Used 2006 Honda Odyssey EX-L 4dr Minivan w/Entertainment, Navigation (3.5L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Honda Odyssey is excellent minivan
I researched and test drove every minivan on the market including the kia, Hyundai, dodge and toyota. I also spoke with many minivan owners. The features that were most important to me were the flexibility to configure the seats different ways because I have 3 small children in car seats. I also wanted a minivan that was somewhat luxurious as I was not thrilled about the necessity of buying a minivan. I am so pleased with the Honda. It is easy to drive, easy to maneuver the seats and I love it! We have made family trips and it has been great.

My Paint Blotchy Too
I read a posting on 9/7/2006 about blotchy silver pearl paint on their Odyssey. I too have the same color and noticed the same thing on my van. Only when you view the van on a bright sunny day and at an angle that you can see the blotches. I also went back to the dealer to complain and they told me that it's very common with silver cars. They even showed me 3 other new vans on the lot and sure enough, they are all the same. But, I don't see the problem with my neighbors 2005 Sienna also in Silver. I am wondering if it has something to do with the pearls in the Honda paint. Otherwise I am very happy with the van. Wish that the gas mileage would be better, getting 17mpg city.
20/28 mpg, not quite!
It's a pretty decent vehicle, although we miss the comfort of our Chrysler LXI. The Chrysler was quieter and drove more like a car. The brakes in the Honda and other safety features are far superior though. The two things that just frost me are the fact that the sticker mileage was let's just say -- inaccurate. Yea, I know 'your mileage may vary' but I expect to be able to at least compare these numbers with other vehicles. We're getting 15 in the city and 18 on the highway with no execptional demand on the car! That's less than my gas guzzling neighbor's Suburban! I brought it to Honda's attention and they said 'your mileage may vary
Disappointed in Honda
We decided to try Honda after hearing for years about the wonderful driving experience and quality. That has not been our experience. The transmission in our 2006 Odyssey needs to be replaced at slightly more than 60,000 miles. Luckily, we purchased the extended warranty for this vehicle! Other complaints: the road noise is too loud, the steering pump is loud, the CD player has never worked properly, and the handling on wet or snow covered roads is absolutely horrible. Some features that we have enjoyed include the entertainment system, fold down rear seats, and maintenance minder system.
