Nice Ride
The new Hybrid CRV we bought for my wife has been exactly what she wanted - comfortable ride, good storage capacity, very good mileage in town, nice look and easy to drive. The safety features are what sold us on it - all are smooth and feel totally under control - the lane keeper almost drives for you and the adjustments are easy. The only downside is the fuel economy on the highway. In town we can get over 40 mpg average but on the interstate at 75 mph its more like 30 mpg. Overall, we are very pleased with the purchase. Update 4-17-23:. We love the CRV. Very roomy and comfortable back seats with wide opening doors, which makes it easy to get car seats in and out. The only downside to a hybrid we didn't realize is that fuel economy dropped 10-20% in the southern Indiana winter. If I live North I wonder how bad that would be.
Impressive vehicle with everyday people
I have been shopping past two month hybrid suvs and narrowed between RAV4 hybrid and Honda CRV Hybrid. After maybe 10-12 most important comparisons I decided Honda CRV Hybrid EX-L model. My top reasons to pick this car over RAV4 hybrid; 1) both interior and exterior significantly better materials used. Honda CRV interior quality superb, clean, simple, easy to use and stylish. It’s like Acura grade set up. Exterior paint, quality of parts (side mirrors installed over body of the car vs. RAV4 on the door which shakes if you close the door fast) and many more... 2) Almost every exist technology is standard at CRV hybrid while RAV4 only upper trims. Lane departure, Cruise assist, speed maintain auto, blind spot, back up camera with sensors and a few more! I found same features only at RAV4 XSE model which is $37K vs. Honda $32K. 3) Handling is fantastic: It’s a car for every day driving, quiet, comfortable and smooth handling vs. RAV4 is sporty and less quiet and smooth. It’s more off road suitable. 4) Honda AWD system vs RAV4: Honda us traditional AWD system which main engine and electric engine handles together vs. RAV4 back tires are connected to only the electric engine and delays integration a few seconds, and power might lack! 5) Honda is more roomy interior both seating and the truck space (except the under cover area in the trunk. No spare time, but air compressor) 6) the leather seats are better quality in Honda vs RAV4. 7) Honda was offering 0% interest for up to 48-59 months but Toyota only offers max 3 years; longer terms quite a bit higher APR. 8) Toyota about $4-6K higher price vs. comparable trims of Honda. I’m sure I am forgetting a few more. However my point is; I’m very happy to decide 2021 Honda CRV HYBRID EX-L over Toyota as overall great car great value!

It is so quiet, smooth and has incredible MPG!
I leased this vehicle for my ministry/business and it was the best decision I have made regarding a fuel efficient, almost self-driving 5 person seating SUV that can go almost 600 miles on one tank of gas! As gas prices continue to escalate, I know that I am saving our ministry/business money everyday.

Picked up a lease for a great ride.
Very nice car to drive, easy and controlled driving experience, real world mpg is about 35 for me, mostly city. And I drive slow, so no way 40 is realistic. But, auto headlights, drive assist, backup camera, heated seats, sound system is nice. Only complaint is misleading mpg estimate.

Real life mileage
We all know the CR-V is an amazing car. I'm writing this review because I've had my 2020 Touring Hybrid for 16 months, since March 2020. I've ready many times that people's "real" mileage isn't meeting the EPA specs, yet I am averaging 38-40 mpg, right on target. I've driven many different scenarios: in crawling traffic, 3 hr weekend trips at highway speeds in the mountains or to the beach, with an empty trunk, packed full for college move in, and of course many local trips around DC and the 'burbs (ranging 1-45 miles.) Even air conditioning doesn't negatively impact the mileage. In the past 16 months I've probably had 2 tanks where my average was less than 38 mpg (it was around 35 mpg instead) so I am not sure what others are complaining about? My least favorite thing about this car is the tone when using the electric mode (to warn pedestrians), but it does work and is required. The sound is more pleasant than Toyota's, but both are too loud in my opinion.
A four wheel drive car made for the North Country
The new Honda CRV's are big, about as big as a Subaru Outback. I just transitioned from a Honda Civic Hybrid after owning and driving this Civic for 16 years - it still got 49 - 50 mpg. However, we need an all wheel drive car with a high undercarriage which will dependably always get us up our NH gravel road, a 10% grade in places, during the winter. Neighbors up here who have Honda CRV's always get up the mountain! That is our expectation. The Hybrid offers somewhat better mpg than the regular CRV.
Follow-up
I spent many weeks researching suitable cars for my next purchase. After careful consideration I chose to buy a Honda exl hybrid. Thus far, I am pleased with my choice. My favorite feature is the adaptive cruise control. Coupled with the lane keep assist the car technically drives itself. The leather seats are comfortable and the rear seat is huge. Currently, I am averaging 39.5 mpg in mixed driving (4500 miles). I added the crv cargo tray with the blue crv lettering. And, I purchased a crv spare tire/kit online for $400. Interior materials are top shelf in quality and appearance. The transmission is smooth--seamless really. It can get noisey though if idling in park for an extended time. If I could change anything it would be the alloy rims. The flower pattern is.......different. All in all, I am happy with the car. And, despite rising gas prices ( $3.49 in Tacoma) it only takes $37 to fill up. Compared to the 4 cylinder sedans I was driving that is a bargain. Finally, for just over $31,000 this car delivers good value especially compared to its competitors. I can't wait to see how the awd handles the snow and ice of the Pacific Northwest. After driving an additional 9000 miles since my original review, my mpg has increased to 41.2 mixed city/highway driving. And, I have had no problems with the car. Based on my experience Honda did a great job with this hybrid vehicle.

Love it.
I purchased the Honda CR-V Hybrid EXL model. Only gripe is the loud noise that comes from engine sometimes if I am sitting in park. One thing that I noticed and like is that the front console area is an improvement from previous years. I have a deeper space to put my belongings and purse between driver seat and passenger side. There isn’t a stick shift in this model, I love it! It’s convenient and keeps front cabin feeling less cramped. The infotainment system is alright, I would take 1/2 of a star off for that because Mixcloud has Not been connecting. The dark leather grey seating is nice, along with heated seats. I am averaging 38+ mpg. I do hit the EV button if I am sitting in thick traffic, seems to work. Other than that not sure if I needed the hybrid? You can only go one full mile on full electric, wishing it was a bit more. I do think I purchased a great car.

2021 CR-V Hybrid Touring
We recently got this during the computer chip shortage. The Hybrid Touring was tough to find and dealers were not in the mood to deal much off sticker. That said -so far we like this car very much. Roomy, rides well, decent enough acceleration, AWD, safe and many upgrade features in the touring model. We are glad we got the Hybrid over the regular CRV for two main reasons 1) It comes with the more reliable 2.0L standard engine vs the infamous 1.5 Turbo in the regular CR-V and 2) My wife drives this mostly locally (little use on highway) and this is where the hybrid efficiency MPG shines is in under 45 MPH stop and go traffic. Take it on the highway and its gas millage is not all that much better than the regular model CRV. We hope sometime in the future they offer a Plug In Hybrid version.

Great in the City but not the best on the HWY
I've had plenty of Honda products and overall Honda is fantastic. We had a 2019 Insight which we loved for what it was... just a bit small. It always got around 50 mpg no problem. We figured we'd give the CR-V Hybrid a try. It's a fantastic vehicle for mixed driving and short commutes. Around town we get 35 mpg all day... but never 40. That's not that big of a deal. However, on the HWY this car needs to be driven a bit slower than what I'm used to. At 80 mph you will only get in the upper 20s. If you keep your speed to max 75mph you can get 30 mpg... and so on. This is a bit disappointing. We didn't have this problem with the Insight. We just did a 1400 mile road trip and the average mpg on the HWY was just a hair above 30 mpg. Honda really needs to be more truthful on this issue.... they are doing what Hyundai and Kia did 10 years ago... Other than that the car is great. It's comfortable, quiet, roomy and all around good quality. The multimedia could be better but it's usable. Apple and Android work just fine and the radio sounds good at volume but not great at low volume. We may or may not keep this car for long... Either way, it does the job.

Angel's sing!
We love the gas efficiency along with the practicality and roominess of this car. My kids, however, love the sound of "Angel's singing" that it makes when in Drive or Reverse that Honda added because the engine is so quiet!
My favorite over long history of Honda buyer
I think women would really like this car. I am 75 years old. My husband who died last year had the 2018 CRV regular turbo one. I had the 2018 touring accord with the low tires and big wheels. Loved the electronic but hated it being so low and not good in cornering or judging the sides of car because tires stuck out from sides of car and constantly hit the curbs and messed up the 19 inch wheels. And any broken road or old road made it jump. Also kept getting my windshield hit by stones from higher vans weather coming towards me or being in front of me. But the crv, even the regular gas turbo touring was safer and easier to drive. Now if buy the 2020 hybrid, you get the faster and quieter engine, the sport drive, the heavier and more stable feel, because of battery and slightly better gas mileage. And even the 19” touring wheels do not get hit by sidewalks and high curbs. Also there is parking sensors which I still like. Only thing I would add is front camera. Oh also heated steering wheel. So in Cincinnati, with hot summers, and cold winters and heavy rain and lot of broken roads being repaired and many big SUV’s and trucks, I think I made a good selection. I already knew how the info computers worked. Actually like the cartoonish look of it. Easier to see and larger words and pictures than the accord. Works more integrated with voice than the accord did. Could use bigger one yes. Also I am short, so I set key fob to lower seat when I open door and then set inside car to hit the number 2 inside to raise it up for me. My accord moved back when I got out. But this is easier to see on corners. There was a dead spot in accord if short and did not go up as far as older accord models. Made for talker people. So anyone 5’ should look into CRV.

Hella Nice CR-V
We went with the 2021 CR-V Hybrid with all-wheel drive so we could have a fuel-efficient vehicle that we could take adventuring up into the Sierras of California and Nevada year-round. It's super-quiet, buttery-smooth, and has a whole bunch of nifty features that make it a pleasure to drive. We also own a 2011 Toyota Prius, which we've always liked... But the CR-V is so nice in comparison that our Prius has now been dubbed "The Garbage Car."

Hybrid CRV Touring
We ended up getting the CR-V Hybrid Touring model and love it. We had some difficulty getting a CR-v near us due to low inventory but could not be more leased with our outcome. The drive is fabulous, roomy, unbelievable level of tech, very driver friendly and the milage is pretty great too. Long drives are a breeze. Would highly recommend the Hybrid CR-V! Honda did an excellent job with the upgrades for this model!

2021 CRV exceeds expectations
Now with 20,000+ miles on our 2021 CRV hybrid the average fuel usage is 38mpg, with the majority of that at highway speeds. The car has performed flawlessly. HOWEVER, because of it lacking a spare tire or space to store one, I believe the Toyota

Glad we got the hybrid with touring package!
We have a 2004 CR-V and just bought a 2021 CRV hybrid with the touring package. Really enjoying the great gas mileage and the extra backseat leg room.
CR-V = Can't resist vehicle
Smooth ride, great gas milage, tons of space, only thing missing is a place to hook up a cargo net, someone was asleep for that.

CR-V hybrid fails to impress
After considering both the CR-V and the RAV4 hybrids, I felt that the Honda was a generation behind the Toyota in technology. But the real deal breaker was two fold, 1) the Honda did not provide a comfortable driving position for me and 2) Honda does not recommend adding a trailer hitch whereas Toyota offers an optional trailer. Obviously a hybrid is not intended for towing a big boat or camping trailer, but being able to tow a small trailer or attach a bike rack is a necessity for our lifestyle

First Hybrid
Absolutely love this vehicle. Our first hybrid. While the mpg has dropped to 34+, it is still nice having a SUV with decent mileage; especially now, with the price of gas. Impressed with its turning radius and all its safety features. The one minor issue is the mileage drop when using winter gas. It is still acceptable, but disappointing. Why the internal computer can’t adjust for the ethanol is beyond me. After 15k miles, this is one of the best vehicles we have owned.

Well put car but mileage could be better
This is a nice car. Rides and handles well. Cabin is classy and convenient. Has lots of cool useful features. Interior materials do not feel cheap like the RAV-4. Engine is quiet and barely audible. Not much of road noise. The only gripe I have is that the mileage I am getting is 34 with mixed conservative driving but I still feel happier driving this over plasticity Rav-4
Been disappointed so far....
Not pleased that the MPG has been averaging under 33mpg, and I'm being very gentle with the driving. With my regular 2016 CRV I was averaging 27mpg, so the premium paid for the HyBrid has been very disappointing. Seat warmers really are weak, and the safety features are more annoying than helpful.
Nimble as well as comfortable
I was very impressed by the response I received while driving the car. Seems much more nimble than my other hybrid.
Forgot, don’t expect what they say about mpg.
It’s not for saving money on gas if that is what you want. In cold weather gets low mileage if you want heat in seats and steering wheel and reg heat. In heat it is better unless left outside in high heat. If in California or Florida in winter, gets best mileage. In city if use for few miles a day for month, driving hills and stop and go, will not meet their tests. I love it because it feels like an older heavier car without bouncing around and it is quieter inside. Don’t get turned off with the hybrid sound that people hear outside or you hear in garages. Hardly hear it inside and only when engine is not warming the engine. Sounds like sci fi scary movie. Made me nervous at beginning. But with research, saw it was put in by government to warn there is electric motor car in vicinity. Especially backing up. Electric engine does give more pickup. So has advantage with smaller engine. I am actually paying a higher price to register my car in Ohio. To help pay for fuel tax. Forget trying to drive with electric only. The car decides if it goes on or not even though you hit the electric only. Most time the engine needs to turn on to either cool or warm up engine when I would want it on to go few miles. The sport part is really great with more engine power. Now I have not been on highway much, though will be using it in august. If you want to haul stuff get a bigger regular gas and transmission. Not for that. Better than any of those new low cars. Not cheap. Toyota owners like to use theirs for hauling stuff. It may be more rugged. It has great back seat area. And seat goes down flat with rear. Lose the lower area because of battery. But I find it easier to use then before.

CRV Hybrid disappointed
The CRV Hybrid was a total disappointment to me. 1. Zero Comfort. Very uncomfortable sits and poor ergonomics 2. Little power - you got use SPORT all the time for grasping for power 3. Poor Quality all over. It is cheaply low quality design car. 4. Poor paint. Easily stained and hard to get rid of stains. I regret not shopping around and thsi is the last Honda for me. .

I bought my Honda CR-V hybrid 2021
I was very disappointed with the quality, in the flat road, it was one of the best car, it run smooth, however on the hill or mountain, it can not able to keep up with other car, it was revving and no acceleration, the speed limit was 75 miles per hours but I can not go up to 50 miles per hours, it has sound like old car, not recommended to buy it

I bought brand new and have never gotten above 32 mpg regularly, and I don't drive aggressively. Oh yeah, and I also had the rear main seal start leaking at 13k. Can't wait to trade this in.

BE CAREFUL ..The worst Hybrid SUV ever
Do not be fooled by what is written on the car's specifications. It will never give more than 33 mpg in city and even much less in the free way. I drove it super super slowly (below the speed limit) and I could not reach 34mpg in city. Do not go for Honda if you are looking for a Hybrid car.. I believe there are so many other hybrid cars give more than what is listed in the specifications LIKE TOYOTA , FORD , KIA, HYUNDAI and German CARS and many others. I am working with some other similar car drivers to file an official lawsuit against Honda.

the CR-V Hybrid Touring is the make and model of the Honda CR-V Hybrid that I've been looking for. There are extras I would like related to the back storage area.
Excuse Me #Edmunds
If You are looking for Hybrid SUV, You must read carefully. Do not listen for Edmunds advice buying CRV Hybrid. I get one recently, it is hectic and weak especially in heights. Honda will loss reputation after making CRV hybrid. The engine is very weak in comparison with Rav 4hybrid. I will return it to the agent of Honda.

Mediocre
Purchased 2021 CR V Hybrid Touring. Was expecting the well known Honda quality and craftsmanship but was disappointed. Exterior design is good but surely a redesign is on the horizon. The interior has a lot of plastic and not an ounce of luxury was considered. Engine power is mediocre, it’s definitely a hybrid. Noticed poor craftsmanship in certain areas of the vehicle. Sadly, the competition, the RAV 4, definitely owns the crossover hybrid segment. After all, Toyota seems to have perfected the US hybrid market.

Loving my hybrid
This is my 3rd Honda CRV, but my first touring- hybrid model. The hands free tailgate, heated steering wheel, cordless charging area and savings on gas sold me. I went for it and have no regrets. During the summer I obtained 39 miles to the gallon. Winter driving is only 32, so that was a bit disappointing. I do mostly in town driving.

Enjoy
Currently in my 4th Honda and 3rd CRV. The CRV is the perfect vehicle for me because of its size. For me it has all the advantages of a larger SUV but in a smaller package. It’s great on gas. Love the that the trunk allows me to carry large items. The ride is smooth.

Black black black-why so ugly?
I love my CRV. But WHY do car manufacturers make them all BLACK???Such an ugly color. Always dirty. Hard to find amongst all the other ugly black cars in any given parking lot. Hard to see on highways at night. I’ve had go out and buy bumper and window stickers to help me find it in the grocery store parking lot. There are many other colors in the rainbow. Many NICE colors not black (or it’s opposite: boring, dirty white). Manufacturers have zero imagination. That being said…The lane correction, backup camera and blind spot protection help in today’s traffic and high speed highway driving. The AC is good, seats adjust well, back seats fold for cargo. Plus the push button rear hatch lift is a nice feature. AWD is a blessing in winter.

No Towing on CRV Hybrid
Purchased this car under the impression I could add a bike rack. I specifically told the sales person I wanted this car for this reason. Drove it off the lot, brought it back for a sticker and to install the hitch. Found out to everyone at the dealership's surprise that the hybrid can't get a hitch installed because of American Honda Motors liability (they said it is available on the European model). They told me to go to UHaul to have it done because Uhaul will do it. Read online it might void the warrant, called Honda to confirm and they couldn't give me a straight answer either way. Not going to risk the warranty issue, so I'm done with Honda. Car is comfortable and I like the interior, but it doesn't get good gas mileage for a hybrid and can't do the active outdoorsy things that all over cars in this category can do. It's just a bigger sedan at this point. Trading it in for a RAV or Forester as soon as I can.
