2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Consumer Reviews

Great mileage because it doesn’t work
Bought a Santa Fe hybrid calligraphy in June 12volt battery issues. The vehicle has been at the dealership for over 3 months. The 12 volt battery keeps being drained to the point of being ruined. Hyundai is aware of the issue and is working on it. The dealership has given me a courtesy car but I bought a Santa Fe and by now it should have been repaired. I filed a claim through Hyundai, my case worker was rude. Rick
Great Value with one major annoyance
I bought the '24 Sante Fe SEL hybrid after testing almost all competitors. Nothing came close to this vehicle. Great ride. Tons of room. Lots of safety and convenience features at a great price. I've had it for 9 months and 8000 miles. Averaging 40-41 MPG. Very happy with this car with the exception of the AC/Heat Fan control touch screen. The icons are WAY too small and VERY poorly lit. Touch screen is always covered in fingerprints and completely invisible in certain sunlight conditions. Now that it's winter I cannot make any changes while wearing gloves - extremely annoying and super distracting/unsafe. I read that Europe has banned touch screens in new cars after 2026 due to the distractions they cause. Not sure if that's true or not. I really like this car and will be the first in line to trade it in when Hyundai replaces the touch screen with usable controls like the 2023 model had.

Wait for the 2025 Model Year
First let me say that I loved the vehicle for the first 1500 miles. Then things started going sideways. My car has been at the dealer for over 65 days with no timetable for a repair in sight. Transmission on the vehicle was damaged by a defective driveshaft, or an improperly installed one (dealership hasn’t been helpful). So I’ll review what I liked and didn’t prior to the car being out of service. PROS: Technology package: is comprehensive and easily more advanced than most other models. Space: A ton of space If you fold down the 3rd row. Ride Quality: I loved the ride on the 18” wheels and it took road imperfections with no problem. CONS: wireless phone charger: sits directly in the sun and will overheat your phone and/or blind you for a second if the sun catches your phone right. Digital Controls: A/C and heat controls are dim and very hard to see during the day. DCT Transmission: the SUV has serious problems backing up any incline, its weight makes trying to reverse up any incline a white knuckle experience as the car will attempt to roll back down the hill aggressively. 2024 seems like a test run for what will most likely be a great 2025 model year. I would suggest waiting for ‘25 when all the new features are refined.

Worst car I have ever owned
Purchased a '24 Santa FE Hybrid Calligraphy trim. Car broke down at 350 miles. Was at the dealership for 30 days. Determined that catalytic converter was faulty. Hyundai replaced and I proceeded to drive the car another 3k miles at which point it broke down yet again while I was 200 miles away from home. Engine check light came on, message to check charging system, and the car went into limp mode (i.e. will not go over 30mph). Had it towed to the nearest dealer in Wausau, WI (which was 50 miles from where I was staying). The dealer did a quick diagnostic and said no codes were appearing although I have a photo I took of the dash showing the engine and charging check lights on. The dealer could not provide a loaner or a rental, so I had to book a car with Avis out-of-pocket. I am now without a car YET AGAIN waiting for it to be transported to the Hyundai in Downers Grove, Illinois where I purchased this vehicle. I have purchased several new cars over my lifetime, and I have NEVER experienced anything quite like this. $52k for this?

Transmission issue in less than 200 miles
We purchased a 2024 Caligraphy and thought it was a great package for the price. Two days later the car started making noises and it was brought back to the dealer. I think it has somewhere around 200 miles on it. The dealer diagnosed the problem and ordered the part and was originally told would arrive 3 business days later. While not happy the car was decommissioned so quickly, 3 days seemed reasonable. When that day came the dealer called me to say they got an update from Hyundai that the part wont come for 3 weeks! I fail to see how a vehicle that is still in production doesn't have parts available. So it is clear they only care about new car sales and not existing customers. That day I put in a complaint on their website and got a case number. The next day I called in to see what the status was and was told she was going to escalate it and I would get a call in two days telling me what they could do. Two days later I get an email saying they received my concern and I would hear in two days. So I called back asking what happened and the people on the phone clearly have no ability to do anything. She said she would escalate but it would take two days. Completely pointless. It's a real shame since we really like the vehicle but this is leaving a really bad taste in our mouth, they clearly don't care about you once you buy. So good luck if you have problems.

Mechanical issues
I love the SUV as far as design and features. But it as too early to buy as far as them fine tuning and figuring out the issues. My car will set the emergency break on its own if too much vibration is near me. Such as a car with too much bass, or a automatic car wash. My car will get stuck in emergency brake mode and it won't release for several minutes ( I was stuck in the car wash for 30 minutes, in the middle of a busy road for over 5 minutes) . You have to shut the car off and on and repeat until it resets. My car also when reversing doesn't always go back into drive. Usually just happen in my driveway but happened in a parking lot the other day. Not good. My valet mode didn't work when I left my car at a hotel when I left town for a week. I was very unhappy. My backup camera stays on when I am driving forward. At times the backup camera will not go on.

No Sunglasses Please
We like the vehicle very much. It drives and handles well for us. Strong engine, roomy interior, and unusual outside design. Liked everything on it until I put on sunglasses while driving. The little camera on the steering column can't see your eyes and therefor shuts the cruise control off. Who wants a modern day vehicle with a cruise control that won't work? The little smart camera cannot be disconnected either.

The SEL Santa Fe Hybrid is a really good ride.
I shopped around and was looking at Chevy Suburbans, Toyota Sequoya, Hyundai Palisade and the new Santa Fe. Having come from driving a Suburban for the pas 8 years, I looked there first. However, I would have to spend over $80K to get what I wanted and I would not save any money on gas. I passed on the Toyota for the same reason. Finally looking the the Santa Fe and the Palisade and test driving them both, I like the smoother ride of the Santa Fe. The SEL trim to me was the sweet spot. Of all the extras that the more expensive builds had, the only thing I was going to miss was the side cameras. And to me that is not worth an extra $10K. Wireless carplay uses my iPhone and the navigation with Waze is a lot more flexible that any nav system Hyundai would add. Generally, your phone is the best infotainment system on any drive. Finally to the good part. Everyone mentions that the Hybrid has decent MPG 34/35. But what no one has mentioned is that it has a range of 550 miles; more if you learn to optimize the EV part of the truck. The gas tank is 17.5 gallons. My Suburban had a 27 gallon tank and I could barely get 500 miles out of it. It takes me almost three weeks to fill up. And when I do, its half the price(almost) of what I am used to. The ride is very smooth. The acceleration is great. It's not a sport car but it can move and when it does, the battery gets charged. Plenty of leg room and storage space. Overall it's an enjoyable ride. OK, here are the negatives and to me they are relatively minor. First, it's a Hyundai. What that means is that there will be quality control issues (assembly QC issues are based at the plant in the US and not Korea), especially on a first year redesign. Since I bought it, there have been three recalls (only one minor one for the hybrid). The car constantly yells at me to take a break (maybe it knows something I don't). I already have a wife so the car needs to keep its opinions to itself. And what's the point for self steering cruise control if it yells at you to keep your hands on the wheel? If I have to have my hands on the wheel, I will steer without its help. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. If I could wrap in in bubble wrap and keep all scratches and dents away, I would.

Senior Driver
I was driving a 2016 gas highlander so my comments are a comparison to that. Our new Santa Fe is almost a 5 star based on our requirements of safety assist features, fuel efficient, and well equipped 3 row suv with captain chairs ( only offered in Calligraphy). The Santa Fe is a wow for luxury throughout, quiet and the audio is stellar. The list of safety features is outstanding and if you’re a features person, this is your vehicle. MPG is as rated. Things to note: The change from a gas suv to a hybrid. Acceleration is slower but it performs well at highway speeds. Gear shift is on the steering wheel and takes some getting use to versus center console. It takes some time to set up the infotainment features, including the driver profiles (including fingerprint sign in), but MyHyundai assist is helpful. No spare tire (unlike the gas Santa Fe) and is equipped with a tire pump. Matte finish - if you choose this per Hyundai hand wash only! Cargo Cover - no under rear floor storage on hybrid, gas model only. No over head sun glass storage or convenient coin storage. Check which tires you get - ours were pirelli which are noted to be a quiet excellent tire. Lesser tires could add to cabin noise. Sorry if this is TMI.

They thought of everything!
I was looking for a new car, and when I saw the redesign I was instantly interested. Never owned a Hyundai, so was a bit skeptical. Once I saw the car in person and drove it, I was very impressed. Many cool features- 5 star overall safety rating, the car pulls out of a tight parking spot with a remote control, uv sanitizer, cameras everywhere, matte finish, interior is absolutely amazing, drives smooth, I love I do not need a key any more I can drive car with my phone, I can go on and on. Oh yeah 10 year power train, 5 year bumper to bumper and 3 years complimentary maintenance. I’ve owned 10 cars in my life this one hands down is the best value I ever had.

New model looks great but check engine!
Bought the car in May 2024. Great looking exterior and interior and over the top technology. First problem was with battery as it was dead. Had tow truck recharge battery. Learned that you need to drive a hybrid at least 2 days a week as battery won’t get recharged. I have 2k miles on car and recently got a transmission power message and was losing acceleration on the highway heading home. Had it towed to dealership where I already had an appointment for a recall. I had called the dealership and gave him all the details of the issues I was having and the service manager called me to ask me what was wrong with my car. I explained to him all the issues and then had to call back again because I never heard back from the dealership, they told me they were working on it and I have not heard back from the dealership . Not at all happy with Hyundai service and now I understand why they have such a high mileage warranty because they can’t fix the cars. I would not recommend this car at this point in time. I will give them credit for the new look of the Santa Fe SUV but need to work on the engine and improve service!
I loved my Santa Fe. This was the first brand new
I purchased my Santa Fe XRT in March of 2024. These past two months driving it have been great. I receive lots of compliments on the new body style. I will say, it looks a whole lot better in person. If you aren’t sold on the design from photos, I would recommend going in person and checking one out yourself. The 2.5L turbo in a family SUV makes this almost feel like it isn’t a family SUV. It is more than enough power and torque for us and most families. The wet DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) shifts seamlessly and it at times, it is almost unnoticeable, unless you’re really paying attention to them. The interior features and safety features across all trims are what set this vehicle apart from others, while being below their price point. That, paired with the 10 year powertrain warranty and a really good Hyundai Dealership will keep this vehicle running for years to come, especially with regularly scheduled maintenance. I am receiving over 20mpg driving in the city of Virginia Beach and into the 30’s driving on the highway, so I am receiving well over advertised MPG’s with what should be the worst trim level for MPG’s. To be honest, I do not have a lead foot. I am usually a speed limit driver and get passed by nearly everyone. The XRT’s tires and height difference do not really make that much of a difference in feel. The interior cabin seems no louder than when I test drove the SEL. It does help when loading a child into a car seat, which leads me to my next favorite thing, the inside space. Due to the boxiness, the interior is a bit bigger than the previous gen Santa Fe and it shows. The third row is actually useable, especially if you are transporting people under 6’. This is a big family’s dream. There are TONE of cup holders. The leatherette seats and plastic are easy to wipe down. Plastic…this leads me to some of the things I dislike. There is a lot of plastic used in the interior of this vehicle. The plastic used in the center console feels super cheap. It creaks on hot days. The creaks happen when driving and going over bumps. It almost sounds like a house settling. I am hopeful that this will stop in the future and it isn’t totally a deal breaker because once the vehicle cools off inside, the creaks stop. The plastic is the same throughout the vehicle and in the trunk, when the seats are folded, stuff in the back can slide around and damage the plastic. There are already scratches on the arm rests in the third row from our stroller hitting it. I just wish that instead of that cheap feeling plastic, Hyundai would’ve opted for a softer touch material. For the XRT, it seems as though US trims do not come with the advertised Skid Plate. The fact that a more off road trim doesn’t come with 360 degree cameras is baffling to me as well. The XRT, considering its ability to tow 1000lbs more than other trims, does not come with an included tow hitch. Why? That doesn’t make sense to me either. Back to the good. The infotainment system works great. Wireless Apple CarPlay works awesome with no sudden disconnects like some vehicles I’ve used. The sound system is basic but perfect for people who are just playing Disney songs for their little ones like we do. The HDA is awesome and makes long trips much more tolerable. Sometimes it may feel like the vehicle struggles to stay centered but it hasn’t traveled outside of the lane, even on curves between 65-70mph on the highway. I found the best way to use it is to lightly hold the steering wheel because if you hold it too tight, you will most certainly be working against the steering wheel while it’s trying to stay centered, causing much more side to side sway. The smart cruise control is amazing, it even notices when a vehicle jumps in front of you going faster than you are, not slowing you down but keeping speed instead of braking. While other times, it will slow you down because someone is exiting in front of you and out of your lane. That part can be annoying. If you stick to the center lane, this isn’t an annoyance. The safety features work great. Blind spot monitoring works in the rain. Just have to keep the sensors clean. Overall, I love my 2024 Santa Fe XRT. The drive is clean and smooth. A perfect vehicle to compete with the size of the Palisade at a more affordable price. UPDATE: I loved my Santa Fe. This was the first brand new vehicle I had ever bought myself. I had it for 8 months. When I first bought it, it drove smoothly. The tech was great. The room was spacious. I boasted and even defended this vehicle from multiple transmission complaints, saying “trust the brand and warranty”. Do not trust this vehicle and its DCT. That is all I have to say. 3k miles and the shuttering started and only got worse. I refused to be stranded hours away from home with my four year old daughter.

Almost too new!
Great value. I drove almost everything in this category before driving the new Sante Fe hybrid. I was prepared to not like the new body style but really liked it once I saw one in the showroom. I thought it was odd that the SEL did not come with floor mats. I had to order them. They came in 3 days later and did not fit (??). I had to return them and was told that there was a problem "Hyundai-wide" with the new hybrid floor mats not fitting. No date so far for the "fix." WeatherTech doesn't have them either. That said, the car is a great value! Most vehicles in this class have front seats that are way too small. Not the Sante Fe. First tank of gas is giving 37 mpg. Very comfortable and very quiet. I'm glad I waited for the new body style.

Hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
Recently purchased a 2024 Santa Fe Hybrid Calligraphy trim. So far I've had the following problems: 1. Unable to get the digital key function to work on my I-Phone. Took it to the dealer and they worked with the Blue Link specialists and still haven't solved the problem. 2. I popped the hood and the next day found the handle that's pulled to open the hood on the floor. 3. Unable to get the Home Link function to work. Tried all the methods, training etc. no luck. I have a 2019 Honda Ridgeland with the same Home Link feature and had no problem using the training function on the garage door opener to train the Honda Home Link features. 4. Took a ride this afternoon and after about 5 miles the car started to jerk and stall, warning lights flashed, message appeared to check the charging system, among others. Had to have the car towed to the nearest dealer. Not bad for a $50k+ vehicle that's not a month old.
Poor Man's Defender
Bought the XRT. Fit and finish are outstanding. Inside materials are high quality. Great look and very comfortable seats. Roomy. Tech is really good with wireless charging and Apple and Android car play wireless. Only critical change would be the gear shift location as steering wheel has to be in particular position to see gear selection. Very happy with purchase.

$35,000+ for this?
We bought our 2024 XRT in June of 2024. We loved everything about the car until September... The first issue we had was after my wife remotely started the car. Her Sante Fe lunged forward with nobody in the car while my 4 year old daughter was 3 feet from the front end of the vehicle while walking around to get in. The car was scheduled for a dealership visit to remedy this after a recall due to the WRONG code being put into the vehicle's computer system during manufacturing. I will admit that problem has not occurred since. However, that was the first of many problems. In September, shortly after a dealership visit for an oil change and recall repairs, our car became completely unreliable. It went haywire with every dash light on, power steering loss and the car would not turn off. The dealership had to call a tow truck to pick it up. They gave us the run around for a couple months before saying it was fixed in late November. We pick up the car and 48 hours later... Same issue. The car went back to the shop and as Christmas approached I reached out to the loaner department to let them know I needed a 4 wheel drive vehicle as that is what we purchased. We had a trip to Iowa to see family and wanted the 4x4 in case of snowy roads. They informed me that loaners were not supposed to leave the state. I asked to speak with a manager at this point and shortly after this, I received a call that our car was ready. Obviously, I was skeptical and asked to speak to the GM as I didn't trust taking that car on a 1,000 mile+ plus journey immediately after it's been in the shop for 3 months. Thankfully(so I thought) the GM made an exception and gave us a brand new 2025 Sante Fe XRT as a loaner to take to Iowa. Unfortunately that car broke down on the way to Iowa. The dealership rented us a vehicle to finish our trip and come back home in. Upon returning home, we picked up our car. We were able to drive it about 5 weeks before the same problem happened again and then again a couple weeks later and again a couple weeks after that. Each time the dealership told us the car was fixed. We have now owned the car for 9 months and we have had the car in drivable condition for approximately half of that time. We have taken steps towards a lemon law claim through Hyundai. Unfortunately, they have told us that we do not qualify. Additionally, the mentioned the possibility of Hyundai buying the car back in an act of good faith. Apparently they do not believe we deserve that either. We have spend countless hours and money on fuel dealing with this mess. In total we have been in 6 different loaner vehicles. Every time we go to the dealership is a minimum of 3 hours of our time wasted when you include our drive time to and from the dealership. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI!

FAW front attention warning
Love our new Santa Fe 2024 but the forward attention warning says it's turned off on the touch screen but it really isn't. While driving and you have sunglasses on even a real cheap pair of non-polarized ones it says you're not looking forward and it turns the cruise off after a few seconds very annoying have a ticket in to see if they can figure out if there's needs to be a software update or what but after seeing all the things on YouTube and Google looks like it's been around a few years and they just can't figure it out
“Better than expected”
The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid SEL has delightful road manners. Better than expected gas mileage 42.3 mpg over the first 12,000 miles (by driving like a human being), and respecting what the car was designed for, efficiency. I personally cannot understand why people cannot obtain the same mileage, by just driving in a civilized manner. It’s a hybrid, not a race car. It has excellent acceleration based on its power to weigh ratio, and is extremely quiet operating in electric or in gas mode. By using the brake regeneration paddles on the steering wheel, it operates half of the time in electric mode and half the time in the environmental unfriendly mode. I personally become confused reading the reports of auto critics from different automotive publications. Who appear to give other automotive manufacturers of hybrid vehicles similar rating. Example: X number pros, and X number of cons. Not very creative writing. The only one that is being conned is the consumer. The Santa Fe hybrid is an excellent vehicle. The critics should be more critical of themselves.

Superb SUV for the money
This truck has all the creature comforts you could possibly want, completely and beautifully redesigned in my opinion. Its appealing and unique look turns heads wherever I go. The seats are a joy to sit in, and it boasts a fast and powerful turbocharged engine while maintaining an impressively quiet cabin. It features all the tech anyone could ever want, including an amazing camera system. The ride is silky smooth, and the interior is so beautiful it amazes me every time I enter it. The wonderful Bose 12-speaker sound system is a delight. With 7 seats available and ample storage when the third row is down, it offers both space and versatility. Plus, it comes with the best warranty in the business for peace of mind. What else could you ever want? The Santa Fe checks all the boxes for the price. After comparing it to other SUVs like the Honda Pilot, Kia Sorento, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Toyota Highlander, the choice was clear. My advice: go test drive it and experience it for yourself. I am confident you will come to the same conclusion I have.

2024 Santa Fe all the way
I chose this car as it had the biggest bang for the buck. Very Posh interior with two 12 inch screens next to each other that provide wireless smart phone connectivity and charging. Great safety features including brake assist, lane assist front and rear cameras and warnings. The rear view mirror can activate a rear camera that displays on the mirror with an unobstructed view of traffic. The new exterior design is eye catching with some similarities to the Range Rover for far less money. It drives smoothly with plenty of comfort features. In addition its 277 HP 4cyl turbo engine provides enough power to get on and off highways and rides remarkably quiet. All of this on regular gas. The Calligraphy model has numerous features included I strongly recommend the 2024 Santa Fe

Spur-of-the-Moment Santa Fe
Saw the new body design and it brought me back to my younger days with my first SUV, a 1986 Isuzu Trroper II LS. Tall, wide, and boxy, with great driver's visibility, this Santa Fe is an excellent vehicle for passengers as well as anything you need to haul from the big box stores or Home Depot . The Santa Fe has plenty of power from its 2.5 liter turbo four, and the 8 speed Auto gets you up to speed quickly and smoothly. The ride is comfortable, not harsh, but also not floaty. Material quality is superb, almost as nice as the luxury brands market. Every bit of technology you'd want is built-in, too much to list here, so read the specifications and standard features. UPDATE: It's been 6 months, and about 2000 miles...yeah, I don't drive it a lot. The Santa Fe has been recalled twice for a couple of minor issues, but there have been 2 repair issues that took the vehicle out of service for 3 weeks. First was a bad front radar sensor that took over a week and a few days just to diagnose, and then a few days to repair. The second was a bad radio which took the media screen out of operation and took over a week to replace. Parts availability was a problem. Shifting with the dual clutch auto can be a bit rough at times, and I'm hearing that these transmissions aren't the most reliable. With these issues, I've had to reduce my rating and I'm very apprehensive about future reliability

2024 Santa Fe Limited: Great Quality and Value
I recently purchased a new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. The design is all new--it may take some getting used to, but the quality inside and out seems to be excellent. The 2.5 liter turbo is very peppy; the vehicle handles well and rides nicely. The 5 year warranty is great. If you are in the market for an SUV, you really should check out the 2024 Santa Fe.
2024 Santa Fe --Infotainment not user friendly
The car rides and handles very well. I have no complaints. I was especially surprised to experience the pickup of a 4-cylinder turbo engine. I did not expect such smooth and prompt acceleration to be exhibited by a 4-cylinder engine. My biggest complaint is with the infotainment. I don't think this is a unique issue with the Santa Fe model, but likely with all newer car models--packed with so many options that have proven burdensome to master. The upfront investment in time to learn all the electronic bells and whistles incorporated into the infotainment display becomes an exercise in frustration. I suspect that geeks developed the infotainment without pondering the need for it to be customer-friendly -- meaning, easy to use.

2024 Santa Fe Limited is the Perfect SUV.
I recently purchased the 2024 Santa Fe Limited, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. From the moment I drove it off the lot, I knew I had made the right choice. This SUV is nothing short of spectacular. First, let’s talk about the design. The 2024 Santa Fe Limited is a head-turner with its sleek, modern lines and bold front grille. The redesign has given it a sophisticated yet sporty look that stands out in the best way possible. Everywhere I go, people admire its stylish appearance. Inside, the Santa Fe Limited is pure luxury. The seats are wrapped in premium leather and are both heated and ventilated, which makes every drive comfortable no matter the weather. The cabin is spacious, providing ample room for my family and all our gear. The panoramic sunroof is a favorite feature, flooding the interior with natural light and making the space feel even more open. The technology in this vehicle is top-notch. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is clear and easy to read, and the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is intuitive and responsive. I love how seamlessly it integrates with my phone through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Bose 12-speaker sound system is phenomenal, delivering crystal-clear sound that makes every drive enjoyable. Performance-wise, the 2024 Santa Fe Limited is a dream. The turbocharged engine is powerful and responsive, making acceleration smooth and effortless. The ride is incredibly smooth, and the cabin remains quiet even at higher speeds, which makes for a very pleasant driving experience. I also appreciate the excellent fuel economy for a vehicle of this size and power. Safety is a major priority for me, and Hyundai has not disappointed. The Santa Fe Limited is equipped with advanced safety features like forward collision-avoidance assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, and a surround-view monitor that gives me a complete view of my surroundings. These features give me great peace of mind, especially when driving with my family. One of the most practical aspects of the Santa Fe Limited is its versatility. With 7 seats available and the ability to fold down the third row, I have all the cargo space I need for trips, groceries, or anything else. The hands-free smart liftgate has been incredibly convenient, especially when my hands are full. Hyundai’s warranty is another reason I chose the Santa Fe Limited. The 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is one of the best in the industry, providing excellent peace of mind. In conclusion, my experience with the 2024 Santa Fe Limited has been overwhelmingly positive. It checks all the boxes and then some. If you’re in the market for a new SUV, I highly recommend the Santa Fe Limited. Take it for a test drive—you’ll see exactly what I mean. I’m confident you’ll fall in love with it just like I did.

Happy
Bought one a couple of months ago and I can truly say that this vehicle is and was everything I expected it to be. I live in Kokomo, Indiana and have to drive to the Indianapolis area frequently. I am getting between 32 and 34 miles per gallon (with the AC on). It is roomy, spacious, very comfortable to own. I have owned several cars in the 75 years I have been alive. I would definitely own another SantaFe. I had started out wanting a Palisade; however, it is tight squeeze in a two-car garage with two cars in it. It performs exceptionally well on the open highway. The SEL is the trim for features and functionability.

Terrible software
Do not buy this vehicle unless you want to deal with extremely annoying software issues. The "consider taking a break" is the worst of several. This seriously goes off every ten minutes or so. Sometimes not for hours and then every ten minutes at other times. The "front facing" software is equally irritating. You cannot have your right arm on the opposite side of the wheel or vice versa, making for some real short comings on comfort. The key fobs are a joke as is the two available settings for the seats. They do not hold the settings. I am seriously considering selling the 2024 Santa Fe and going back to Toyota as Hyundai is no help. All they say is "you used to be able to turn those off, but for some reason on the 24's you cannot!" big help... It does ride nice and I like the looks but these software issues are just too much to deal with.

A one year old Santa Hooray
As I've mentioned in previous reviews we've had 2 Lexus GX, a 2003 and 2011. Loved both, put over 350,000 combined over an eight year period. So I decided to purchase a new vehicle. But a new GX was a bit out of our range and the Hyundai warranty is an excellent incentive. In any event One year anniversary 27,000 miles 80% highway No mechanical issues Very peppy 2.5Turbo 22-28 MPH Ride is very quiet 3 rows Seats 7-8 which I've utilized The XRT is their off road edition, a few inches higher road clearance. The squared off rear gate is an excellent feature for hauling large awkward "stuff" Very pleased. The screens are a trip Very legible and tech rich These are becoming very popular in my part of SE Pa. The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT became that choice.
Amazing value
Purchased the XRT model a few weeks ago. Traded in a 2018 Audi Q5. The Santa Fe is super smooth, has more comfortable seats, more cargo capacity, higher ground clearance and uses regular fuel. I don’t need the third row and just leave it folded and covered with a cargo mat. This vehicle has exceeded my expectations. I never got comments about the Q5 but so many people have commented on the looks of the Santa Fe (positively). My only complaint is that I’m starting to see too many of them popping up in my neighborhood! Hyundai has a definite hit here.

Loving the ride
I love my Santa Fe. It is just the right size. Not to big not to little. It is a hybrid model so the mpg is impressive. My model is FWD so the turning radius is awesome. Can zip into tight spots with ease. A very comfortable ride. On windy days there is some cabin noise. But it does not take away from the enjoyment of the ride.

Big time buyers remorse.
The technology is distracting and is like driving with your mom. The adaptive cruise control puts you about a 1/4 miles behind the car on front of you on the closest setting. The or camera will chirp at you if you look away for about 3 seconds which is obnoxious and infuriating. The 2.4 turbo is AWFUL!!!! The turbo lag is the worst I’ve ever felt in a car ever and the mileage isn’t that great for how much power you give up. It has less tech than the old palisade with less room. I regret buying this car more than any other car I’ve ever purchased. They really dropped the ball with the tech.

Poorly designed and tested Infotainment system
Mechanically my Santa Fe XRT is fine. So far no problems or complaints. The Infotainment, HVAC and other systems are a failure. - When the sun shines on the controls for AC, heat, etc they are unreadable -The radio media selected like Sirius, AM, Favorites, etc will change on it's own while driving - On one of the info screens the Nav background is unreadable black and cannot be changed - The date and time is missing or grayed out on most screens - When the car is turned off the entire electrical system turns off - no delay until a door is opened - The front wipers are hidden beneath the hood - not sure how to change wiper blades - You cannot lock the doors when exiting the car by pressing the lock button on the drivers door There are other quirks but these are every day issues. I suggest you wait for updated Santa Fe models or look at other makes

Stellar till it snowed.
SEL fwd hybrid. In mild weather, it’s nothing to not average 45 mpg after 3-4 hours of continual city driving… but beware of driving in deep unplowed streets. I did forget to turn the anti slip off, that might of helped, but the one front powering wheel mentioned to me to go back home as quickly as possible. Seats lack proper cushioning, and if you use cruise in the city, learn to quickly turn it off for it highly sensitive. But, there are so many plus’s, a 4-5 vehicle ain’t bad.

I love this suv.
This car is fantastic! I bought it about six months ago and it’s been amazing so far. The comfort is great, and the technology is top-notch. The sound system is a bit of a letdown, though. It’s not the best (for being BOSE) because they pack the speakers on the front and they just sound loud, not harmonious. The semi-autonomous driving is great for the price, and the air conditioning, heating, and cooling are top-notch. For being a small SUV, the space is surprisingly great. We packed two weeks’ worth of luggage, three adults, and we brought back more stuff (souvenirs) and it fit perfectly. Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase. It’s fun, comfortable, and packed with tech. I highly recommend it!

Surprised by what’s missing
I traded my 2020 GMC Acadia for the 2024 Calligraphy. What I lost-can’t unlock car from any door handle, no retained accessory power so car has to be on to use the garage door opener, can’t shut the tailgate hands free, no sunglasses holder, no lights stay on to indicate the car has been successfully remote started, getting about 2mpg less on combined MPG. While the tech on this car is amazing and I love the look I feel like my driving experience is less refined. The double clutch transmission is a little clunky and you’ll feel a shudder fairly regularly between the first and second gear.

Self driving is scary. Camera facing driver is interfering with my steering. Like my last santa fe I cannot see the blind warning light in the outside mirrors, too dim. Interior color selection is white or black even if they claim otherwise. As a whole I like it better than my 2021 santa fe but back tailgate is really ugly.

Great Features Good Price
Santa Fe offer's an outstanding list of features at a very competitive price. Large opening accommodates working dog crate easily (and she loves the AC air vent in the rear on really hot days)

I loved the test drive and was close to purchasing a 2024, but I got cold feet after reading about transmission issues.

Real world mileage is not true. 26 mpg in the cold
Bought this to get range. In the winter, no great range. 26 mpg. Summer is around 31.5. I have to pay extra in OHIO for the plates because its hybrid. My diesel jag get 46 mpg and no extra. I wish I would have avoided it. Interior leather is not quality. Overall its an OK 48K car..... It should be more like 35K.
