I Love the wat the car drives and handles! I bought it with 83,000 miles on it and added 13,000 so far. I have not had any problems with PUMA except for a power stering leak! It is a great buy for me. I'm 6'0" and have no problem with the space on the inside!

Bought it used with low mileage...perfect..Now has 66,000 mostly highway miles on it...Total bliss..It's my second Jag..First was '94 XJ6 and was so in love with that one that I didn't trade it til 125k and everything under the hood leaking and car locking itself without ptompting!..SO, this little one had big shoes to fill....It did..In fact, I like its easier handling due to its smaller size, and its highway performance has not suffered..I still get away from those big trucks when I need to and the hooks are great on these Jags...Just had its first repair...back passenger window fell off the track ..I always do the maintenance at the dealership.LUVIT!

I recently traded in my 2000 S-Type 4.0 to get an '01 3.0. Boy am I happy I did. The '00 leaked and had many little things break (the drawer in the dash, window regulator). The '01 feels for solid and is much more quiet. It's smooth and so good looking as well as 7 mpg better on gas. I miss the power and the growl from the V8, but I feel much better in this one. The only thing I have a problem with is it's inability to not fish tail when taking turns in the rain, no matter the speed I am going. Here in Florida, the roads get slick. I have never had this problem with a Lexus, that's why I am a little shocked. I LOVE this car, I love the style, I love everything. And it's cheap to buy used.

I have a 2004 E Class and Bought Used S- Type because I always wanted one! They look better then any other car on the road including Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, etc. The first week I had it didnt start cause the car thought it was being stolen. The next week the battery died, and other times there is a clicking noise that cant seem to be corrected. I love this Car, and get excited when I drive it, but its not dependable. The car will not shift out of park when parked on an incline and the engine pings even though I use Octane 93 Fuel. If you get an S-Type get a 03 or Newer!

I had GM, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda before. I was looking for an Accord or a Camry. I saw this beautiful used Jag including 3 years extended waranty that I can get for a price new accord or a Camery. No Comparison. No comparison. No comparison. Do not hesitate. This is a beautiful piece of art. Head turner. Jaguar should work a litle on Gas. 12.4 litters for 100 km in Canada in town. Rick Koch, thanks for recommending this car to me.

This car is beautiful, the dealership is great, and the ride and performance is fantastic. It just isn't very reliable and has poor quality. A great ownership experience is spoiled by frequent visits for warranty work. Coolant and oil leaks; seat control problems/replacements; window motor, transmission, dash board and glovebox replacements, trunk leaks and other issues. With only 41,000 miles during my 3 year ownership. Inquiries directly to Jaguar were met with representatives who had no interest and no care about my issues. I have been so dissatisfied with a $50,000 Jaguar's quality, but loved my $13,000 Saturn with nearly no quality issues.

I feel sick just thinking about my cat, I've had nothing but trouble ever since I got it. The first month I got it I had to get the transmission fixed and now the car goes off when i get a red light. I like the leather seats and how the car looks inside and out. Don't get this car if you want a good everyday car.

We bought our pampered car off lease. We did have a problem within a month or so of owning the car (transmission problems), but the dealership quickly resolved the problem and we continue to have a smile on our face each time we drive it. It is silk on wheels. It looks great, is quiet and solid inside and has excellent road manners. It is one of the best values in a luxury class. I’m surprised there aren’t more sold because this car is a better ride, with greater performance than most in its price range.

Still happy with s-type. Ran into one problem that I had a hard time fixing. The firing that distributes coolent had to be replaced, the original is done kind of plastic, replaced it with a metal part. The bolts holding the tower were extremely difficult to remove and tighten. Finally was successful after buying a gear wrench. Mom had to learn to use cruise control because this car is a performance vehicle. Quiet, smooth ride even at high speeds. Only a minority of parts are difficult to get. I have found it easy to work on. Use the right tools. I have had to replace spark plug wires, air sensor, rotors and pads. This vehicle set in a garage for @4 years (owner had health issues) with no driving only being started occasionally. If buying an s type be sure of the transmission. The car is a joy to drive. It truly is a performance luxury vehicle.

This car is unbelivable. I've owned this vehicle for 7 years now and have never given it credit to write a much deserved review. Going on 46,000 miles this car remains in my personal showroom. But when it's pulled out on weekends you better believe it delivers. I just can't get rid of it! Always sporty and a pleasure to drive, not quite a thrill as my E500 or Lexus GS 430 but still is a number one contender in the luxury midsize division. For a seven year old car it still turns heads and has always caught the eye of any common bystander in any parking lot.

I bought this car new. Had mostly Toyotas, last car was Volvo. This car is a joy to drive. Quiet, smooth, powerful and just a classic beauty. I get 20-23 MPG with a 3.0L. People stop me still to compliment the car's looks. Radio reception is sometimes weak and sunroof has been balky lately. I like this so much better than my wife's Lexus. I would definitely buy another one.

After owning BMW's (over-hyped), Infiniti's (over prised for quality) and a horrible Merc (over priced, poor quality and service, a chrylser with a Merc decal), I am absoultey surprised at the great quality of this car. Fun and comfortable to drive, with great AC, all a plus here LA. Distinct, classic looks that exudes class and quality.

We have had this car since 2003 and at that time it was 2 years old. It is now 2017 and my wife still loves this car. She says it is like a fine wine which just gets better with age. It now has 178,000 miles and still drives like a charm. This has been the best investment we made since building our dream home. Thanks for the chance to share.

We had hoped that Jaguar had improved its reliability, but apparently not. We bought our S-type with 36,000 miles, and within two months the transmission went out (Jaguar said it needed to be replaced with a rebuilt for $7K; we had it fixed elsewhere for $3.8K, but still, ouch). The windshield washer pump also failed ($500), a rattle in the dash has cropped up, the AM radio can't hold a station (how hard is it to make an AM radio work?), and there is an intermittent warning light just comes on and off randomly. We love the way this car handles and looks, but can't wait to get rid of it.

S-Type Review

The Jaguar S-Type has treated me well the past 5 years I have owned it. However, minor technical problems do come up now and then. It's a good idea to get the extended warranty after end. Acceleration is not on par with MB, but handling is superb. The styling is more appealing than most. Interior quality is excellent, and even better with the 03 Revised models. The 19/24 fuel economy is just average. The car definately is a head turner, but it is quickly silenced with electrical headaches. I do suggest this car as long as it is an 03 or newer model. I plan to try trade it in for jaguars new XK. Overall, this car has met my demands and I can reccomend it.

This is a retro of the 1957 Mk1 Jag saloon I purchased years back. Very comfortable and enjoyable to drive and ride in. Great road car. Has enough power to get out of tight spots. I have it serviced regularly and it is reliable. Keep good tires on it for a smoother and quiet ride.

I have never had this much fun driving! The exterior gets people to turn and look and I get a lot of thumbs up from other drivers. The drop down to passing gear is a little hesitant but acceleration more than makes up for it. The premium sound system rocks. The rear view mirrior shakes with the volume at 50%. The best part of driving this machine is how it handles on curvey, hilly roads. This car has far exceeded my expectations.

After almost twenty BMWs in the last fifteen years, I purchased my first Jaguar. Wow! What a car! First of all, it IS beautiful. It is an absolute head-turner. Nothing, except my MINI Cooper S, turns heads as consistently as the Jag S-Type. Only complaint. Rattles - air vents in front dash appear cheap and are prone to rattle. A little bit of a squeak in the rear somewhere. Will bring both issue to Jag's attention at next service. Otherwise, I love it. My wife loves it! Unless BMW starts building beautiful cars (and not butt ugly ones!), I'm here to stay! Thanks Jag for being Jag!

This car was purchased after owing 2 Stealths fr0m 91' to 2001.The drive was not quite as nimble as as Stealth, but the ride was smoother by far.I really appreciated the heated seats, all the safety features and the elegance.I never had a problem with it, except for the driver window went off track, but it was fixed in an hour and I was back on the road.I drove the Jag from Detroit to Miami and actually enjoyed it all, even after 10 hrs. on the road, I was thrilled to be cruising thru the Smokies.Great car. I recommend it.

Leased my 2001 S-Type in March, 2001 and haven't looked back since. The car is a "looker" and different style than the typical Mercedes/BMW that seems to be everywhere. I've enjoyed quality performance and a quiet ride. The S-Type has performed excellently and I look forward to driving it in the future.

The only negative about my 4.0 S-Type is the transmission does lag a bit when down shifting into the passing gear. But Whoa...it makes up for lost time!! The reliability has been excellent. This car has performed above my expectations both inside and out.

Found this car in my local newspaper of all places. With about 55K miles on it and perfect condition. Lost the right front wheel bearing about 1 month after purchase. 56K miles and the right front window regulator at about 63k. I have taken the car on two trips from Cincinnati, one to DC and the other to the Outer Banks and both trips were pure fun. The current tires are useless in snow or ice and I park the cat when the freezy skid stuff falls.
