PURE VALUE

WOW... A lot of car for little money. Lots of Power, no lag, transmission shifts at the right moment when power rolled on ( no lag). The car goes where its pointed with do under or over steering that I could tell, very quick to respond. Fit and finish is very good. Price...ahhh the bast for last, My GT autos only options were floor mats and locking lugs...price $28122.17 which included Tax, Tag Title, that $599 dealer fee, optional 100,000 mile 5 year bumper to bumper option (std is 5 year 60,000). Try to fine another sport's coupe for that price. A good value that a blast to drive.

This car is so fun to drive. I love the way it looks and handles. The comfort is amazing and the stereo and Bluetooth connection to my iphone is incredible. It is beautiful to look at and has the problem to roll with the big boys.

Creaky and unstable

I've had this vehicle for a year. The thing has more creaks and protests from its interior than my mother-in-Law does about her aging frame. The handling on pristine pavement is fine. However, if the road surface gets the least bit uneven/rough the suspension simply becomes unpredictable. I've learned to modify my driving style when confronted with such conditions. Not the hallmark of a true GT/Sports car. At this point in time I'm glad that I leased as this vehicle. So, build quality and handling are things that Hyundai needs to consider if they want to be something other than a company that produces affordable cars that merely satisfy as opposed to excite and generate loyalty.

So I am a recent college graduate and I wanted something that would be fun to drive. I first tested a 2.0Turbo automatic and a 3.8L V6 manual... initially the clutch was a bit rough to get use to but after two test drives I was convinced. The V6 is very powerful for the price and just everything about the car feels like your not paying enough. The base V6 still has the ipod connections and interface, blue tooth, black leather, auto headlights and climate control. Don't think that you need the upgraded sound the base sound is still great I was very impressed. Do yourself a favor and get the manual V6 feels and sounds like a muscle car.

After reading several articles on the Genesis I was offered a test drive by a local dealer marketing event in a shopping mall. I love the way it hugs the road, love the roomy interior, great high tech gadgets and looks expensive, after driving BMW for the last 8 years I traded my 328i for my first Hyundia coupe. Hyundai keep up the good work.

Awesome potential. Motor clearly underrated. Wants to breathe so much harder but intake and turbo back constrict this a lot. Tuner's car. Also very responsive stock, but also very civilized. Suspension perfect for daily conditions. Indoor surprising, love lighting at night! Outdoor will get you praises. Cat-back piping section is crimped for some reason..again doesn't breathe quite well. Guarantee's interesting as few things can and probably will go down between 3rd and 5th year of usage..not to overlook. Insurance go easy on Hyundai brand so that's good too. Watch out winter tire cost.

Have owned my Genesis Coupe for more than 1 year and still get stares from other drivers! This beauty is really FUN to drive! Had a mechanical issue with the Electronic Stability Control light but dealer provided a free loaner and took care of the problem. I can't help looking back at my Genesis Coupe every time I walk away from it! For as my neighbor said: "When they designed the Genesis Coup[e they sure got it RIGHT!" Never would have considered buying a 300+ horsepower car until I saw it up close and in person. I'm not a lead-foot, and have experienced a consistent 27 miles per gallon (even though it's an automatic)! An amazing car for an amazingly low price! Thanks, Hyundai!

I've had my Genesis Coupe GT for only a week now but all I can say is "Wow, what a car!" After test driving a Camaro and then laughing at the salesman when he told me of the $3,ooo minimum mark up above sticker, I tried my luck on a Pontiac G8. Nothing doing there either. So I went across the highway to the Hyundai dealership to test drive the Genesis Coupe, and boy am I glad I did! The Gen Coupe handles amazingly on all types of roads. I've already driven it on the interstate, local roads and hilly, winding roads as well. Power is abundant, and the transmission shifts smoothly. The suspension and cornering are sports car tight and it hugs the road like it is bonded to the pavement.

My 1st Hyundai. Previous car was a 2007 VW GTI (owned for 3 years). Reliability Mechanical issues: None to date. Electrical issues: Sterno once slow to respond (Winters day 12 deg F). No problems since. Trim issues: None to date Performance Engine: strong, very smooth and quiet. Try to stay in Auto mode now as quite easy to chug along at 65 mph in 4th gear without noticing. Gearbox: Smooth, fast response. Suspension: Planted but can sometimes feel as though your tires need inflating slightly (when they don't). Overall Impression: This is an excellent car & fun to drive. Knocks the spots off the GTI I owned and that car usually receives 5 top ratings in most magazines.

I had bought 3 previous Hyundai models for members of my family and none of them have disappointed me yet. But when Hyundai went into the sports car market I wasn't quite sure what to expect - the Genesis Coupe, like the others didn't disappoint, it is clearly the best yet. I have owned other sports cars, BMW, Mercedes, and a Camaro and the Genesis Coupe outperforms them all in overall performance. Love the exterior and interior designs, everyone who has checked it out has been impressed. The interior is plush but sporty with a cockpit feel to it, the controls are easy to use, and the technology of bluetooth, XM radio, and Ipod connections add to the exceptional performance of the engine

After previously owning 2 mustangs, I am a believer, this auto can do it all. The 4 with the turbo can get up and go, never thought I would own another Hyundai, but this car is tight, quality interior accessories, quality in all aspects. If you can purchase this vehicle, you will be surprised, better yet, just take one out for a test drive, apply the throttle, hello.

Love it! It's not perfect, BUT great torque and pick-up. Accelerates very quickly. With respect to driving experience, the only thing I've noticed is that it can sometimes be a little slow to respond when coming out of a dead stop. It's like it takes an extra second or two before it realizes it needs to go and once that happens the car moves very quickly. Wish it were a little more responsive. Looks great, VERY sexy. I've gotten compliments from co-workers and friends! (very cynical people)

i absolutely love the styling of the vehicle that is why i bought it. i have received quite a few raving compliments on it already. gas mileage is 29 on highway and about 20 in town which averages to about 24 when driving both. it definitely feels like a sports car. my only regret is that i did not buy the top of the line. money was tight and i didn't feel justified spending too much (i bought the 2.0 premium, but i really, really wish i had spent more to get the bigger engine, the fog lights, side mirror lights, etc. i was able to have a spoiler added to the premium package by the dealer and the spoiler really makes the car look great. nothing else out their compares!

If this is how Hyundai enters the sports car market I can hardly wait to see the refined product a few years from now. Handling is excellent. Power& low end torque are good. Exterior styling is luscious; far better than the vanilla g37,370z, mustang and the clunky camaro. Interior styling is pleasing and the seats are way comfortable without sacrificing support. Forward visibility is excellent. Rear window visibility not so hot; proper mirror adjustment compensates nicely. Whether driving in town, on the interstate, or backroad twisties this car behaves admirably. Steering is responsive and provides good road feel. Rear end feels hooked up and predictable when pushed to this car's limits. Great car!

Traded my BMW 328 daily drive. The genesis coupe is really fun to drive. Seats are luxurious and comfortable. Handles great on all the turns and the catback has a great sound with the 6 speed auto climbs the gears nicely. My weekend car is C6 corvette but both equally fun to drive. OK I took off the huydai fron grill and replaced it with the chrome aftermaket grill for looks.

Finally picked up my Gen Coupe and it's a blast to drive! I've always wanted a rear drive coupe and have to say I'm most satisfied. Got mine for $31,500 and is the best money I've ever spent. Too much fun. Super smooth shifter, love the limited-slip diff, the Brembos are fantastic! You must get the track version if you get one! Why not spend a few more bucks and really deck it out. The car is so incredibly solid feeling. A friend of mine has a 350z and it already looks out dated. The Z is definitely a fun ride, but not for the price and the difference in technology compared to the Gen Coupe. Did anyone hear Hyundai spent around $700 mil and 100 engineers developing this platform?

The Start of Something Great

I think it's safe to say I found the car of my dreams, although there are a few things about the car that aren't perfect. Lets start with the power of this car: it's an absolute beast when you push it around. This is one massive V6 that even trumps the brand new Camaro's and competes with cars that cost twice as much and it uses regular fuel to power it yet is smooth, comfortable and reasonably quiet when cruising on a freeway. The styling gets looks from everyone around it and many people who owns G37s and 335is are astonished at the flowing H logo that is attached to it. If you are looking for a sports car that doesn't skimp on features for less than $30k, do NOT count this car out.

I have had my car about three months. I had to take in shop for bluetooth microphone to be replaced. Now I have sputtering, dying, and one time the radio wouldn't even turn on. I love driving it. I maybe get 20 mpg in town. the handling is great, I customized mine and get lots of looks but notoriety is wearing off more with each problem.

I purchased the 3.8 Genesis Coupe on 9/19/09 and have enjoyed every minute behind the wheel. The acceleration is excellent as is the ride - very smooth. I get 29 mpg on the highway and 25 in city driving. Once I adjusted the seat to my liking, everything is fine. My only complaint is the console between the seats - it continuously pops up! It's annoying but until I take the car in for servicing I've learned to live with the problem. Taking curves at high speed is nothing but fun. I've never had a vehicle with such power and this car is what I've been looking for. I've received thumbs up from the police as well as average drivers who can't believe it's a Hyundai.

This is a great car and if you know what you are doing I have gotten as high as 35mpg on the expressway. There are some flaws with the trans, had mine replaced once with no questions asked. Car runs and handles great never a problem with getting me where I need to go. I am from Chicago so weather with the track pack. wheels is an issue. You will need winter wheels. I have over 25k miles on mine and is stil a blast. Many road trips and the comfort and ride is great. Always get a lot of attention in this car, thumbs up or questions at the gas station. Once they get this shifter figured out down the road I would give this a full 10/10.

Hands down, an awesome vehicle at a great price. The genesis coupe V6 Track has plenty of power and stylish looks. Heads are always turning when I pull up to a stop light. So far, I have not been disappointed with the vehicle. It performs as well as it sounds when I punch the accelerator. I am the proud owner of the first Genesis Coupe in Montgomery, and can honestly say it's my all-time favorite car for many reasons. I wasn't even shopping for a car for myself, but was asked to sit in the new coupe at the dealer. When I did, I was absolutely impressed by the total interior environment and had to drive it. A mile later I had to own it, and eight months later have been completely happy with its nimble handling, its impressive acceleration at any speed, and its brilliant automatic transmission that knows exactly what gear I want it to be in at all times! Great around town and on road trips! Oh, did I mention its ability to turn heads? I love it!

Have only owned for a week, but what a great week. This is definitely a sexy looking Hyundai. The styling reminds me of the Porshe 944. The sheet metal Z-styling and wide rear end make a nice statement. Power is not a problem with the 3.8L V6 and it features a nice exhaust purr at start up and acceleration. For a coupe, the interior is quite comfortable (at least in the front)and well appointed at the price level. Ride comfort is what you would expect from a sports suspension and low-profile Potenza tires. The vehicle is longer than you would expect for a "Sports Coupe". Overall, if you are looking for a fun, great looking car you can't beat the 2010 Genesis Coupe. Big bang for the bucks!

I looked to spend 25,000 dollars for a sports car this year. It was up to the Camaro and the 3.8 V6 Hyundai. The biggest differences between these cars is the creature comforts inside that the Genesis Coupe provides at a much higher level than the American counterpart. Although the Camaro is a nice bargain, the Genesis Coupe is a better deal

I ordered my 3.8 Gen Coupe in Feb of 2009 and didn't get it until July of 09. Why? Hyundai underestimated demand for the car and ran out of limited slip diffs on 3.8's. Now I know why. The Gen Coupe is a MONSTER ride, and a complete departure from previous Hyundai vehicles, including the modest Tiburon V6 Tuscani. It's a loud-mouthed monster that VERY much hates being driven slow. In fact, driving around in normal city traffic can be a bit less comfortable than opening it up outright. Once you're out of 2nd gear, the car shines. It's responsive as hell, it's 0-60 is fantastic for a company's first time RWD car, its features are great, and it turns heads like a Ferrari.

A beautiful car that gets lots of attention. Handles very well. Gas mileage isn't as good as advertised but not bad for a sports car. Poorly- designed front bumper as it catches on every parking curb - has been ripped off once and scrapes every time. Auto body shop says he sees this car for same problem frequently. Brake pad rumbles/vibrates when coming to hard stop. Blue Tooth Technology not so good - takes too long to engage the cell phone. Otherwise, I've really enjoyed the car.

Until I test drove this car, I couldn't imagine buying a Hyundai. But as soon as I got behind the wheel, I fell in love. Being Hyundai's first rear-wheel drive car, their first real sports car (Scoupe/Tiburon don't count), I expected a lot less. The turbo gives the car a "peppy" feel you don't get with the V6. The exterior styling is unique and almost exotic. You could probably slap an Aston, Infiniti, or Lotus badge on it and it wouldn't look out of place. Road trips are a blast -- it's quieter than my Jaguar X-Type, and it handles like an M3. This is by far my favorite car I've ever had.

I must have gotten a really well built one, because I never had any of the problems with the electrical system, transmission or windows coming off. I've had my car for three years, it was one of the first to hit Detroit in 2009. I did have the problem with the brake sensor not allowing the car to start, but that was replaced and haven't had a problem since.I love the way this car handles and its power, but I have to say that I can't drive more than 45 minutes without severe butt pain. That's why I'm moving on to the Genesis Sedan when my lease is up, and that's now.

I've had a good time so far with this vehicle. I've had other sports cars (7), from RX7's to INTEGRA GSR. This car is great. I would like to take it to a good road and just push it to the max, but I'll probably busted. AZ is harsh on speeding, but I understand. I haggled the best I could for a decent price. A "Pretty Blue Boy", that's what I call it!

The creaky Coupe

This is a follow-up to my previous submission. This model is in its infancy. I cannot speak for others, but mine is seriously lacking in structural rigidity. The Sun roof creaks at low speeds and on uneven pavement. It has noticeable flexion about its long axis. At speed on very smooth pavement it is fine. The front suspension doesn't match the rear at speed when pitching it around...it doesn't have the feeling of being engaged regardless of input. It has a rather squirmy feel to it on uneven pavement. The engine is in serious need of mid range torque and the gear ratios need to be rethought entirely. Not a bad boulevard cruiser as long as the pavement doesn't challenge it's structure.

Had this car one week and I just want to drive it 24/7! My BMW just sits collecting dust now. My husband cannot believe the great handling and power in this car and wants to drive it alot too. It feels great to watch people oogle at my ride and I think I am the only one in the county with one so far. I actually had someone take a picture of it on the road! I was going to purchase the Mustang or Camaro but saw this and could not resist it! I am fully satisfied with my choice.

This is a great bargain of a car. I have yet to break it in but the V6 is strong. I've driven front wheel drive cars for more than 10 years so it's nice to get back into a rear wheel drive car. The driving dynamics are so much better. I have the Grand Touring and the ride is a good compromise. It doesn't beat you up but it handles great. I can't wait till gen 2.

I purchased my car in November 2009 and I can say that Hyundai makes great cars. But the main problems I have is that it has a bad rattling noise from the sunroof. I took my car to the dealership but they said they cannot hear the rattling. They said that the rain might have lubricated the sunroof and to bring the car in when it is not raining. Also, the transmission does not down shift smoothly. Other than that, I think the car is great and the styling is awesome. I get compliments from people all the time. The car feels like its worth $40,000 but I only paid $27,000 with a navigation. Unbelievable deal. To me, it looks better than the Infiniti G37.

WOW! Just picked up a new 2011 3.8 GT! This car is simply awesome. It drives better than my Acura TL that I just sold. It is so much fun to drive, it looks so sweet, and is quick as hell. The quality of this car is tremendous. Do not HESITATE to get this car if you are interested in it!

I just got my ride today 9-1-2009 and I drove it today about 60 miles and it was a different experience for me. I have a 07 BMW 335i twin turbo and that thing just makes anything out there seem pretty tame and lame. This car is not bad for $29,500 that I paid for it. I got it for 400 over invoice and I am sorry to see the BMW go. Now this Hyundai is a head turner and I have to until the 2011 535i's come out with the new body style and engine. For the money the car is nice.

I have owned my new Genesis Coupe for just over a month now, and it turns heads! My co-workers and friends all want to know what it's like to drive and are thrilled by it's looks. Until last night I had only good things to say about it -- Apparently there was some road debris on the highway and some of it managed to find my right rear tire. I not only suffered a flat tire, but also a punctured rim, which makes me question the quality of the rims. Even the Service manager said he had never seen that before. So 33 days, and a $750 bill later, I hope I made the right choice by buying the Genesis Coupe...

We were going to buy a Sonata when we saw the coupe and were floored. Took it for a test drive and were sold on the spot knowing Hyundai's reliability. Having only put 250 miles on the vehicle, it's a little early to give true impressions and ratings on the vehicle until it is broken in. MPG for this vehicle so far is good having obtained an average of 25 MPG on both Hwy/City... as long as you can keep your foot from getting heavy on the gas. This car is a blast to drive for the price and handles very well and predictable. Yes, there are some small quirks I've noticed, but I can easily look past these for the fun and pleasure of driving this car.
