Used 2009 Honda Civic Consumer Reviews
Aimed To Please
After having my 2009 Honda Civic LX-S for less than a week, I can say that I'm really happy with the purchase. The ride is smooth, so far it handles very well, the MPG are great (although I haven't filled up yet). Also, the interior is laid out very well. Everything you need and very easy to use. I'm a big fan of the black interior with the leather wrapped steering wheel in the LX-S model. I would advise anyone who buys the LX-S to buy the fog lights as an add-on, as they add a pop to the car. Also, this car looks so much better in person than in the pictures. In pictures this vehicle does not stand out, but in the road it does. Very happy with this car.
Replacement for my Clunker
Thank you, taxpayers; my old Mercury Villager is no more! Being a college student, I needed a more reliable form of transportation, and that's exactly what I got. I looked at a few competitors as well as the Accord, but the Civic fit what I needed best. The Si badging added a little something something to the personal enjoyment factor. So far, I love my Civic. It has been impeccable in both build quality, initial reliability, and ownership satisfaction. Having never driven manual before and it being a new car, I was expecting some low MPGs on the first tanks. However, in my 2500 miles of driving, my lowest tank has been 28 and my best slightly above 33. Keep this car on your short list!

Luxurious Hybrid
I have owned this car for 7 weeks now, and I couldn't be happier with it! Averaging a legitimate 47.55 mpg through 7 fill-ups. I commute 90 miles rnd trip every weekday, and I have yet to regret anything about this car. We have driven it on 2 weekend trips, and the only complaint my wife has raised is that it's "smaller than" her Altima. I agree with that statement, but have to say the HCH is much better looking and more comfortable, too. The style of the HCH is head-and-shoulders above the Prius, IMHO. It is a fun, fuel- efficient car. It is NOT a sports car.
Great overall car
I've had this car for almost 3 months and it's been great! The car is fun to drive and averaged 41 MPG on long distance highway drives. Combined city/highway has been about 33MPG. I'm really impressed with the performance and the looks of the car. I'm happy with my switch from a corolla to a civic and I expect the same long life and dependability that my Toyota had.
SO FAR, AWESOME
Have only had the car 2 weeks. LOVE IT. I have had Mercedes 300, a New Jaguar, Jeep, RX-8 and everything in between. I might be getting older, but this car is so much fun to drive and for the money, I am impressed!
