Used 2006 Honda Odyssey EX-L 4dr Minivan w/Entertainment, Navigation (3.5L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Defective Honda Odyssey Paint
We purchased a new honda odyssey EX-L Nav/Ent and the van has really been a very good van fornthe family. But from the very beginning the paint was peeling off the hood. At first the dealer didn't want to deal with it then finally said they would have their touch up guy fix it. Well along the years every part of the paint on every panel has failed. It is the dark blue paint and the van runs great but all my paint is still peeling off. It really sucks as we spent a lot of money to buy this new. It was an obvious paint defect from the very beginning which Honda should fix but they won't. Now I can't sell it or upgrade without first repainting the entire van which no way should I have to. And this van has been garaged kept its entire life. Honda knows there has been a defect with their dark pearl Honda paint but they still fail to fix it.

Biggest Bang for the $$$$
I'm a certified Master technician. My wife and I researched for months and finally purchased the honda. The toyota was a close runner-up. Quality and resale are my biggest concerns and Honda has an excellent track record. I agree with many of the posts, Honda should consider focusing more on the convenience issues.

really dissatisfied
The heater is slow to warm up and then is not very warm, the air conditioner is slow to cool and not very cool. The brakes grab. The CD player does not play on rough roads or during cool temperatures. The visibility is poor through the side view mirrors. The driver seat is uncomfortable for shorter people.
Dissapointing qualitites
I like the van but, yes, there's a big fat Honda "but". My cheaper 2002 Volkswagen Jetta has higher quality safety and practical features than the Honda. I have only 1, yes one complaint with the Jetta - placement of the cup holder. With Honda I have dozen minor annoying issues. Made and built in Alabama. When you call the dealership and Honda Customer Service - Amazing how they have a list of excuses Are they Psychic?! It's easier to deal with a Cell phone complaint, Timeshare or the IRS than Honda. "It's the winter snow", "You drove on dirt", "You drove on gravel" "You drove the Car", "Warantee? Nope, not covered! "NOT our Fault cause we monitored your poor driving skills." GPS Spyware?
Disappointed
I purchased this mini van looking for better gas mileage than my Durango. I'm getting the same mileage (my calculations agree with the electronic one) 13/16 MPG. The temp. gauge has never worked properly and am told that it was set at the factory and nothing can be done. But the biggest shock is the Pax tires. I got a puncture in the sidewall today. Pulled into a shop and was told that only Honda can replace the Pax tire because the tire and wheel are one. Honda charges $300 for a new wheel. As far as driving on the flat, I was told by Honda service that if I drive more than a few miles on it, I chance doing more damage - more money. So as I write this, I'm waiting for a tow truck.
