Ok reliability, need a lot of improvement
I bought my car in November 2014 with 47 000 miles. It is an appealing car, that competes with Toyota Camry, Honda Accord , Nissan Maxima etc. Overall it is decent car with a lots of features even in a basic trim (GLS) model line. Decent acceleration and braking, plenty of interior and cargo space and decent overall reliability. The good: Appealing design, easy access to basic maintenance, ease access to spark plugs oil change and filters as well as battery and belt maintenance. Decent acceleration 195HP from basic 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine. Decent braking and great list of safety features ( airbags, ESP stability control, ABS as well as good crash tests. Great interior and cargo space, decent size mirrors and good visibility. Price per value. The bad: Handling/ impossible to align geometry/steering. ( Car is slightly toed out, even within the specs per manufacturer-tried to align tooo many times with dealer as well as independent parties). As an result, car need tiny, yet constant steering corrections, which leads to fatigue in longer trips. basically car cannot go exactly straight in higher speed on Hwy. Jerky transmission shifts. Bad body roll. Lesser than advertised MPG . Uncomfortable seats, paint peeling from steering wheel. Road noise, even with Michelin high end tires. Fuel economy not 24/35 in reality City 20/Hwy 30.. it is pretty bad for 4 cylinder naturally aspirated engine. Overall car need a lot to be desired and even a low price tag does not justify shortcomings in design and quality control. Shall you have any questions hit me up.

LOVE!!!
Bought my "Sparkling Ruby" Sonata on 5/26/12 and just don't want to park it! It's so fun to drive and very smooth. Great deal for so many options. Would definitely recommend.

2013 Sonata GLS
Lots of interior room. AC cools quickly which is a must because of the hot Texas summers. Quiet and comfortable ride. Good gas mileage. Good trunk space.
frequent traveler
I bought this car with the popular package which was pretty good with heated front seats, power drivers seat and alloy wheels. (Can't stand hubcaps). I also got the power rear view mirror. Overall, I am satisfied. The one issue I have is that the steering is electronic power and does not have the center detente. Wherever you point it, it goes. So it does not center itself when you let go of the wheel. This is OK when I don't think about it, but has a disconcerting affect if I do. However, for the money, this is a great car. I frequently rent cars for my job, and the Hyundai Sonata has always been a favorite. If you iphone, you will like the options. I prefer playing through bluetooth.
Blue storm
That's the name I have dubbed my 2013 Sonata. Was looking for something more fuel efficient after my trusty 4runner was totaled. Cross shopped some small SUVs and midsize sedans. In the end, the Sonata had the right mix of value, style, and performance. Rode better than the Tucson, CX 5 suvs. More personality and value vs Camry and Accord and more comfortable than Altima.
