Best Car I've owned since my 72 cutlass supreme!
This is a fun comfortable car that goes through anything a New England winter can throw at it. Looks great, drives great and gets better than rated gas mileage and I drive a car hard. The bluetooth phone interface sucks, but that is the only bad thing I can say. I've put over 35,000 miles on the car and it still drives and rides like a new car. The dealer can make all the difference. The one I bought the car at is great for service etc., but one that is closer to where I work, really stinks. I plan to keep this car for a long time, that is if I can get it away from my girlfriend! Update June 2018. Still love this car but be warned, do not put Hanook tires on it. They don’t make them to spec and it messes with the traction control computer. Replaced them with Generals and the car feels like new! I’ve had to do the front brakes but that is about it. Update Dec. 2018. Hyundai really does honor their warranty, even provided a free loaner car because they didn’t have the part in house. First time I’ve had to have warranty work done (54000) and the service was great. Update Jan 2020: now with 80k miles and not a single issue since the last warranty repair. Other then regular maintenance, I’ve not had to put a cent into this car. Still gets great mileage and handles very well. Everything is holding up very well. I plan to keep this car indefinitely! Update Jan 2022. Now at 112k miles. Only one repair, a ball joint, other than normal maintenance. Car is wearing very well and still drives and handles like new. No signs of rust though some fade is popping up on the side mirrors. Still intend to keep the car indefinitely. Update May 2022: car is currently at dealership having engine replaced due to bearing failure. This is a known issue that had a software update to detect the failure last year. This is a warranty repair and again, loaner car provided. Mileage at 115k. They did ask for service records and fortunately I keep mine. Update Nov 2022: After the engine replacement, the car feels brand new. More pep and better gas mileage to boot. No issues or other repairs to report. 122k miles. Update May 2023: Starting to feel some looseness in the front end. Having this checked out tomorrow. Other than that, no issues. 127k miles Update December 2023 Recently had a front caliper replaced. Starting to show it’s age and mileage with squeaks and groans. Clear coat coming off of door handles and other plastic components like the foil on the hatch. Still runs and drives well. Prior front end looseness that I mentioned turned out to be a tire issue. 140k miles. Going to keep driving it until a major repair makes it impractical.

Chevy person...Hyundai was not my choice
Where to begin...I got the car in September of 2017 at the Hyundai dealership in Tyler, TX, but I live in Canyon Lake, TX (4.5hrs away), and I work in Boerne, TX (an hour away from home)! I had the engine seize and the closest Autonation was in Austin. They replaced the engine direct from the factory, but the engine was on a 6 WEEK NATIONAL BACK ORDER! (Needless to say, I wasn't convinced that I was the only person having issues) Southpoint Hyundai in Austin at least did the best they could to take care of us, and put us in a rental. This was in May 2018. When we got the call that my car was ready, it had been roughly 49 days. According to the paperwork, the cost of the engine replacement was approximately $10,650, and the rental cost for that length of time, was $1595! So for a vehicle that I've only had for 8 months, that the extended warranty paid to fix it, could've paid off the vehicle!! Now...I'm not even CLOSE to being done! About 2 days later, it was leaking oil, so back to Austin I went, since they're the ones that replaced the engine. With the distance that I had to go just to get there, I had them make sure not to call me unless they were SURE that it wasn't leaking anymore. WHILE IT WAS IN THEIR POSSESSION, the NEW engine started knocking, and they called me to say that they needed to order ANOTHER engine from the factory!! (Mind you this is now the THIRD engine total, that's been in this vehicle!) So, needless to say, I was put into another rental, all of which was covered by the extended warranty department. Not as long, but midway had to go back and switch into a loaner. About half a month or so later, they call me and say that my car is ready for pickup. It is now the end of September 2018. All seems to be fixed this time, and no issues that we were aware of...yet. So then in October 2018, we drive to Phoenix, AZ for our anniversary. We thought all was well until we were driving back. My husband was driving, the vehicle was in cruise control, we were going down I-10, the car makes a noise, and the rpm's rev up to 5500!! Of course, he taps the brake pedal to disengage the cruise. As soon as he barely puts his foot back on the accelerator, it revs back up to 5500 rpm again! So, we pull over, we're 300 miles from home, and of course in a dead cell service zone, about 60 miles outside of Ft. Stockton, TX. We finally get towed to the nearest town, Iraan, TX, some small town in the middle of nowhere! We stay the night, unplanned, and the next morning, we get towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership, in Odessa, TX, 90 miles from where we were stranded! Lithia Hyundai of Odessa was amazing. We were just trying to get home at this point, and they were able to get us into our second loaner within an hour! This was October 19, 2018. I received a call, and we made a weekend out of it, to drive the 6 hours to Odessa, to pick up my vehicle...again. They had replaced the transmission, because it was fried, and informed us that there's no way we could've known what the problem was, there is no dipstick, and no check engine light that came on. That was on January 5, 2019, that we picked up the vehicle. It is now January 10, 2019, (only 5 days after we just got it back) and my vehicle is back in the shop!!! When we returned from Odessa, we got the oil changed and an inspection (since they had it so long my tags were expired from October!) The service techs informed us that the skid plate was missing about 10 bolts/clips, and it was cracked, and just barely hanging on. It had been rubbing against my tire, and ripped almost the whole wheel well off. Not a big deal considering, but Odessa said to take it to the closest Hyundai dealership to us, (which is 30 mins away, in New Braunfels, TX) and they would pay to fix or repair it. Then! When they were doing the oil change, there was sludge in the engine and in the oil filter! From a brand new engine?! How?! So today, January 10, 2019, my husband takes it to the dealership in NB to get the skid plate issue looked at. Needless to say, that's the least of our concerns. There are multiple oil leaks, and a coolant leak! OMG I give up! So, they kept the vehicle so they can determine where it's coming from, so we can determine which of the other two dealerships that have worked on it, is at fault. We have called the Hyundai National Consumer Affairs person, and now we wait... :( I can't say that I've totally written off Hyundai, because the loaner that Odessa provided us, was a 2017 Santa Fe Sport Ultimate, and was loaded. The service manager at Odessa told us that for some reason, my make and model Tucson has had issues! Well yeah...I see that! So, I don't care if they put me in another Hyundai, I just don't want THIS ONE back! I don't trust it, it's unreliable to me now, and I'm anxious as to what will happen next, or where it will leave us stranded next! So, hopefully I'll be in something else soon!

I bought my car brand new off the lot in Feb 2015 - It's been in the shop 7, yes, 7 different times in 3 1/2 years! Some of the issues were technician related, other were not. I'm now looking for another new car when my plan was to have this new car paid off and reliable until my children graduated high school. Back to the drawing board. It has made knocking noises, grinding noises, rattling noises and of course every time I take it in I get told that's normal! I'm not stupid. Finally, it was found that I had an oil leak and the oil was disappearing! Took it back 2 or 3 times to have that fixed. Had the brakes replaced, had to take it in 3 or 4 times until that was done right, now, I need a complete engine overhaul! On a three year old, one owner car! Thank goodness my powertrain warranty is covering everything but now I do not feel safe with this car.

Piece of Crap
We have owned this car for 4 months and it's crapped out on us twice. Both times were electronic related. For some reason Hyundai can't get the electrical right on this thing. The first time anything happened was when we tried to go somewhere and the car wouldn't start. Nobody could start it, so we got it towed back to the dealership and finally someone fixed it. Two months later, the car started knocking. I went back to the dealership and they told us it had to do with the heating and air conditioning system on it. Now, I'm just trying for the lemon law, so I can get my money back and buy another car that hopefully works better. In short, I wouldn't recommend wasting your money, the dealership is selling it for cheap for a reason.

Three Year Review: So Far So Good
28-35mpg highway... 33-35mpg at 60 mph 28-31mpg at 75+mph. I regularly drive across the country and it is a good ride. I would like more flexibility with armrests but a pillow gets the job done when spending more than 12-15 hours at a time driving. No repairs needed but I will need better all-season tires if I spend time in the snow. Bluetooth and heated seats are great.

Not what was advertised
Make sure the dealer is reputable and will stand behind the car. I had to take it back to the dealer twice in the first week that owned it. A wire harness was not connected (the first time) the gas gage did not not work (the second trip). The dealer said "these things happen" I asked them where was the product control. They had no answer. The mpg is much lower than what Hyundai advertises. Of course their response is "it depends on how you drive". The cabin get very warm in the summer. All things considered I would not buy another Hyundai.

Small SUV
I wanted something higher than my previous car. So far, I like the Tucson but I loved my Sonata. If I had it to do over, I would probably purchase a sedan. But overall, it's a nice vehicle.

seized engine
I am 62 yrs old. My husband and I have driven lots of different cars and trucks. We drive them for lots of years. We have only bought one truck new. The 2015 Hyundai Tucson is the first car we have driven that has had the engine seize. We take care of our vehicles with oil changes, fluid checks, and regular maintenance check ups. We work with a local mechanic. Very disappointed with the service we received from our local Hyundai dealer with the problem of the engine seizing up. Hyundai has had problems with engines. Not worth the hassle of dealing with a manufacturing problem. We buy Dodge Ram trucks because Dodge stands behind their vehicles. Hyundai does not.

Great car!
Overall, drives and handles pretty well. Gas mileage is pretty good, too, considering I drive over a mountain daily. After awhile, though, I started to notice the stiffness of the ride and the road noise. Not that is worsened, but the newness wore off and I'm noticing it more. A good car, though, and I like it!

Crappy engine, huge repair costs.
1-on Nov 2019, I bought a used 2015 Tucson, after 3 months, I went to Jasper in Alberta, Canada where the engine failed, and I was stranded. I paid 2 thousand Canadian dollars to tow it back. And another 5or 6 thousand CAD to replace engine. 2-i bought 2014 Tucson from Auction, and found both engine and transmission major fault leading to not drivable, too slow in moving and exhaust leak to cabin. 3-When I was shopping and visited a dealer, a agent recommend me a car with new replace engine. I promise to God that I told all truth.

Snow Beast!
My wife had the base/cheapest model for 5 years 90k miles and yes the paint is chipping and the oil Pan gasket went at 80k miles but that’s it. Still on original brakes and suspension which is amazing. Holy cow this SUV is a beast in the snow! We drive it with all season tires and just drove through 18” deep rutted out snow with no problem in lock out mode. Always handles normal snow with ease. Again with all season tires.

This review may save your life!
I bought a brand new car, SUV Hyundai Tucson 2015, back in November. I' ve to admit that the attracting five years warranty offered by dealer, and the pretty look of the model was a great influence in my decision to go ahead and pay catch for the car. BUT, after ONLY 5 months of driving the car, it needed to be taken to the service center for a couple of issues. I am not describing the firs issue because is not a life threatening matter, because the second incidence is the one that is very serious. Last Sunday when I was on my way to the Church, the car's tailpipe felt down, the complete gasket exhaust pipe felt on the ground, not only the sound was horrible and the experience very scary, but what if the tailpipe would it felt in the middle of the Expressway? After, receiving more than five phone calls from the road service asking what's was wrong with the car, the vehicle was towed to the service center. The car's warranty covered the massive repaired of the entire muffler piece, but the safety question is still in the air, not body in the dealer gave me any better option, the manager never returned my calls, and the sell person didn't give me a better option to either -trade in the car or to go and apply for the lemon law. To make the long story short, I'm very unhappy with the car, not feeling secure while driving with my five years old inside. Please, if you are planning to buy a Hyundai, think twice and read reviews on all the muffler problems.

Poor Choice
I purchased my 2015 Hyundai Tucson in January 2018. Since January I have had to have a new engine because 4 months after purchase my engine seized and this past weekend my exhaust system fell off of my car as I was backing out of my garage. Not a quality vehicle

DO NOT PURCHASE
I purchased this car in January of 2018. Four months after purchasing it my engine went out there was no new engine available or used engine available so they agreed to rebuild it. I kid you not I got woken up by my hubby this morning because he needed to take my car to work because the engine blew up again. I tow it to a local dealer and pulled up my paperwork from getting the engine rebuilt and discovered we only put 3,908 miles on it before it blew again and this time they cant even rebuild it because the block is cracked. Great news thou THR ARE STILL NO USED OR NEW ENGINES AVAILABLE!!! Apparently this is a known issue with the motors. My Hyundia dealer said they have five sitting behind the shop waiting. My only hope is my insurance will total it out if not when I get if fixed I will be trading it as soon as I can!

2015 Tuscon Seized Motor
I bought this car in 16 with 24,000, and it was a certified pre-owned, so all warranties were in effect and I spent 2500 for a wrap around warranty up to 120,000 miles thru Hyundai. I have 115,000 miles on the car, mostly highway miles, and my motor seized up in another state from my own on my way home. Always, had all my work done on my car at Hyundai, except a few oil changes when I was on the road. Hyundai at first blamed it on the company that changed my oil. Then 2 days later they said I will still in the good on my oil. No oil light came on when my motor started making knocking noise on the highway. I then pulled over and checked my oil. It said it was full. I got back on the highway and drove 3 miles and the car quit. I was on the side of the road for 3 hours with my road side assistance through Hyundai, and have been paying for a rent a car for 2 weeks. They want to give me a used motor with 12,000 mile warranty or a re-maned motor that I have to partially pay for. I drove a dodge caliber til it had 250,000 miles and no motor blow up. I will never buy another Hyundai and none of my family or friends will either. That is a poor quality vehicle that needs a new motor with 115,000 miles on it. Hyundai should be ashamed of the product they are selling the public. But obviously they are not, because when this does happen to the consumer that bought their product, they do not want to work with you. I have a wrap around warranty to 120,000, and Hyundai does not want to give me a new motor, which they should anyway with no warranty at ,115,000 miles. That is a really bad product, in this day and age, when a motor blows up at 115,000. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI. YOU WILL BE STUCK LIKE ME WITH A LOT OF MONEY OUT OF YOUR POCKET, AND A BROKE DOWN CAR YOU STILL OWE ON.

great value for what I paid
The best thing that I did was to shop online. The vehicle was available, the mileage confirmed, and the color confirmed. When I went to the dealer to test drive the car it was waiting for me with my name on it.

Love my Tuscon!
Vey satisfied with all aspects of my Tuscon. I would recommend it to anyone!
Overall good purchase
Bought mine used with only 12500 miles on it, now up to 25K in 21 months and only problem is rear hatch refuses to lock all the time. Dashboard lights are too dim to see in daylight, even at max adjustment, poor visual design. Sound system not up the standard of my old Santa Fe. Handles well, good gas economy, just not my ideal ride.

Piece of Doo Doo
I am glad (or not so glad) to see others on here with similar issues. Bought my 2015 Tucson in 2017. Had only 28,500 miles on it so I figured it was newer. Now I can see why it had two previous owners. From day one it had electrical issues. ( Thank God it still had factory warranty left). The AC unit had to be replaced. The fuel gauge regulator was not working and even though I would fill up the take with gas the cheap digital screen said it was empty. They had to take the tank off and replace the sensor. The display screen would black out here and there. The key fob had to be replaced a few times and to this day is not working. In the beginning I would use my key to unlock the doors and then when I tried to start the car the alarm would go off and the car would not start. How stupid is that!!! The inside lights above do not go on when you open the car door. Hard to see inside the car at night. The dealership did their best to try and fix everything for 4 weeks but to this day it still has electrical issues. My guess is, the person/s at the factory must have been hungover from the night before when they put this hunk of junk together. I'm stuck with it but it is a 100% lemon! Will I ever buy a Hyundai again??? LMAO....not in this lifetime or the next!! DON"T BY HYUNDAI CARS!!!!!!!!! Had a nice Kia Soul with over 150,000 miles and not one day of trouble. I will be buying a Kai next time for sure!! Bye Bye Huyndai!!

2015 Tuscan Limited going strong
Purchased new off the lot in Round Rock Hyundai. Great vehicle at 150K miles, routine maintenance and tires. The only major issue was A/C replaced this past hot summer, other than that, has served us well and still going strong! dave rodriguez
Poor choice for a crossover suv.
I put 81000 miles on this car and the first thing that I noticed awhile back was the A/C did not function very well. On high you can still feel the summer heat through the windows. I chalked that up to the affordability. Then just after the warranty went out for the minor repairs one of the fan settings doesn't function unless you sit there and fiddle with it until it sits just right (not where it clicks in btw). So I have to live with that because let's be honest the dealer will charge an arm and a leg just to examine the vehicle. So I'll just suck that up too. Then one day I was driving to work and when getting off the freeway the car made a massive jerk and I immediately let off the gas. Well it went fine after that, in a 30 mph zone, so I didn't think much more about it. When I started to drive home and entered the freeway the car would not shift properly there was a huge loss in power then the engine started making a knocking sound. I pulled into a parking lot and then the oil light finally turned on. So at 12 am I was waiting for a tow, thank goodness for AAA. When the dealer looked it over, took a full day, turns out there was no oil in the car. Now I checked everywhere I was that day and there are no oil spots whatsoever my engine was clean and so was the undercarriage. So where did all the oil go? They still haven't told me that one. I am getting everything repaired under the power train warranty and they are paying for a rental, but really why should a 2 year old car with 81k miles on it need a new engine already? And where did the oil go? Try a different make and model if you are interested in a small suv.

ALmost perfect
My Tucson is great. I didnt have a choice of options as this was a pre owned car. It should have a back up camera and automatic head lights but those are just a couple of things that I miss. Otherwise this middle size SUV is great.

I love it
I really love the engine it is has good get up and go, it’s very comfortable, the interior and exterior is very nice. But I’ve noticed that if it’s windy and the wind is pushing against the car sometimes the car will move around so you gotta keep it inline but overall it’s a really good car.
Consumer of oil
This vehicle consumes oil 2.5 quarts in less than 8000 miles. Oil light never came on but the engine sounding like a bad sewing machine did. Dealership is in process of doing an oil consumption test. Three oil changes and trip every 1000 miles to get stats to send to Hyundai to see if there is issue. Would not recommend this car to anyone who wants to have for long period of time as I did. Major mistake.

10 years and running strong
I bought this car in 2016 February against the advise of many friends who advised to go for the RAV4 or Honda CRV. Was very skeptical but the car has proved me wrong. Tried to sell it last year to upgrade and my mechanic friend was furious for trying to replace such a low maintenance high performance car. To be brief Pros: Very low fuel consumption, Very low maintenance. Had only regular oil, filter changes and tire change (after 7 years) It only started giving trouble when I had it parked during the Covid lockdown. But once I got it full serviced has been a faithful companion. Cons: Expensive genuine spares, 2.0L engine not good enough in Kuwait Summer 120F, slow acceleration on the 2.0L (which is good for me as I trend to accelerate without even knowing it). Just upgraded the infotainment for a touchscreen and can still reach 140kmph after 10 great years. Go for the 2.4L minimum or go for the Santa Fe. My next car will surely be a Hyundai or a Kia, but keeping this one until it starts giving more frequent trouble. Been in 3 accidents every time other driver fault and got police reports to prove. The car took the brunt and not a scratch on me. Took it to the garage and asked them to get it fixed whatever the cost. The Toyota HiAce who made a sudden U turn got its door bashed in and thankfully my car was below 15kmph else the Toyota would have flipped over.
