Used 2005 Jaguar X-Type Consumer Reviews

i absolutely love my x-type. it has quick response from handling to throttle. i love the fact that all windows go completely down. get the premium alpine sound system w/cd changer...it's awesome!
Excellent All Around
I recently drove my X Type home in a snow storm. The only cars on the road that were not having trouble were the SUVs and me. The X-Type is under rated!! Ford has done an excellent job of working out the problems without taking the British styling out. It is an excellent value, excellent performance, extremely comfortable, head turning styling. My only complaint is that the in-city fuel economy is awful, 17/18 mpg on premium. The car does however love to run down the turnpike at 80 mph with 25 mpg. If you are wondering if you should get one for yourself, stop wondering and go for it.

2005 X-type Sport...Love it!!!
This is my second X type. My first was a 2003 2.5 liter, that was very reliable, and fun to drive. This one is a Sport 3.0, and is WAY better! The handling is really, really improved over the plain X types, as good a BMW 3-series, I think...well worth the difference in price. I shopped around first, looking at the Audi A4, the BMW 3's, the Infiniti G35 and M35, and even considered the S-type, but after I drove an platinum-colored X-type Sport, I ordered a black one on the spot!
Underrated Cat
I read lots of pros and cons on the Jags before the purchase, but proceeded after a test drive. No regrets. The car is quick and nimble. It handles like a dream and has all the creature comforts necessary to survive the speeds of L.A. commuting, along with the parking-lot nature of the rush hour. Kudos to Ford/Jag for refining this model.
