A Great SUV

I've had my Pilot nearly 3 months and I absolutely love it. Very comfortable interior and a great driving position. No problems with gas mileage. I don't have a heavy foot and my overall for 3700 miles is 20.2 mpg. I had a Tahoe, so I picked up about 3.5 mpg. Very good road feel. Very roomy. I've had no reason to take it into the dealership. I would buy again! It's everything I expected out of a Honda.

It is a great improvement over 2007. Rides very well and fund to drive. The rear hatch window is a real nice adjustment. Like day light lights. Sound system is very good. I particularly like shift right in front and easy to work particularly in comparison to 2007 that took three men and a boy to shift. Love back up camera on rear view mirror

I bought this Pilot couple days ago, so far my family love it. Entertainment is great, back up camera and sensors front and back are very helpful for this big SUV. I tested ride MDX, 4Runner Limited and Nissan and Infiniti, I was not impress with those SUV. I never like the older model Pilot but this one is way so much better looking, and have everything we need inside.

Disappointed

I have been extremely disappointed with my new Pilot. Having owned Hondas in the past, I expected no problems but have many. Paint peeling on front bumper, scrubbing in front end when turning and breaking at same time, sunroof won't close if you are stopped, skipping on cool mornings, latch on 3rd row seat snapped. I hate to continue with negatives. Wish I had my GMC Yukon back! Took to dealership for the scrubbing, they said it was anti-lock breaks. They will paint my bumper but not replace it. This is not acceptable to have body work on a brand new vehicle especially when the mfg plant is 30 minutes away where they have newly painted bumpers to install on new Pilots. MPG not good.

Loving My Pilot

Purchased a 2011 4WD EX-L with Navi and have no regrets. Ride is fantastic. Gas mileage is what is expected, not sure why folks on here are all bent on it as it is not a hybrid. Very roomy, smooth ride. ECO Mode goes on and off and it can not be noticed other than the light on the dash. Great pick up and passing ability. Only minor grip would be the lack luster sound system from the speakers in the doors. Not as good as my Ridgeline. Traded a 2007 Ridgeline and this car has meet the same great expectations I have always had from Honda. This is my 5th. Just test drive and you will see how much you love it. Considered the MDX but for 8K more for not much more in features.

We love our new Pilot. We owned a 2006 Pilot and traded it for a 2009 Odyssey. It only took a year to figure out we are not a minivan family. So we traded for this and my wife couldn't be happier! Great lines and well laid out interior. Couldn't get much better of a vehicle in our opinion

I purchased mine in May, 2010. I already have 12,000 miles on it and I am quite pleased. It's everything I expected. Comfortable commuter car - although I would think Honda could do better on the fuel economy (getting 18-19 MPG overall). I really like all the room and the utility of the vehicle - exactly why I bought it. The navigation system is fine - sure wish they had live traffic though (possible upgrade??). Finally, I'd say that the only downside has been the sheer size of the vehicle has intimidated my wife from driving it. It does have a pretty wide footprint! All in all I am really glad I purchased it - I am a huge Honda fan.

I purchased my Pilot about two weeks ago, after doing months of research, driving loads of other SUV's crossovers and simply think I made a fantastic decision. I almost bought the Volvo's XC-90 or the 60, but the reliability of the 90 was in doubt, and the smallness and overpriced 60 turned me away. The dealer was very accomadating, kept to the price, which I started off by using USAA.... then going lower then that. I bought the 4x4 Touring, in blue, and each time I drive it, I feel I made a great choice! It feels substantial, well made and usre footed when behind the wheel. The pick-up is always there, with more power ready when needed. Please test drive the Pilot, last, and you'll buy it!!!

Scout Approved Pilot for the Distance

After 14 years of ownership, I still enjoy my Honda Pilot. For the first 100,000 miles, it ran beautifully with little more than the typical oil and filter change. Starting April of 2019, that is when my Pilot's age started to catch up. Mind you, the engine and automatic transmission has held up very well, but in total, I may have put in $9,000 into major repairs. The vast majority were to suspension components. I have replaced rear shock absorbers, strut assemblies, brakes, rotators (between 2 to 3 times), all 6 spark plugs (twice), ignition coils (all 6), water pump, timing and serpentine belts, control arms and balls (two), power rack & pinion, TPMS sensors, Denso alternators (two), AC compressor and clutch, Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid, CV-Axle assembly, Clutch Pressure Switch, and sway bar bushings. Perhaps I have held on to the Pilot a bit too long, but it rides well, does not leak, and can easily tow a lightweight enclosed scout trailer. I would recommend a Honda Pilot to anyone!

I just purchased this vehicle a week ago and typically you are suppose to be excited when you get a new car but I can't seem to get there. Here is what I have noticed so far. It drives great and has a very smooth ride but for the price I think it is missing a lot of features that should be standard. To get blue tooth or a better stereo you have to purchase the $2000 navigation system. Unless you can afford to purchase the Touring model I would look elsewhere but I'll bet in that price range other models would still have better features. Honda claims that you get more at trade-in for their vehicles, I hope so because I don't think I will own this long.

We have owned our 2011 Pilot for over a month now. This is our third family hauler – and the best yet. Shopped around for over six months and finally settled with the Pilot. It has everything we had hoped to have in our family hauler. It has good exterior looks and finish – love the boxy/angled shape. Engine has a lot of power and provides a smooth ride. Interior is roomy, comfortable and quite. Seats are firm with excellent back support. Music system is awesome. We had 6 adults and 2 kids on a day trip and the SUV hauled without a fuss. The only quirk - features offered in EXL are very few for the money. They seem to have rectified it for the 2012 model. All in all, I love the SUV!!!

We've had this Pilot since the end of March 2010. So far the driving experience has been great with the exception of the poor gas mileage (14.4 in the city), some misunderstandings with voice recognition, and sunroof not closing at times. We have taken it back to to dealer with ref.to the sunroof and it was reset. (We still experience the roof not closing on occasion.) Otherwise the drive is nice & comfy, gadgets are good, exterior is strong, and interior is roomy. We've taken road trips with the the dog and other family and you can't beat the space or comfort.

Very poor residual value after 5 yrs & 70K miles

This Honda Pilot EX-L (it has everything except navigation) does not hold its value like a Toyota product, which is very disappointing. My Toyota Tacoma 4X4 w/90,000 miles, is two years older and has a higher trade-in value. I have not had to repair anything on it, just fluid and oil/air filter changes by the car computer notification, a few recalls, new battery at 5 yrs., new Michelin tires at 30,000 miles which greatly improved the ride quality. The tires still look new after 40,000 miles. I want to keep it but she wants a new vehicle at her retirement. I purchased it certified used with 20,000 miles. MPG mostly city is 16.5 MPG, while highway got up to the best at 22.5 mpg. at speeds between 60 - 75 mph. Jan. 5, 2017 update: Made several dealership visits over the past week and have received trade-in offers between $14K - $18 if I purchased their vehicles: 2016 Acura MDX demo w/5K miles trade-in offer of $14K one day then $15K the next day. A new 2017 Buick Enclave trade-in offer went from $16K to $18K as I walked out the door. A new 2016 Honda Pilot Elite trade-in offer was $15.5K. A Mazda CX9 offer was $14K. Although these offers are within Edmunds published values, I turned them down because they wanted me to pay their bloated prices that were above MSRP prices in most cases for their add-on trinkets of $1K -3K. Still hunting for the best "win, win" deal.

Vibration in steering when driving low speedand steering same time (walking speed, like parking)

We got the Honda Pilot 2011, since it was the best option for us in the market. I have this SUV already a year and so far I have only one issue/ concern with it. I brought the car to the Honda Dealer for schedule oil change. I made them clear that I feel vibrations and noise coming from the steering wheel during parking of the car ( you have the steer for parking) or when driving out, all this vibrations are very noticeable at low speed. I did a drive with the mechanical specialist from Honda where he said that this is the first time he got that vibrations. I request to do comparison with another pilot, same year, and till today I am waiting for their feedback. issue with hydraulic oil?

i just bought a 2011 honda pilot EX-L 2wd on the spur of the moment, heres something that i did not notice on the test drive, there is something that you should know before you buy this high priced SUV! it has the ECO system also called the VCM this is were 3 or less cylinders shut down when you reach a certain speed, this is very noticeable it feels like a constant up or down shift or an engine misfire!this is to save fuel, i am very disappointed with this, on my 70+ mile trip back from the dealership the thrill of buying a new car sure went down the pipes! shame on you Honda if i wanted to save fuel i would have bought a FIT!
