Still Loving it!
Update: 77,000 miles and buy a single issue. The dealer replaces a worm shaft inside the steering column that was causing a scraping sound when turning the steering wheel. Fixed. Everything else still applies from my previous reviews. Bought new and I cannot believe I got this car for what I paid. Update: 57,000 and still loving it. Still no squeaks or rattles, shifts smoothly. Great gas mileage. Get all of my service recommendations and oil changes at the dealer. Thoroughly satisfied. I’ve owned the 2018 Value Edition for 14 mos and 26,000 miles. Not a squeak or rattle. I have to look at the dash and listen for the chime to make sure I’ve turned the car off. Yes it’s happened more than once, it’s so quiet. The Value Edition has a luxury feel with the leather steering wheel, heated seats, automatic climate control which is the best of any car I’ve owned. Sheer heaven in the winter on 76-78 auto with two ticks on the heated seats. You’ll not want to get out of it and face reality when you get to your destination, I promise! Summer all the coolness you need. Tested and approved in Las Vegas heat!! Blind spot monitoring and rear cross alert have saved me many a time. Average 38-40 mpg on my long commute. Always in ECO mode. Happy with power and comfort for this class. Perfect size car. I don’t feel like I’m in an econo box, nor do I feel like I’m sailing a boat. Purchase was based on a rental experience. I rent a lot of cars on trips bigger and more expensive sometimes, but I’m always glad to get back to the airport and into my Elantra. Tip, get the Value Edition or Limited if you can.

This is my second elantra.
I do not have anything bad to say about this car. We are very pleased. I also own a 2010 elantra , which has been an really good car. The ride in the 2018 is much better and quieter, but I haven't had any problems with the 2010. 08-29-19 still very pleased, mpg a little higher.

A car set up to fail!
elantra has a major design flaw. I have the 2018 Elantra and The grille has no mesh and is wide open. I've only owned the car for 2 months and my AC went out and their trying to make me pay 800 dollars for repairs because a rock hit the unprotected condesner and it's not covered under warranty because an object came through the wide open grill and hit it. So now every few months I'm supposed to pay 800 dollars??
