Safety Features - best in show!

I shopped and helped my 97yo grandfather a vehicle with safety features. This car had the best active safety features for under $30k. It will help you stay in your lane (steers you toward the center of the lane). Subaru/Toyota didn't have this feature. The only thing needs improvement is the volume of the beep for blind spot needs to have even louder setting option.

Great SUV

2017 Honda CR-V Touring 4dr SUV AWD (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

I picked up my White diamond Touring AWD last week and I'm loving it!! It drives really well and is very comfortable. It does have a lot of safety features, which can feel overwhelming at first. The only features I'm missing from my previous car is the panoramic moonroof, ventilated seats and when the mirrors would tilt down in reverse.

Honda does it again!

This is my first Honda and also first mid-size SUV. My family has been buying Honda for over 20 years now (2 Pilots, 1 Oddessy, 1 Civic, 1 Accord) and have had 0 issues with any of their cars during this time. In fact, my dads Accord was purchased back in the 80s and he put nearly 300,000 miles on it and never had a single problem. So reliability is never an issue with Honda. I LOVE this this new CRV. I never liked the looks of the older ones and wasn't even going to look at the CRV until they redid the car, which I really like. It looks much more sporty for a family-oriented vehicle. The ride is smooth, the turbo engine is peppy for it's size, and the fuel economy is great. In the 2 weeks I have had the car I have put more 400 miles on the car and I am getting 29.5 MPG, which is great compared to my old car (Hyundai Tiburon GT). I have one two minor gripes. One, the engine can be a bit noisy when sitting still, either parked or when I come to a stop. I have never had a turbo engine before, so this might be normal. It isn't super loud or anything, it just creates a small clicking sound that once I hear I can't stop focusing on. But once I drive it stops, and with ANY music playing you can't hear it. I googled this and it seems to be normal for this new 1.5L turbo engine. My second complaint is that the safety features do not let you sync any phones while driving. While this is great in preventing a driver from syncing a phone via Bluetooth or one of the apps, it also prevents any passengers from doing so as well. Not a big deal, just a bit weird this can't be changed via settings. Overall I am 100% satisfied with my purchase and love my car. I highly recommend it!

This is our third Honda CRV. The newly designed 2017 Honda CRV is more spacious, luxurious, quiet and comfortable. The 2017 CRV feels and drives like am Acura, Lexus or BMW. Our model - one level below the top of the line "Touring" is beautifully built - heated leather seats, custom dual heat/AC controls, outstanding stereo system, and lots of new safety features - including lane warning. One of the neatest new features is the new intelligent cruise control system which automatically adjusts if the car in front of you slows down. We also looked at the Subaru version - and found it was smaller, noisier, and much less luxurious. From all of our research, Honda also had the highest reliability and best resale value.

This is my first non-luxury car in over 25 years and the gap has diminished somewhat. Owned Saab, Lexus and Acura, all of which were great cars, particularly the Lexus. For just over $32k for a loaded AWD Touring I've gotten a very well-balanced car that is surprisingly refined and peppy. Do wish it had more ponies under the hood, but that's kind of what you get in this class. Fairly quiet and smooth, especially for a crossover. Mileage is below listed as many posters have noted, but still pretty good. Safety features on par with the NX and RDX I looked long and hard at for $10k more. Infotainment system is not class-leading but certainly way better than some of the dour reviews it's received. All in all, Honda needed to hit a home run with the new CR-V and having looked in depth at all of the competitors in this class, I think they've nailed it. A really well-rounded car that now looks and feels much more premium than the CR-Vs of old and can legitimately be considered a mid-size option.

2017 CR-V EX

We have had two or three Accords and a Civic, but this is our first move into the CR-V and into the EX trim. I love the car. It handles great, and gets better gas mileage than our 2013 Civic! I appreciate the active safety features, which have already come in handy several times. We have just had the car for just over 1800 miles, but our overall mileage during those miles is 34 mpg. Things I would change or add: 1. An interior release for the tailgate (although I suspect there's some ultra cautious safety reason for only opening from the outside or remotely). 2. The interface for the entertainment and vehicle info is a bit slow, and could stand some attention. 3. *Wireless* Apple CarPlay, rather than just via USB. UPDATE after 11,000 miles: 1. The entertainment system has had some issues on cold days. At times, it has not recognized the iPhone plugged in to the CarPlay system. At times, it has simply dropped the connection. When it does that, the Bluetooth gets temperamental as well. 2. The Auto setting for the headlights was just what I wanted, but it too has developed a curious issue. When engaged, the dashboard displays the icon for the headlights, with a capital "A" in the middle. It no longer displays the "A", and indeed does not operate automatically (e.g., auto switching from bright to regular beams), even when set to auto. I will schedule a trip to the dealer when my work schedule lightens up a bit.

Horrible experience with CRV

We bought a new CRV 2017 3 years ago. Engine failed. Honda Dealer charged us 10000$ although it's still under warranty. We'll go long way to battle with this. It is very horrible experience. Would never buy Honda any more and would suggest anybody not to buy Honda.

I owned a 2013 CRV previously. Purchased the 2017 Touring CRV in August 2017. First of all NO CD player--No pocket behind drivers seat-no comfortable arm rests for driver & passenger. Replaced it with a cheap piece of plastic that is annoying. It slides back and forth. Use to have storage area on each side of the middle counsul. Did away with that. I'm sorry I purchased that car. I was told "It has everything" Well needless to say after I got on the road I found it did not have everything. I will choose another make of vehicle next time. I trade every three years. LAST Honda for me. 9/13/2018 Having this car now for a year I've added to this review. Still wish I chose another vehicle. It is now 09/14/2019 I still have the Honda (2017) My review still remains somewhat negative. I have since purchased new tires. Thought the ride might be smoother and firmer but it is not. My daughter has a Toyota Tacoma pick up truck.(2018) That truck rides like a dream compared to my Honda. I will not consider Honda when it comes time for a new vehicle.

Fun to drive again

Wife getting prepared for a knee replacement and wanted a vehicle that was easy to get in and out of. We decided on a 5 passenger SUV. We test drove Cadillac, GMC, Buick, Toyota, and Ford. The Honda stood out in Tech and comfort. We live in the mountains and the small turbo handles the climbs with no problem. Averaging 31.4 mpg. with an engine that has a lifetime warranty. The navigation is spot on and even shows your next turn on the dash (handy). Brake hold is a welcome feature that makes stop and go easy. Cruise control keeps a distance between you and the driver in front and breaks for you. I went from 70 to 0 as the car in front of me came to a stop. Amazing. Headlights and wipers are automatic. I guess I have to mention the only con I can think of (no CD player). What a fun car to drive and you owe it to yourself to test drive one.

I've been driving stick for two decades. When Honda stopped making an Accord EXL V6 in stick, I went down to an SI. It was spunky and fun to ride/park but storage was terrible and I was tired of being the smallest car on the road. So I broke down and got the new CRV EXL (CVT) AWD. So great. Tricked it up with roof rails, running boards and side panels. Looks awesome. Inside with floor/cargo mats/cargo net/hands free tailgate. Cheap on gas, all out on fun. Do I miss stick? I guess. But its a dead technology and CVT is where it's at. This car is ok out of the gate (not fantastic) and needs a bit too much pedal to get it to move backwards when trying to park in tight spaces, but overall it is so much fun to drive. I hope to have this car long enough to hand down to the next gen. I still don't understand why anyone today would get navi when GoogleMaps looks great on Android Auto and I would guess works at least as well. I love the XM interface.
