2025 Hyundai Palisade Consumer Reviews
Pricing
2024 Palisade Limited, 2000 mile review.
I rely heavily on reviews so I wanted to leave one so others could possibly benefit from mine. I drove several SUV's and did probably 15-20 hours of research online over a month or so and settled on the Palisade Limited after considering , Kia Telluride , Jeep Grand Cherokee , Honda Pilot , VW Atlas and Mazda CX90. I think the Palisade has them all beat Kia - felt less sophisticated in the handling , and I think the exterior is less attractive, confusing number of trim levels... less willing to negotiate at 2 local Kia dealerships. I got 4.9% financing through Hyundai. Jeep - is overpriced, didn't drive one . To get all the safety features you need to buy a pricey model. I don't trust the reliability since my wife had a Wrangler that had problems at 60k. The Cherokee's I've read good things about so maybe reliability is good. But the price tag is a shocker. Honda Pilot, I liked it, drove 2 of them, but unimpressive small display and just generally nothing to wow me. Felt behind in technology although it also had a HUD. Comparable was 2k more. VW Atlas, I really liked the Atlas , felt impressive with good technology but did not want the 2.0L Turbo which is the only option. I also considered the 2024 redesigned Santa Fe but it was a bit early to get the color and trim level I wanted. I drove an SEL and it was very nice. The larger (than the VW's 2.0T) 2.4L 4 cyl seem strong and it rode very quiet. I drove a CX-90, just didn't like it. You sit lower and it felt more truck like in the handling than I expected. Drove it on a bumpy road and secondary road, not on the highway. I now have 2000 miles on the Palisade. It is roomy and the seats are very comfortable . The handling is very smooth, its so quiet on the highway, quieter than the 2018 Toyota Highlander I traded in. It's smooth and fast. I like technology, AEB, (It will automatically emergency steer as well. I was changing lines on the highway and another vehicle entered my path. It was somewhat intentional on my part as I was experimenting at the time) I've only seen this activate "Emergency Steering" once. It can almost drive itself on the highway with the Steering Assist and Cruise control on. Cruise controls are simple, one touch on and its set to current speed. Keep a light touch on the wheel and it will navigate the rest, steering and speed. Having said that, I prefer my own steering which is smoother. The auto steering tends to "have a shorter focus" so its a little like bouncing off the lane markers. This could use some improvement, but way better than what the Highlander had and probably compares well to others. The problem with all these feature is that you cant get to know them in a test drive. Overall I am very pleased. Its nice to use cruise on long drive and take your feet off the pedals and move around a bit. The Blind Spot View is very worthy of mention, no other manufacturers have this that I am aware of. None of the competitors in this class , only Hyundai . This gives a camera view of your blind spot, great for merging into a lane because you can keep your focus on the dash, Heads Up Display and road ahead, have a better view without turning your head. Why can't Ford do something like this? I used to buy only US brands, not anymore. My 2018 Highlander had 120 when I traded it in, and not one single repair outside of expected maintenance. Get that from a Ford, good luck. I very much enjoy the comfortable ride in the Palisade. It averages MPG as advertised. I get better than 24 on the highway, and average 22 so far. The Hyundai Blue Link app is excellent!! You can lock/unlock, get location, status , even snap a pic of the surroundings when the car is parked. The app does much more, and the digital key is awesome you can drive this vehicle with your phone, text someone a key and they can too. Apple Car play is great, you do need to connect with a cable (slight bummer) it won't work wirelessly/blue tooth. Music , phone all work on blue tooth just not Apple Play due to some compatibility thing they have not yet reworked in the Palisade. I think it's fixed in the new Santa Fe. I like the strong and efficient V6. Hopefully this vehicle will compare to the Toyota reliability I had in my Highlander. I'll review again when I have more miles.

Excellent comfortable drive
I sold my 2020 BMW M340i and bought a black 2024 Calligraphy Night Edition. You may think: “you did what?” Well, it was hard to let my beamer go, but I don’t regret my decision at all. The Palisade is amazing! It has an incredible comfortable and smooth drive. I really like this non-turbo less complex engine with expected high reliability at a much much much lower maintenance cost. Besides, the Calligraphy is full of features my beamer didn’t have. The cherry on top for me is the looks of the Night Edition! It does have a presence.

Very Good Vehicle
We purchased a 2021 Calligraphy FWD in 1/21. My wife had been driving Suburbans and we tried a sedan when the kids were gone. She wanted something higher up for visibility and the Palisade is where we ended up. The vehicle was priced $1k under MSRP, but the dealership had installed some of the standard stuff (window tint, wheel locks, PPF on door edges, etc.) for roughly $1k, so we ended up paying MSRP, but we got some stuff. Hyundai was running a 1.9% interest rate, so we took advantage of that. We currently have about 47k miles on it. We have had no failures, electronic or mechanical. We did have a recall early on for a rattle in the rear suspension. That was fixed with no drama and about half a day out of service. We did not install the hitch or trailer wiring package. The interior is a nice place to be. We almost always get comments from friends and acquaintances who have not been in it before. I'm 6'4" and 220 lbs, my wife is 5'2". The seats are comfortable for both of us. We have had adults in the second row for cross-country trips and kids in the third row. No one complained. They really liked the second-row pull-up window shades in the summer. It gets hot in Texas and the a/c keeps the inside cool for everyone. The heated steering wheel is something I had not had before and I like it. It goes from cold to pretty darn warm fairly quickly. The seats are a little difficult to clean because of the perforations, but that's life with ventilated leather seats. Performance is better than I expected. The engine is smooth and quiet, and as lively as a non-turbo V6 could be expected to be in a vehicle this size. The transmission is very smooth and predictable. Part throttle shifts are imperceptible and full throttle shifts are quick and smooth enough. I have no fear of passing on the two lane. Being able to get full horsepower using regular gasoline is a nice bonus. The push button shifter takes a little time to get used to. The auto-stop "feature" can be disabled by a push of a button. You have to push it each time you start the vehicle, but it's part of my routine now and my hand is over that direction anyway to select a gear. Gas mileage is better than what I expected as well. We live in the suburbs, so most of the time an errand involves at least some highway mileage. Our average is about 23 - 24 mpg. Highway mileage is usually about 26 mgp, but that's cruising at about 80. We took a trip east last year where speed limits are somewhat lower. Cruising at about 73 - 74 we had two tanks of gas, that were 100% highway driving, that were over 31 mpg, but that's unusual. Ride and drive are pretty good. It's not a sports car. It handles like a largish, mid-sized SUV. The steering is predictable, not too heavy, not too light. The suspension is not as good at soaking up sharp impact bumps as I would like. Too much thump is transmitted to the cabin, particularly from the rear suspension. The lane keeping system has a tendency to try to follow expansion joints in the concrete and heavy black tire marks. It has even tried to follow a strong shadow cast on light colored concrete. I understand other systems have similar issues to one degree or another. The adaptive cruise control will sometimes pick up a vehicle that has just entered the exit lane and slowed down and hit the brakes. That is annoying for the driver and surprising for passengers. I've found that setting the system to maximum sensitivity does help to smooth out the speed changes. In heavy traffic on the interstate, for me, it's more trouble than it's worth. The vehicle also flashes lights and blares warning chimes to alert me that I'm about to crash much more often than I actually do. The lane change warnings seem to work well. There are instances where they get it wrong (multiple lanes turning, etc.), but within reasonable limits the system works well. Our OEM tires lasted about 44k miles. We have not had to service the brakes yet. No signs of any issues with the battery. Everything works as expected. All in all, we are happy with our purchase. The comfort, build quality, reliability and durability have been excellent. The next time around we may look at Genesis.

Hyundai has come a long way
I remember learning how to drive stick shift around 1990 and a Hyundai. It was a piece of crap! Fast forward to 2021 and I needed to rent an SUV that would fit the whole family to drive from New York to South Carolina. I ended up renting a Hyundai palisade. I was so reluctant because I always thought they were garbage, but I was so pleasantly surprised I fell in love with it and finally bought a new one yesterday. The calligraphy is out of this world. The tech and luxury in it is just unbelievable. The new design makes the car look very stately. It is incredibly comfortable to sit in, to drive, and everything is adjustable to your liking. It’s a fantastic family suv. No, it is not sport tuned like a BMW, or Acura, nor does it have that type of engine, but at this price point? It is so worth it. Heated seats, ventilated seats in the first and second row, third row, heated seats, charging stations , excellent Soundsystem, internal WiFi hotspot, Napa leather 360 degree parking views, your key fob makes the car come out of a tight spot all by itself, The back lift senses when you’re standing there with packages and automatically opens for you. The list goes on and on! And when you put it in sport mode, the driver seat actually changes position to accommodate the “rush.” And yes - the car is peppier in sport mode. It definitely looks and feels much more expensive than it is. I’m not saying it’s cheap because the Calligraphy is the top of the line trim - but you’d seriously spend so much more money to get most of these features in a more expensive car. It’s only been a couple of days so I can’t really comment on reliability, but I can truly say since the early 90s, Hyundai has come long way.

I never thought!
I never thought I would buy a Hyundai vehicle, but I love it. I'm afraid I have to disagree with Edmonds's assessment or the Palisade's handling. In addition, this vehicle is ideal for long-distance driving, and the driver assistance is excellent. Mileage could use improvement, but overall, purchasing this vehicle was money well spent.

Love everything except the seats!
Immediately after we got the car we took a 4 hour trip that we usually do non-stop. But this time we had to stop to give our "butts" a break. around town there is no issue, but when we are on the road for over 3 hours it's impossible for the driver or the passenger to stay remain seated the entire time. I have the leather seats with massage function and heating and cooling. the massage function is a pleasure and the unlimited seat options make it very comfortable normally, but there is not enough padding on the bottom of the seat. I have been making that 4 hour trip for 204nyears in various SUVs and never had to stop. I am very pleased with the car otherwise and guess we'll just plan on making a stop on that and other trips over 3 hours. I'm not looking forward to my 10 hour trip to Florida this winter!

New Hot Mom Car
All the safety features a mom will love. I have 5 children and I'm at peace with the features that come with my new car no need to add any. As a mother nothing matters more. The side cameras, 360 cameras, and the auto collision stopping. In the front and rear. Lane assist, lane control, quiet noise, cooling seat in the middle row, and one touch button to let down the middle row. Also has shade screens built into the windows, rear ac locks, rear mirror for back seats built in to the top system, the intercom for the back rows as well. Honestly I could go on and on but it is a great vehicle with AMAZING features. Did I say built in wifi. Yes so the kids can remain entertained while we drive for long trips. Definitely a great family car.

Vibration/wobble 2024 Palisade
We bought our 2024 Palisade Limited 10-2023. We didn't test drive it since a new car shouldn't have issues. From day one, it's had a strange wobble/vibration. The dealer, and Hyundai corporate keep saying it's either a normal attribute of the car, or bad tires from the factory. They've flatly refused to replace the tires, claiming that tires aren't covered under warrantee, even if they were bad from day one. There's quite a bit of feedback on the web about vibration problems, but Hyundai refuses to acknowledge it. I'm extremely disappointed in the way I've been treated by the dealer, and by Hyundai corporate. I have another Hyundai which I love, but after the Palisade I won't buy another Hyundai

Great Vehicle but recent updates are not ideal
I had a 2020 Palisade and just purchased a 2024 Palisade. The vehicle is still the best value for the money you pay, but they have made a few updates to the vehicle that are not ideal. I would still give this car a 4.8 our of 5, but here are the less than ideal updates: 1. The head rest for the front seats. For whatever reason, they are pushed far forward and cause neck pain on long drives. This is an change from the 2020 version. These head rests are not adjustable, unlike some older versions of the Santa Fe that allow the head rest to move forward and back. It is not properly ergonomically designed. The seat forces your shoulder back but then pushes your head forward in an awkward position. It is so bad that I tried to swap head rests with the 2nd row (which doesn't have this design flaw), but they do not fit / swap. I find I do get neck pain on any drive over 2 hour. 2. The adaptive cruise control. In the 2020 model the cruise control was great. In the 2024 model, if you are on an open highway, the adaptive cruise control occasionally views medians as something you may "hit" so it drastically drops your speed as you enter a slight turn that has a median. This drop in speed is supposedly a safety feature, but what happens is that drop in speed is so dramatic that a car following you almost hits you because, for no reason, your car rapidly drops about 10 mph as you enter a corner, causing the car behind you to reduce their speed rapidly. Not sure why this changed from the 2020 model as it actually fails to provide safety because cars behind you gets impacted by your drop in speed and needs to adjust their speed. I find I can not use the cruise control on the 2024 model as much as I used it on the 2020 model because the "safety" features view too many regular road fixtures as hazards (almost like it is trying to be too "smart"). 3. The speed camera and red light camera alerts. Initially, this was a nice feature, especially in a town your are visiting. However, I drive a highway everyday that has 4 of these cameras. I get the warnings everyday about cameras I know are there. There is no way to turn this feature off. That being said, these are somewhat minor issues. The vehicle is great and has many top end features at a very reasonable price. Love the vehicle.

Luxury Safety Style and Value
I got my 2024 Palisade Limited and previously had 7 ACURA MDX and 3 LEXUS RX . The Palisade is a far better car , with great features that would cost much more in my previous vehicles , Great warranty and service from the dealearship
Piece of JUNK
Rattles, clunk in the rear, rattle in the dash, rattle in door, sometimes warning buzzer says someone or something is behind the vehicle but there’s nothing there. Last week the engine warning light came on 30 miles into a 240 mile trip car had transmission issues and engine kept loosing power. This vehicle has 10,600 miles on it I bought it 9 months ago nd it’s been in the Hyundai dealer 9 times.
If you hear noise check cooling seats option
When test driving, I heard air noise from rear of car. I figured out it was due to seat cooling option was turned on and no one was in the seats. I turned the seats cooling option off and it was very quiet.

Bad driver's seat off the lot
Bought a 2024 Palisade limited in late December 2023. Got it home and noticed that the driver's seat did not automatically extend upon exit, and that it would go forward, but did not want to extend backwards. Took it back to dealership the next day. Service ordered a new switch for the seat. Finally had appointment today (Jan 29 - over 4 weeks later). Dealer installed new switch, seat still not working, now they inform me that they may have to remove the seat on my brand new 50,000 vehicle and will call me when they figure out what is wrong. Totally unacceptable on a brand new vehicle. At least they gave me a loaner.

BEWARE!!!
BE WARNED!! We just bought a 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night edition, over $60k, brand new. After 4000 miles and just over 6 months we have a check engine light on. Turns out for the last ten + years many if not all car manufacturers have been using a protein-based wire coating that is like CANDY to rodents of all kinds. Checked under the hood and found a large rat munching away at the wires and totally destroyed 4 different harnesses. Repaired at Hyundai, over $5000 to replace damaged components. Saw another Palisade arrive in service for the exact same thing while we were there for. The service department just laughed and said, "Yah that is a problem", and just blew it off. During our purchase of this vehicle, no one even mentioned this glaring problem with their cars (yup, all Hyundai cars) and potential problems that may occur. It seems there is a class action lawsuit in progress about this very issue. Lived at the same place for over 40 years and NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM.
Nice suv
It drives smooth and very quiet I definitely recommend this car
Invasive safety features, noisy ride
So far, reliable for 13k miles, but the noise inside the cabin and the constant auto-breaking even when going under 5mph is too much. If you drop someone off, you have to turn the car off to reset the seats, otherwise the car will NOT stop dinging at you to have the (non-existent) passenger put their seatbelt on. No idea how this is the best SUV in America. It's being traded off. Thin steel. Cabin noise. Offensive safety features.

Best overall vehicle out of 12 differe test rides
The Hyundai palisade limited edition is what we ended up choosing. We base this on testing multiple SUVs from mid-size to third row , gradually eliminate them till we got to the final three. We took our time and did this over a one month period. We took in consideration price, warranty, reliability and reviews from Edmund cars.com. We tried both domestic and foreign cars. When looking at the prices and warranty included, other vehicles seem to be 5 to $12,000 more when including a $100,000 mile warranty. We also wanted a vehicle that would tow at least 3500 lbs. About the car, The ride is quiet and very comfortable. the information center is easy to access and simple. one of the things that most impressed us was the safety features that were included in it. The second roll captain seats are just like the front seats they can move forward and backwards up and down and recline. The back roll climate control is also nice. one feature that stuck out was the ability to use your car mike to talk to people in the backseat over the speakers. Grandkids sometimes claim they can't hear LOL. the power liftgate and back is nice because it has a no touch walk-up feature. with the third row seats up the space is adequate but with them down it's very good and you could easily pack for a nice camping trip. Mileage is a little better than it stated. Most of the other vehicles had four cylinders with turbos the palisade has a V6 engine which gets equal to or better mileage as the rest of the vehicles we looked at. Being naturally aspirated the the engine takes off a little slower but makes up for it at the higher ends. It is also very quiet. The vehicle has all-wheel drive and several driving options. We've gotten as high as 31 mpg on the highway usually 28 mpg and an average of about 24. The overall interior design and comfort is wonderful. Hyundai gave you the conveniences you need. We only put on about 2,000 MIles so far so I cannot testify on reliability of the vehicle other than what I know From research. looking at older vehicles that seem to hold their value well and finding a used one under 3 years old isn't easy. The areas I feel that Hyundai needs improvement. the space in the car doors is small and most vehicles have a spot for a drink in the car door. Another one is the app that connects your car to your phone. From what we can see if your car alarm goes off you will not know unless you walk up to your vehicle and then the lights will blink a few times. the alarm is pretty sensitive also. It would be nice to know if the vehicle alarm was triggered and even the location like some of the other vehicles we have. With the key fobs in the new vehicles, any previous theft problems appear to be fixed as it was one of our concerns. But Hyundai should take it a step further by including it on the app. We feel that they could offer a better selection of colors like some of them in their Santa Fe XRT line. We even considered the Xrt but it only had one trim option. If it had amore trims availible option . In the long run the palisade just was the best choice!

Undetermined with less than 2K miles
Wife got a Palisade Caligraphy and it currently has approx 1800 miles. Car is garage kept and hasn’t been driven for 2 weeks with winter precip. Weather got better so wife took car out. While she was out, multiple car sensors went off (change lane, rear cross traffic, side monitor, lane assist). No warnings on Bluelink and shows car in good health. Scheduled to go to dealer. Disappointing considering this is a new car.
Simply Spectacular
If you are currently in the market for a midsize 3-row SUV, two things have probably become apparent. First, the Hyundai Palisade and its handsome sibling, the Kia Telluride, seem to be well on top of almost every single ranking list in the automotive press. Secondly, it seems like you can scarcely drive two minutes these days without encountering another Palisade or Telluride on the road. Once you have had the opportunity to test drive and/or purchase one, the reasons for these two things quickly become apparent. Dollar for dollar, it is hard to imagine beating these vehicles. I recently purchased the Palisade SEL Premium, and it has been simply spectacular. This is my first Hyundai, and I have to admit I approached the purchase with a sense of caution. We are typically a Subaru or Toyota family. But the Subaru Ascent, despite having some great qualities, just reminds me too much of my 2007 Subaru Tribeca. As for the Toyota Highlander, I was appalled when I read the Consumer Reviews on Edmunds. (Toyota, what the heck is going on?) As for all the others, for various reasons, nothing particularly impressed me. For me, the true game changer is the Palisade with the SEL Premium trim. Please take a hard look at it before buying any other SUV. It is chock-full of features you would normally find in a luxury SUV (heating steering wheel, heated/ventilated seats in the front and second rows, captain’s chairs, front parking sensors, moonroof, memory seats, AWD, and I’m probably forgetting some things). The tech is simply out of this world. If you are interested in a de facto luxury SUV and want to get it out the door for less than $50K, then this is the vehicle for you. When you throw in the 5 year/10 year warranties and the 3 years of free maintenance, not to mention the free Hyundai Bluelink…well. I for one am impressed. As you scour the internet, you will notice that the Palisade/Telluride comparison has grown into a bit of a cottage industry, and the sales figures would imply Telluride has the edge. Many people find the Telluride to be slightly more attractive, and it has nicer colors. But based on my experience, the Telluride can’t offer the same features as the Palisade SEL Premium, unless you really go with an upscale, expensive trim. (A base Telluride SX is almost impossible to find). Additionally, the little storage hideaway under the shifting buttons seems like a trivial thing (Palisade has it, Telluride does not) but it really is a great thing to have. All in all, after approximately three weeks, I can scarcely find anything to complain about. (The vehicle doesn’t seem to have a weather radar interface on the nav, but not a big deal). My biggest concern, however, is obvious: Will this amazing vehicle hold up? With so many bells and whistles, how will this vehicle be performing six years from now? How about ten? Will the synthetic leather hold up as well as the real thing? Will the Palisade offer the same unbelievable reliability my family has experienced with our Toyota Siennas? Only time will tell. As for the present, if you are shopping for a three-row midsize SUV, and you are working within a budget, I don’t know how the Palisade SEL Premium can be beaten.

Wonderful SUV
Sold my 2017 Kia Sorento V6 & purchased the Palisade. This is of great quality and craftmanship. Love the V6, plenty of power and real smooth, plus it comes with a 10 year powertrain warranty. 7 occupant capacity and very tech laden. Really like the 12 inch screen and push button gear select. Currently have 3400 miles with no issues.

Luxury for less
Love the ride, feel when driving, and the look. Heads up display, massaging driver’s seat, and power assisted steering are so nice that they will be required options in future cars purchases.
Very cheaply made
When we purchased the Palisade we couldn't have been happier, then after about 10,000 miles it started falling apart. For starters the hood is to big for the opening, then at about 15,000 miles the entire rear suspension went out. Took it to the dealership and was told a service bulletin was issued for the struts and strut mounts going out, then Hyundai retracted the bulletin because they couldn't get the parts (was told this by the service manager). I was then advised the car was ok to drive even though the rear struts were no good, big question mark there. So, after 3 months of waiting I was finally able to get it fixed. The interior is made of very cheap plastic and poorly assembled there is always a new rattle somewhere inside the cabin.

Hyundai advertises the Palisade’s towing ability. Only after market tow receivers are possible, nothing from factory. I will just buy another Expedition (or perhaps Explorer) where everything is factory and less expensive. Tow bars only 10” above pavement areabsurd.

Pain in Arse
I 74 and rode many vehicles. Had 1st lane keep etc experience early this yr in 23 santa Fe and like. Blue Cruise tried to kill me. 25 Santa Fe hybrid rode like skate so got Palisade. 600 miles seat killing me. Absolute worst seats ever. Tender spots on thighs and butt. Like riding on bag of rocks. And leather is stiff and hard. Lots of nice to vehicle but I can't stand the ride. There are days I can hardly sit in my favorite chair after a drive. Shopping for different after one payment.

Best car I’ve ever owned!
And I’ve owned BMWs and Mercedes! For the price, you cannot believe all that you get with a Palisade! I bought my 2025 Palisade Calligraphy FWD and I honestly can say I could not love it more! What a great ride, quiet, technology beyond anything I’ve ever experienced and OH, the massaging driver seat! All the room, comfort and luxury for an unbelievable price!

So happy
I’ve driven it 196 miles and I love it. I have much to learn about the electronics but it’s coming. Anthony was great to work with. Justin was very understanding and I could not have had two better guys helping me out with my purchase.

Smooth as butter
2025, awd, limited Palisade, has all the bells and whistles, smooth, comfy ride, soundproof interior excellent, lots of get up and go power, enjoying the serene feeling of driving and having lots of leg room. Gas mileage not bad for a v6 engine. U go Sheehy Waldorf, Md.

Pricey
Very nice SVU, nice to drive but hard to enter, comfortable once inside but pricey for a used vehicle.
Special vehicle
To early to give a detailed opinion about this vehicle. I just got not even a 100 miles on it. So far it’s been pretty good.

Palisade Calligraphy Wows
The 2025 Palisade Calligraphy delivers. Adjustable interior ambient lighting, suede pillars and headliner, massage driver seat, ability to move the care forward/backward with key fob if someone parks too close, HUD and controls are easily adjustable, roomy and comfortable, adjustable driver knee supports, multi-mode such as Sport (where its very snappy), eco, etc. Does it all and a lot cheaper than other options. Save the money and still get all the feature you would want! For a few thousand dollars more than other models - if you can, I highly recommend going with Calligraphy version before they raise base price.
