squeeky window, rear gear with a loud bang changed parts still scares my kids sometimes
Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited
Have not had a single problem. Just drove from Chicago to Key West and back without a hitch. After 10,000 miles am actually achieving 21.6 mpg at highway speeds (70+) Actually achieved better mileage than a 95 (same model) with a six cylinder 4.0
Good car needs work
The GC is a great car to have around for the snow. I use to haul around my kayak and snowboard. The dealer is the worst place to go. They dont believe anything is wrong with the car when I bring it in. The air bag light went on and they couldnt figure out what was wrong with and told me the problem didnt exist. I took it to another dealer and they fixes it. They need a training on customer service. I used to have an Acura and they had great service. Next car I want to get is the MDX.
Cherokee Rules
This is my 2nd Jeep Cherokee and this 2004 model is roomy and fun to drive - The cargo area seems larger than the previous model I had (1993)and that was an 8 cyl. This 2004 model is a 6cyl - full of power, control and smooth driving. As for the mileage - I have been getting approximately 15.6 miles per gallon - and that is with the air conditioning is on and driving on the average of 318 miles per tank Overall 0 I must say that this is the car to have - it is a beautiful work of pride and dedication that the auto manufacturer has built. Thank you Jeep
Highly Satisfied Buyer
Previous 3 SUV's were GCLs. Particularly enjoy the feel, confort and the many "bells and whistles" of the Overland especially rain-sensitive wipers and tire pressure monitor. Appreciate pleasing interior design. Would highly recommend to my friends.
2004 Jeep Spec Edition
My second Jeep, very predictable, reliable, handles very well on snow and ice, V6 a bit sluggish would opt for V8.
Jeep Grand Cherokee- Rocks Competition
The 4.7L V8 has handled every condition possible for the Northern VA/DC area. The powerful engine is amazing, and is awesome on hills. It can handle off- road, to a stroll in the neighborhood. The car has been built to meet great standards. Not only does the car look powerful, the Jeep is meticulously pieced together with strong, and reliable parts. When it all comes together, it is an agressive 4x4 that gives you the horsepower you love and luxury you need. Many people underestimate the capabilities of the Grand Cherokee, but they then learn that the SUV has one of the highest rated off-road suspensions in it's class.
Silver Overland
Comfortable for long and short trips alike. Great acceleration for passing. Handles road imperfections smoothly and far less body roll than my '95 Laredo, it feels good. The vehicle does seem to wander a bit in a strong cross wind. I live on a dirt road in the mountains - QuadraDrive system is sure footed on all surfaces, including ice and snow. Heated seats are great. 18-20 mpg seems good for a V-8 SUV.
Theres hope yet for a jeep
Always had trouble with jeeps, my wife loved them, bought it for her. So far so good. no problems at all. excellent pickup(HO V8) but the draw back is awful gas milage. handles cross country great. The overland has a stiffer suspension and is 3 inches higher. Has more of a "trucky" ride but we like it.
Can't Top This
Not much to say; this is the third Grand Cherokee I've owned. Except for regular maintenance, the last one never saw the the inside of the dealer's garage. It was totally reliable and I got 15 MPG average over the four years I owned it.
04 Grand Cherokee
Over all the jeep has been good. Took a long road trip and got great gas mileage. driving around town and got 15 miles or less. Service on the truck was not satisfied. Key got stuck in the ignition. The navi is a great addition to the veheical
Good Jeep
I love the look of Jeep grand Cherokee
Jeep special edition
With the execption of gas milage I am very pleased with the Jeep. It has all the requirments that I wanted. The 4WD for towing my boat, the ease of towing behind my motorhome and nice appearence.
My Jeep Review
I bought my Jeep after looking at a Ford Explorer and Expedition. Overall I really was looking for a more compact look but yet still a stylish look with lots of features and Jeep won. I love my Jeep it is a beautiful color (pewter) with Slate interior with oh yes a sunroof, it won my heart.
Overland
Great vehicle, fun to drive, and is a real head turner.
Love it
Enjoy the ride, the looks (not only how it looks but how others look at it), It feels safe ( nice with grandchildren),
Love my Jeep
This Jeep is very smooth on the road - takes potholes well! Great in the snow.
problem already
I bought this vehicle when it came to my bodyshop for some paint work, did a carfax and it was a 1 owner with low mileage, very clean, ran fine for two days, then the oil pressure gauge kept going on and off. I presume it needs an oil pump at 55,000 miles. Not happy.
purchase price
Invoice of vehicle minues $4250 in rebates and 3.9% APR for 60 months. All in all it turned out to be $600 less that Trailblazer LS and I got a V8 with more equipment. Not sure how great of a deal it is, but I don't think I left too much money on the table.
First six months
Drivers seat could be a little wider
Love my Jeep Cherokee Limited Laredo
This is my 2nd Jeep I've owned, and will mostly purchase another one in the future. It is an extremly reliable and long lasting vehicle. It maintains it value over years and best of all, I get the better of the both, rides like a car with the power of a truck. It is super fun to drive in the snow!
My First SUV
I traded a 2000 VW Jetta in for a 2004 Grand Cherokee. While I was a bit shocked at the much bigger gas tank and gas cost, I truly love this car! It has been a pleasure driving it around town and on long trips. I like the feeling of sitting up higher than other drivers while not losing the comfort of luxury found in the Grand Cherokee.
Love the 2004 Overland Jeep
I've owned two other Jeeps before and have had bad luck with them. I often wonder why I keep buying them. My 1999 Jeep gave me the most problems, bad brakes mostly. The dealership always helped and fixed the problems. I love the look of the Overland, the size and I can go almost anywhere. My friends have other SUV'S and they are so big you can hardly fit them in your garage, forget about puting on a ski rack! So far my Jeep has been great, NO PROBLEMS Hopefully I'll have this Jeep for a very long time.
Happiness
Had a great buying experinece, from the fleet manager on the net. No hastle. Took delivery and it has run as designed and built. Am very satisfied.
awesome suv with the power of a truck
I was searching for an affordable suv with a good strong name. My preferences were in comfort, off-road capabilities but something luxury as well. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V8 has all of the above and it is a smooth yet powerful suv. 4x4 is excellent for off-road. Great family suv with a good amount of space. I knew the minute I started to drive it that it was perfect. not very bouncy like other competitors and gas wasnt as bad as others as well. I can't wait to take a long road trip in my jeep. Dont forget the V8's towing capacity either the maximum is 6,500 lbs that is a large boat.
04 Jeep
This is our 4th Jeep. I sometimes wonder if we'll ever own different kind of vehicle. We are definitely a Jeep family.
Jeep Cherokee Laredo the best
Best small SUV on the market - it will actually go off road and climb hills, handles gravel roads great! It is also quite smooth on the interstate. A true SUV for all situations. Only wish the mileage was better, but you pay for a V- 8 motor.
Do not like the vehicle
Quadratrack drive performs poorly in snow. It is really not a 4X4 but a 4X2
i got a lemon
my transmission makes a clicking noise when i put it in gear,it didn't come with the right floor mats, the engine knocks on cold start ups, trim coming off around the windshield, navigations system is messed up,missing screws that hold the tail light on(the dealer did put a old rusty screw in for me)rear window defogger broken, engine runs ruff at times and stalls when cold...all this and i have less than 4000 miles
2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited
I'm still under warrantee...the only problem I had so far is that all of a sudden it started to run rough. I took it back three times and they finally found the problem after telling me that that's how it should run. They changed one side of the injectors....it's been a about 8 months and it's starting to run rough again so I will need to take it back. I also noticed that that the sliding door for the moon roof is tearing at the edges...don't think it should be doing that since I hardly use it. I think something is missing..need to have them look into that too.
