A lemon or a Jag? What's the difference?
This car was the biggest disappointment out of any car my wife and I have ever had. It looks great and drives good but we never get to drive it. Rather than that spend our time calling and leaving messages to various people at Jaguar NA and the dealer to check on repair status with no success whatsoever. The car is on its 5th visit to the dealer's service department and every visit is for more than a week. we leased the car less than 4 months ago and it's been nothing but problems. Water leaks, strange smells, check engine light on all the time, reduced performance issues, malfunctioned gas pedal. You can tell they invested the money in making the car look good but underneath that pretty skin it is a terrible turd. Between my wife and I we've had more than 10 BMW products and neither one of them has come anywhere close having problems like this. On top of that Jaguar NA would not return my phone calls - total lack of customer service. Stay away - buy Japanese or German.

Irritating Purchase!
I love the handling and the sound of this car but the stereo is junk and the body rattles like a tin can. It is so annoying that the pleasure of the handling is lost.

Flashy BRG
Absolutly love this car. It sounds as good as it looks. I always get compliments. We have not had any problems in our first 17 months of ownership.

This is a great car
A couple of months ago I bought what was, I think, the last new 2018 F Type R Coupe in America. It's a great car. It's beautiful, has outrageous performance and you don't see one every 10 seconds, like you do with 911's.

So far so good.
Update. Loved the car. Comfortable, fast, and plenty of room for reasonable people. However.... Coolant leak. Not the Big One that people on the forums talk about, but big enough. Tow truck, expensive repair, etc. Problem fixed, but a never ending smell of coolant that never quite went away. Doors that I could open in freezing weather, but would then freeze shut once I was in the car. Parking brake that would also, sporadically, freeze. Interior leather trim on driver's door armrest that started to come off. Local upholstery guy was more than willing to fix it, but it wasn't going to be cheap. The above in conjunction with Jaguar essentially abandoning it's ICE line made me leery of getting parts in the future, and resulted in me getting rid of the car. It's been over a year and I still miss the car..........just not the problems. 3000 miles in and so far so good. Random points: 1. I'm 6'2/250 with 20% body fat. I fit in the car just fine. If you are old or have mobility issues, getting in and out might be a challenge. If you are much bigger than I take a test drive and at least one test "sit." 2. I have the base model and it is still a lot of car. It would be easy to get in trouble with this car. Drive this car actively and attentively....not passively. 3. Visibility is not great; proper mirror set up and seat position is the key here. 4. Ground clearance, generally, is fine. Ground clearance with a passenger is definitely altered. Something to consider depending on where/how you drive. 5. I'm an introvert. This car attracts outrageous amounts of attention. Outrageous. 6. Overall mpg for me is 30mpg. I don't drive like an animal. 7. Trunk is pretty good. I know everyone needs to haul 50 yds of mulch every day but the trunk is perfectly adequate for grocery runs. 8. If you are new to Jaguar, be prepared for an awful dealer experience. That's just how it is.
