SPOTTY PAINT QUALITY

2022 Honda Civic Sport 4dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl CVT)

I looked at 2 ( new ) 2022 Honda Civic hatchbacks with Sport trim. one, with Sonic Grey paint, has paint run & rough edges on left top near hatch. paint quality has been a constant hit & miss from Honda, and no sign anything is going to be done to address this. these vehicles pass Honda's " quality control " from manufacturing plants. Honda leaves problems to their dealer network to address.

Wonderful job, Honda!!

2022 Honda Civic Touring 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

Mine is a 2022 Civic Touring sedan. Most of my comments will be based on the influence of the driving experience of my other vehicle, a Mazda CX5, and my previously owned 2008 Civic sedan. The Civic is actually a bigger vehicle than my CX5, hard to tell from the exterior though. It got a longer measurement & bigger EPA interior space! Very roomy inside, generous trunk space & 2nd-row legroom. It drives like a bigger car now, but still retains the peppiness in the older generation. Transmission is a CVT, but it's responsive & well-tuned, no complaint here. Suspension is sporty & calculated to reflect its design, expect a bit of hardness here though. But the cornering capability of this vehicle is awesome. The turbo engine is powerful & responsive enough to make the driver feels confident in most of the driving scenarios, highway passing, or average cruising. It saves gas, a lot... only consumes 65% of my CX5's city driving mileage. CONS: 1)You'll be sitting close to the ground, some people may not like it. 2) Interior noise level kind of too high...probably because of the noise of the tires. 3)Those high-tech sensors are kind of annoying, giving you all kinds of warnings pre-maturely. (well, not really a cons to some other people I guess) Conclusion: I am expecting to enjoy this vehicle's service for a long time :)

2022 Civic Sport—a class above

Evan L., 02/17/2022

PROS: Clean and mature styling inside and out; excellent ergonomics—all controls are within reach and easy to read; good feature content for the Sport model (18” gloss black wheels and outside mirrors; chrome exhaust pipe; smart key with remote engine start; all black interior including headliner and cloth/leatherette combo seats; 3-mode switch with ECO-NORMAL-SPORT modes; leather wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, aluminum pedals, 8-speaker audio system); LED headlights/tail lights and the majority of safety/accident avoidance systems are standard; very fun to drive with excellent steering, braking and handling; solid build quality inside and out—no rattles and everything feels first rate; decent fuel economy—I drive in NORMAL mode 99% of the time and average 28-30 mpg in 50/50 combined driving. CONS: The 2.0L engine that comes with the LX and Sport models is adequate but could use a bit more torque on the highway when trying to do passing maneuvers; bluetooth voice commands are useless (the audio screen says that my phone is not compatible with voice commands which seems odd since I have a two year old iPhone SE); the plastic on the bottom door trim scuffs easily so be careful with your feet when exiting the vehicle; the horn could be louder/beefier. CONCLUSION: I enjoy my 2022 Civic Sport sedan which has the right amount of features for me—a good value for a car that has an MSRP in the low 24K range. I look forward to driving it anywhere and everywhere. It has plenty of interior room so you won’t feel claustrophobic and trunk room is excellent. This is a modern version of the current generation Honda Accord in a lot of ways. I’ve had my Civic for just over 4 months and 3100 miles and no issues to report. If you test drive a Civic with the 2.0L engine and find it’s lacking in power then I would recommend going with the EX sedan (or EX-L hatchback) which come with the 1.5L turbo and additional features (these two models list for 26-28K range). The positives far outweigh the negatives so the 2022 Civic is a vehicle I would recommend without hesitation (especially if you stay in the lower to mid level trims).

Three weeks into owning this brand new car and the inside rear view mirror fell off (needs a new windshield), the carpet is disintegrating (leaving bald spots), it leaks coolant and has a bad spot in the paint.

I got my 2022 Honda Civic Sports in pearl black last August and I love that car and I always take care of it and drive it very carefully until winter came my love for it started to feel like regrets. I lived in Edmonton, Alberta Canada were the weather is brutally cold and snowy, really thought this car could withstand the -40°C weather but it didn't. It got worst one day, all of a sudden Multiple problems started popping out of my dashboard, I thought it is normal and would go away when cold started to decrease for a little but it stayed lit for a good 3 weeks and had to bring it to the dealership. They told me that the car have factory defect on its Camera sensor that triggers the warnings. After all of the stress I experience I really thought it is my fault but it is the car itself that fails me and I am truly regretting to trust my investment on Honda cars, I should have went to Mitsubishi or Toyota.

This car has a steering problem and has been sitting at the dealer for over 6 months waiting on parts. The dealer replaced a part and it didn’t fix the issue and charged us 1,700 and change and then said they can’t figure out the problem New car is useless

'22 Sport Touring

Just purchased in white pearl($395)-add on, black leather interior. LOVE it so far, no bad paint job, the only thing i wish is in the sport touring model is that there were back seat ac vents placed somewhere, a drivers side memory seat, and a front center storage compartment. I mean the wireless charging pad is good too. Other then that all around good looking car inside and out.

Thank god I leased

I leased this car November 2021, it’s my first Honda coming from owning Toyotas. The first year was mostly trouble free the only “issue” I had was my cruise control would stop working and not turn back on unless I turned my car off then back on again. Almost every time I’m on the interstate going between 69-72 mph my RPM’s will start fluttering, feels like I’m behind a semi. A few weeks ago I was driving and all my warning lights came on on my dash, the next day my car died and wouldn’t start. A couple days later I was parked at the mall and was leaving to go to work and it wouldn’t start again (I hate to walk to work.) after it say for the 8 hours I was at work I walked back over and it started. As I was driving home all the warning lights came back on. I took it to Honda but they wouldn’t look at it until I made an appointment for a week later. I took it in and of course they found nothing wrong with it. When I’m at a stop light and the start stop does it’s thing it’s so clunky sounding. The interior creeks and rattles so bad even on a smooth road. I love the looks of the car but I am so happy I decided to lease this car rather than being stuck with it. Update: Ended my lease early, traded it in on a 2019 Toyota Prius Limited. They have the Civic for sale for almost $28k! I hope no one pays that for that car.

The civic is a solid, sporty car that’s fun to drive. The turbo is smooth and there is no hesitation when entering a freeway. It’s surprisingly roomy with a well thought out interior. There is a problem with the hatch. It’s made out of a carbon material. Mine expanded in the heat and a triangular piece of the hatch approximately 3/4 broke off due to not enough clearance between the hatch and the body of the car. Honda agreed to fix it but The car will be in the shop for an undetermined length of time. The repair took a month to fix but there have been no further issues. It’s a quality car, still love it. I have over 10,000 miles on the Civic and no further issues with the hatchback. Still fun to drive, smooth acceleration and the visibility while driving is good. I love all the built in safety features. It’s a keeper! Update 2/22/25. No further hatch issues. Still one of the best cars on the road today. Fun to drive!

Great car except for lane control and jumpy/sticky steering - came on around 5000 miles - Dealer will not fix - So much for a warranty
