I like Jeeps
This is my 2nd jeep. I bought is used with 30k miles. I have had to replace the water pump, power steering pump, brakes, radiator. I love my car but the repairs bother me. I have 100,500K now and have to consider the next car I will buy. I feel very safe in this Jeep on the highway. I feel if I was hit I would stand a chance of living and this is what separates the Jeep from the Jeep wannabes.
Not so reliable
Gas gauge shows incorrect readings, gear changes are not smooth. Changes in 2WD/4WD takes times.

Title
When I bought this car it had about 50,000 miles on it. I have driven it for close to 2 and a half years and did not have any major problems as of yet. I had to change the front stablizer and brakes. Overall those cars go up to around 100,000 miles and then the problems start to happen. My opinion is do not buy this car with more than 70,000 or you will be sorry for it.
Mommy vehicle
I love my jeep. It has been a great car. No problems until 120,000 miles. Had to replace Transmission at 130,000. Brakes now are replaced every other year. Radiator blew at 155,000 and just lost my steering pump. Would buy another. lost the A/C at 125,000 and still problematic.
What Problems?
I bought a 6cyl/auto. with 41k miles and have put on 18k more, so far. Most of my driving is in town, with a few road trips. Aside from the right door lock sticking(when using the remote), the noisy front swaybar bushings, and front alignment, I haven't experienced any major problems. Maint. is fairly straightforward and parts prices are average. Front brake pads were replaced at 41k, but the rotors were fine.
