Used 2019 Hyundai Accent Consumer Reviews
My little red Accent
In 2019 my husband and I bought a 2018 Hyundai Accent used with 32,000 miles on it. We’ve had it for almost a year and 1/2 and we just hit 77,000 miles. Within the first 2 weeks we got the car the front left bumper popped out of place. We’ve had the clip replaced 3 times now and it pops right back out after 2 or 3 days. For the past 2 months the A/C has been flickering off and on while we are riding down the road or just sitting with the car crunk up and the air on. I wish we would have been able to get an Elantra bc we really need a bit more space. This car would be ideal for a single parent, a younger driver, or an older person. Definitely not a family car! It does have a little get up and go as long as the AC isn’t turned past 2.
Oil Burner
This car did fine until about 100,000 miles. Then it started burning oil excessively, due to an engine design defect with the Gamma engine. Although Hyundai recalled the Sonata, Santa Fe, and Tucson models, they refuse to act responsibly with the Accent and Elantra models that have the same design defect. Hyundai made great cars in the early 2000s, but then they decided to really screw it up. I would never buy another Hyundai.

Reliable car you can depend on!
Bought this car new. It drives reasonably well, pretty easy and cheap to maintain relative to other cars. Spare parts are readily available. My confidence in this car started after a successful 1,200 km non-stop trip with no issues. My only advise to help prolong the health of this car would be to change the oil and oil filter every 2,500 km and not the recommended 5,000 km Hyundai mentions.
